I have an interview for a position as a self-employed driver for Amazon in Glasgow. How was it getting used to the manoeuvring of the van? Did you already have experience driving a van before you got the job? Also if you're getting paid per route, you're effectively getting the same amount per day no matter how many parcels you have to deliver? If you delivered all your parcels can you then finish even if you're finishing early?
Ive not worked as fir amazon let alone a courier, but i know some ppl that have. A Lot of multi drop jobs don’t require van driving experience but require delivery driving for a year or at least have years worth of experience driving. You cant finish early. If you somehow are able to do all packages significantly earlier than usual then they’ll just give you more parcels next time. If you have 5 drops that doesnt mean 5 houses. 1 drop can consist of several houses that are near to eachother. I have applied and thought about doing this job. But i dont think i can. Theres alot of downsides to doing this full time. You pay van rental and any damages you do to it. Once you take off taxes too you essentially earning minimum wage or just slightly over. For that amount of pressure you might as well just work in a warehouse. These jobs are available abundantly across the whole of UK for a reason. They also increased the hours from 9 to 10 per shift in alot of the jobs. Too many hours, way too overworked for minimum wage.
i hate amazon done this for 3 months, sometimes its fun sometimes its not… but its all about the experiences
Whats your good and bad point in working as a courier?
Do you have to pay for the fuel personally or does Amazon cover it
Bro, how long does it take you on average to finish that? How many hours
How much is the pay after tax?
Do you have to pay for the fuel or how does it work?
most delivery drivers have to pay out of there own money but no sure about rohan
Usually it’s a fuel card and the company you work for pays it
Hi rohan are you self employed or employed ;) and what do you make per month roughly
regards tony
Hi Tony, I have done a pay breakdown in previous video.
how long do these runs normally take you?
The whole day including loading is probably about 8-9 hours
@@MrRohanUKodf dpd franchisee here when I used to work i started at 7am and finish at 3pm with 250 parcels and 25 collections. But took a few weeks to get the hang of the routes given peak lockdown
