I trust Eighting, they have the reputation for doing surprisingly competent games while being on a budget. And this REALLY looks like a budget game.

Graphic wise a little hesitant, but fuck seeing HxH getting a brand new console game in 2024 warms my heart. Mechanically / gameplay seems amazing as per expected but if we can improve the graphics just a bit, we’re seeing a much more solid game

One thing is for sure though, The story mode is either going to be non-existent or the story mode is going to be so ass that it would make Jump Force look like peak cinema

I feel like a problem I have with this is that it doesn't really feel like a Hunter x Hunter game. It just feels like a fighting game with hxh characters. With how crazy of a power system nen is , you'd expect them to at least name some of the things after nen. Overgear (no idea why they went with this name) could have easily been just been ren or ten. The gui isn't even giving HxH vibes . Idk maybe its just me.

Feels like a Power Rangers Battle for the Grid. Solid fighter, not the prettiest but will draw in fighting game enthusiasts with indepth fighting system.

@@warbyparker8967 But we have Gon here at Chimera Ant Arc, that arc wasn't animated until much later, that's why it doesn't make sense to me.
If it was just the exam arc, there isn't enough material to make crazy movesets and the roster would have nobodies that people don't care about much in addition to a few staples.
You could say, "Just have it be based on the manga" but that also wouldn't make sense because then you'd be spoiling the future of the anime before the new reboot comes out.

Visually this should not release as a full priced title but otherwise it looks pretty fun.

This gonna be a no for me dawg. HxH is a perfect IP to do free roam exploration, this is not it bruh. We need more anime games with good graphical/animation immersion like how clean Dragon Ball Sparking Zero looks. I was hoping to play a game that would show off exploration like the anime, not a 2D psp fighter
Considering Battle for the Grid did pretty fine for itself I think this game will be very solid as long as it plays well and the online is functional

To be honest, the graphics aren’t great. It looks like a mobile game, but I don’t care. We are getting a 3 vs 3 hunter x hunter fighting game and I’m so excited. I never would’ve thought that I’ll be able to play a real hunter x hunter fighting game. This made my day
I think they can make a few tweaks before it launches, add some particle effects and animations, and it'll be up to snuff.
The Greed Island stage does look good.

I don't mind the retro graphics but the animations are lacking, especially for the supers. Hopefully we get polished animations at launch. Also lets hope the roster size is way larger than this.

If the roster is going to be 16 (total) it doesn’t need to be 3v3. Maybe 2v2 or 1v1 (once you zoom-in) for 3v3 I’d say make it 24 characters then you got me🤷🏽♂️

You're right, this DOES look very mvc, but I think in a good way. Some of the animations look a bit wonky but overall I like how this looks
to confirm bbtag push block isnt free, it cost 1 full meter to PB, MVC3 advancing guard was free. so like he said this game is very heavy on MVC3

This game is a amplified Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. It uses the UMvC3 engine and modified a couple of things. Although it appears to look like a PS3 or a Wii game getting ported into modern hardware.

I hope the UI and 2D effects get a glow up ‘cause I doubt the models will get too much extra done to them. It’s interesting to compare FighterZ and this game because both use a key pose heavy animation style but it does seem like FighterZ is better about including good anticipation, and a better color range. Less shading as well on this game. I’m not an expert or anything but I think there’s a lot of simple stuff that could be time intensive but not difficult given where they are already at.
I feel like air dash needs some speed up and i wanna know if we can wavedash with the dash like in MvC

I learned a lot about this man just by him. Reacting to the stage and not knowing where it was taking place. In greed island.! This game potentially has some awesome characters. They can bring to it. I can't wait.
i like that its a 2d fighter instead of arena because of how much anime games are arena fighters. i noticed the assist characters health doesn't regen until the main character hits the opponent and when it happens the health regen is really fast, also the select screen looks like a ps2 game as in the overall aesthetic of it

Part of me wants to say they could still polish it up a bit to make it either look/perform better than we see here, but it is kind of difficult to say if that will be the case or not.
Not to say this is bad, but this does look like something that would have released during the heyday of the PS2. If they wanted to capture that feeling, then mission accomplished, I guess. Still, it is early impressions and it could definitely get better when we see it next.

Animes typically have better visuals. Just look at the DBZ games or even Naruto. Ultimates have a lot of fluidity too.
That game was made on the budget of a ham sandwich and worked on by like 6 people. It was by an large an indie product.

I imagine it will be fun, but DBFZ still looks excellent 5 years later. This manga has such a unique and varied artstyle (as one of the best parts of DBFZ is how readable it is for a 3v3 fighter). They need to put some work in. And they better be doing 6 character seasons. Also the stages seem pretty big without full screen normals. I wonder how far this is from completion, it has no music, but it has full voice acting.
It looks like a fusion of DNF Duel and Marvel vs Capcom. And I really like it and prefer this over yet another arena fighter. This, at least, looks bold.

I understand the apprehension regarding how the game looks, and it is a fair concern. I don't know if the novelty of a new HxH game is enough to override the outdated look of the game in the eyes of the casual player.
That said, this game is reminding me a lot of Battle for the Grid. It might not be the most visually polished, but I do think it has the potential to do well on strength of gameplay alone.

Hold on this looks better than I thought. I thinking we were getting something mid. But I see assists. I see air combos. Ground combos. Overheads!? Lows!? The characters are shmoving out here? This game surprisingly looks better than I expected. The publisher doesn't make games like these and hardly gave the devs any money, the devs have experience in the genre but typically have talent supporting them kn their most notable games.
So seeing it in motion this early not look like sgnt4 is genuinely an impressive feat to me
