What a legend. Watched this many years ago (can’t believe it is 10!), loved it then and boy do I still. I have had my own XP-1 for several years now and will never let it go. You rock Z.
I recently bought the XF35 1.4 from the guy I borrowed it from back in 2016. I never forgot how it rendered. Now after numerous XF lens trials, from when I got my first Fujifilm camera in 2014, I finally settled for X-Pro3 and that exact lens. What a journey and I'm so happy now with this essential original setup. All the noise suddenly fade away. I had to watch this video again. Thank you.
High or not, Zack is a brilliant photogrpaher. Every video he was in or every picture he shot is just fantastic. I love his work and the inspiration he gives to all others out there.
I was in India in 1971 for several months. Someone loaned me their Nikon and an 80-200 for one roll of film. Got some awesome shots. That place is so alive. This video really impressed me, I'm looking to go small as well. Dang, why can't Leica give us a camera like that for under 5G? They keep teasing us. I do love my Full frame but those snaps were awesome, esp. the low light ones, beautiful would have loved to see some BW too. Great work my friend. cheers....
It's wonderful to see Zach having a real experience making photographs. Screw the trolls. This is a man really in the midst of his passion for photography. You wish you were so lucky. The man has worked hard to get where he has and it obvious he's enjoying the fruit of it. Kudos, sir. Keep it up.
Fantastic Zack. To be full present to the experience and not worry about gear. Just beautiful, I use my Xpro 1, it’s as beautiful magic box just like you said.
Dear Zack, it is a great camera, but it is not the camera, it is you who did this great job. The best stove cannot make a good meal, it is the cook. So I have to admit you did a GREAT job. Wonderful photos. A big compliment from the Netherlands. Thanks for sharing.
These images has a certain soul and feel to them, that is different than typical DSLR shots. I can feel the moment. Well done Zack! I really love your work and the way you approach gear and photography.
...I became absolutely and totally drunk...because the city was great, the models were great, the fujis was great, the shots were great... Zack, I love you and I love the X-Series Cameras. Keep up, man!
What a fantastic video. Thank you for taking the time to make this and share with us. I am going to India for the second time at the end of the year and can't wait to take my Fuji X100s with me, I don't plan to take anything else with me.
I just got x-pro1 one a week ago paired with 35mm f0.95 and it's absolute pleasure to shoot manual portraits with it, the way sensor and lens renders light is magical, love both colors and b&w. great additional camera for travel to my loyal x100f
Fabulous light, fantastic people, amazing camera. What more would you want? I sold all my heavy camera gear and purchased the black X100. I could have purchased the XP1 no sweat, but the X100 is equally as awesome and is a steal.
Love this, well done. Just picked up an X-Pro1 w/ 35mm f1.4 today to (hopefully) replace my X100T, but that is a tall order so we shall see. If anyone's made that move, reply and let me know what you thought? I'm a little worried about the focus speed, but until I have both cameras in hand it'll be hard to know. ALSO Fujifilm, if you read this, the image stabilization you used on the video was a little distracting at times. There were at least a couple instances I felt it would have been better shaky than looking like jello. Food for thought. Love you guys. =]
Hi, am at the point of getting one myself (fell upon it while researching on the Leica m's...which are out of my grasp for the moment) but the numerous comparisons to the M9 made me take a closer look at the Fuji X-Pro1; actually happily surprised by this handy little street-camera and as I've been reading up on it quite a bit it seems that fuji is working hard on those focus issues via the firmware. You've now had yours for a while, how does it hold up? would greatly appreciate your feedback!
very nice video Zack. I was wondering if you can share what types of lighting settings you were using as I didn't see any flash with you in most pictures, but can see at the end that you had external lights. Thanks
Yeah umm. there is no:"auto zoom" on either the X pro-1or the X100(nor the excellent Leica's you mentioned). Perhaps you meant "auto focus"? The original x100 autofocus was troublesome but the new x100S model seems to have fixed the problems...
Thank you! That was an amazing trip! I was honestly thinking of getting into the fuji cameras because the canon stuff is a real burden! Please tell me, would a DSLR allowed you to work faster? I hated my leica's in the 80's because they were slow, compared to SLR's with motor drives and match needle metering.
Zack - you are looking better wit this haircut and trimmed beard - nice to see more of your face :) - great work - I wonder what your take is on the Olympus OMD ? vs the Fuji vs NEX7
Hi Zack Looked like a great trip Zack! Zack, apart from the obvious lens interchange ability, of the Fujifilm X-Pro 1, What would you say was the best camera out of the Fujifilm X-Pro 1 & the Fujifilm X100T? John
That background music sounds like Ravi Shankar, Anoushka Shanker and Alla Rakha at Monterey music festival back in 1967. That model is lovely. Is that Anjolina?
Best things are at the beginning and at the end: the guy who's shirt says: "Sorry, girls, I only date models" - lol and Zacks tired (or drunken) staring view - both are great :-)
Hi Zack, I am travelling to a place where the temperature is expected to be between -20º C and -30º C; sometimes dropping to -35ºC. How do I protect my X Pro1? Please advise. Thanks.
As far as I know, with a fully mechanical camera (sorry it is not what you asked, but different conditions just need different tools). Unless the with your body suggestion didn't work
I have been working with XPRO1 for a while and I am not really impressed to the point that I will change my scope of work from the quality of a 5D MarkIII to a Fuji, yes it is very manageable, you can carry it and take advantage of the high ISO but the definition is not there yet, this camera can't compete in quality with a 5D Mark II either. Eventually it will get there, I hope.
+Saul Bejarano as both an owner of the X-t1 and the 5dm3 I must disagree. I compared both side by side and if the settings are correct and you shoot raw, the dynamic range is equal, the focus accuracy is better on the X-t1 (although the speed and sound of focusing is WAY better on canon), the images are sharper (i know it's hard to compare 16mpx to 24 but still) and IQ is outstanding. I've been to many places with the big SLR and this is the first time going where everything fits into a small shoulder bag.
Nice feature, nicely filmed, whereas the stills are bit sterile to me. I still use the FujiXpro 1 while my Nikon Fx equipment rests on the shelf. What annoys me with the pro1 is the very slow processing speed after a shot taken raw. and, although the color rendering and b-w qualities of the camera are great plus although I had the opportunity to use the Xpro2 I am more and more coming back to analogue photography... medium format with Mamiya and Hasselblad, 35mm with my old Canon F equipment and the results are very pleasing....

