I am going to assume that a lack of a way to fasten it down is a safety feature. If you get a bad catch the lathe will move rather than everything coming at you, or at least some of the force will go the other direction! I think I could have made a one direction joke there! That had to come from the backwoods of China using flatheads still, must not have got the memo!
Two things.... I later found there are threaded holes for securing through a table. The flatheads! LOL the thing comes with allen wrenches, but there are no allen screws!
You can.... but it's not ideal. Specifically pine from Home Depot, Lowes or wherever will be super wet. If you can find an old pine 4x4x? and its dry, you can turn it. I think you can turn balsa wood if you really tried. LOL Hardwoods are best. Although I would argue super hardwoods are more difficult to turn.
Great review👍😎
Thanks! 👍
Glad to see you still have all your digits, looking forward to seeing more content
How did I not respond to this?! Sorry and thank you.
nice video thank for what you do.. i hope by now you found the 3 threaded holes in the bottom to mount it
I did find them... but its dead now. Check Project 40 :(
Hello sir this is quite the video I am amazed truly astounded this is show-stopping content right here.

Thanks for the video! does the package come with face plate? My package did not include it.
Yes, my lathe purchase came with a faceplate
Did you ever find a drill attachment for tailstock to fit this model, i cant seem to find anything to fit it????
I did not.... eventually I bought a new lathe.
Can make your own tool rest and jacobs chuck.
I actually did make my own tool rest... th-cam.com/video/4YzUAYVSFik/w-d-xo.html ...but I found a jacobs chuck. ;)
@@movingchips would you be able to link the Jacob chuck?
Mine has M12 threaded holes on the bottom to lock it on the table. are you sure there is nothing underneath?
I did find the mounting threads. But its dead now. Check out project 40

I was told you could not really turn soft woods