Still great watching 10 years later!

10 years on and I’m still dreaming of an X-Pro! 😍👍
Props to the videographer as well. Love some of the brief timelapse-y sequences towards the end of the video.
We learn so much from Zack Arias in the street...Thanks alot for all your lessons.
Fantastic Zack. To be full present to the experience and not worry about gear. Just beautiful, I use my Xpro 1, it’s as beautiful magic box just like you said.
the model is Gabriella Demetriades
Dear Zack, it is a great camera, but it is not the camera, it is you who did this great job. The best stove cannot make a good meal, it is the cook. So I have to admit you did a GREAT job. Wonderful photos. A big compliment from the Netherlands. Thanks for sharing.
the dude chillin in the "sorry i only date models" t-shirt is fuckin G

Zack, I love you and I love the X-Series Cameras. Keep up, man!
Best looking woman I have ever seen
She's the South African model with the Greek name who represents India
The exotic location of Mumbay and the experience of the photographer contribute to an absolutely gorgeous reportage!
Love Zack's work, and this movie was beautiful shot. You really get a sense of being in Mumbai.
What a fantastic video. Thank you for taking the time to make this and share with us. I am going to India for the second time at the end of the year and can't wait to take my Fuji X100s with me, I don't plan to take anything else with me.

Which brand of 0.35 lens?
That Indian head bob at 2:52...
Fabulous light, fantastic people, amazing camera. What more would you want? I sold all my heavy camera gear and purchased the black X100. I could have purchased the XP1 no sweat, but the X100 is equally as awesome and is a steal.
Considering this is 10 years old, it’s amazing. Plus I just bought an X-Pro1 10 years late and about to have some back to basics fun
Absolutely fabulous video. Love this. 👍
Absolutely engaging video, and brilliant rationale for why the X-Pro1 fit the bill for you!
Thank you for sharing!!
8:00 The photo with the 3 boys is my favorite shot in this video.
Always a pleasure to see Zack getting drunk as hell at the end. All time classics
This is THE video that sold me the X-Pro1 and particularly THE photo at 5:46
Do you know what lense he used?
Aina Nirina I believe he used the 35mm 1.4
Zack you are the best. Hope to meet you one day...... You have taught us a lot. Your shooting style is great.
Nice colors. That model is drop dead gorgeous.
Beautiful video and Zack does amazing work. Can't go wrong with it!
I have to get my ass back to traveling..

Oh my god, i just did that this week. Tell me how it went. :0
I've shot with a lot of systems and the Fuji X is my go to for environmental portraiture - skin tones are awesome.
Namasté...cheers...nicely done to all the people involved. Thank you Zack and Fuji.
Fun video, thanks for the stroll down memory lane.
Mumbai is its own amazing world!
just loved this video, both the place and the artist
Awesome video and photograph shooting...This link goes straight to my favorite section
+Fer Dillon (The Kid) Great quality...I think I made my mind up
very nice video Zack. I was wondering if you can share what types of lighting settings you were using as I didn't see any flash with you in most pictures, but can see at the end that you had external lights. Thanks
I want this kit, but i heard that in low light it is a bit of a let down, we'll see. Obviously Zack is happy with it.
Gorgeous and inspiring video. Really liked Zack´s photography
Zack is wearing the I AM THE 18% shirt Andy made! Awesome! Also, the review is fantastic!
Congratulations to Zack for his work, but could You say what gear was this movie shot on? That's some nice work as well!.
beautifully filmed and photographed; very touching at the end.
lol.. looks like Zack had a few beers before the interview . lol.. rock on Zack !
Yeah umm. there is no:"auto zoom" on either the X pro-1or the X100(nor the excellent Leica's you mentioned). Perhaps you meant "auto focus"? The original x100 autofocus was troublesome but the new x100S model seems to have fixed the problems...
I enjoyed watching your video. Congrats on your street images there great. Thanks for posting.
This is such a great video Zack. The colors are so well captured. Can you please let me know the Sitar track that was in the background?
Mumbai is very big city and every time you will get unique images in different places
You should even try to give the camera settings
Some great shots there Zack.
What camera and lens was used to film this?
Great learning experience, thanks, Zach.
Why are people even asking what other camera he has? He says its the x100 in the video.
Awesome Jack...thanks for this little gem
Has Zack had a little sippy sip at the end of the video? Salute!
With which camera was the report filmed? Where there much adjustments made in postproduction? Thank you.
have you gone back to India? its a photographers wet dream
Thank you! That was an amazing trip! I was honestly thinking of getting into the fuji cameras because the canon stuff is a real burden! Please tell me, would a DSLR allowed you to work faster? exotic destination and great shots
Nice Camera and also nice editing ....
I want to buy my second xpro1 because of this man Zack .!!
Hi Zack
Looked like a great trip Zack!
Zack, apart from the obvious lens interchange ability, of the Fujifilm X-Pro 1,
What would you say was the best camera out of the Fujifilm X-Pro 1 & the Fujifilm X100T?
John
Check out Zack's blog, he answer's that question on there.
That background music sounds like Ravi Shankar, Anoushka Shanker and Alla Rakha at Monterey music festival back in 1967. That model is lovely. Is that Anjolina?
i'm more interested in what camera was used to shoot the video
Absolutely love the background music.
have the videos and stills both shot with the x-pro1?
Thanks for sharing :)
What was video taken with?
great video and nice shots
what camera and settings were used to shoot this video Zack !!
Does anyone have any ideas what kind of transceiver Zack uses at 8:11?
It looks like the Pocket wizard Plus II transceiver.
I'm just curious what camera did you used to take the video?
+Edwin Canlapan I was wondering the same thing
Fer Dillon I have to agree, it's a nice video camera. It overshadowed the featured camera.
At 2.29 that guys is eyeing up your clothes for a wash and scrub..........Now thats dedication.
Best things are at the beginning and at the end:
the guy who's shirt says: "Sorry, girls, I only date models" - lol
and Zacks tired (or drunken) staring view - both are great :-)
wow. how did you initiate the intervalometer?
Those eyes their soo gorgeous!!!
Hi Zack, I am travelling to a place where the temperature is expected to be between -20º C and -30º C; sometimes dropping to -35ºC. How do I protect my X Pro1? Please advise. Thanks.
with your naked body xD
hahaha, I am back with a tonne of pictures and my camera. I should have taken your advice anyway ;)
As far as I know, with a fully mechanical camera (sorry it is not what you asked, but different conditions just need different tools). Unless the with your body suggestion didn't work

The video looks better than his stills
Fact !
Anyone know what camera the video was shot with? Is the X-Pro1 any good for video?
Na. No IS. Fuji has never been good for video.
Keren Wang Thanks, I ended up getting the x-pro1, however you were right about the video. My old Sony DX10 does much better video!
Loved this video!
which is the best one Finepix x-pro1 or x100?
Just in case I didn't want it enough, Zack Arias had to suggest it above any other camera.
very nice photos!
Was the video shot on the Xpro1?
What other camera is he using? Looks like a leica, but what one?
Great work Zack!
Good photography with X Pro 1
I really like his photography.
What is the name of the model? She is damn beautiful
Where i find fuji camera in Saudi Arabia?
Can someone confirm if these images are SOOC?
Nice feature, nicely filmed, whereas the stills are bit sterile to me. I still use the FujiXpro 1 while my Nikon Fx equipment rests on the shelf.
