- In Germany, Chancellor Olaf Scholz has condemned an attack on a politician while he was out campaigning. Matthias Ecke was putting up election posters in the eastern city of Dresden when he was beaten up and seriously injured on Friday evening. Ecke is a candidate in the upcoming European Parliament elections. Police have not commented on the motive of the suspects, but anti-right alliances have called for demonstrations in Berlin and Dresden on Sunday in response to the attack on Ecke.

Be pretty ironic that they get out numbered in prison, if they get caught. Way to promote themselves as entitled governance, fear and hate is not a weapon, it's a condemnation. You will not have any peace and rest, if you follow a lifestyle of contempt, but will have an early grave unremembered.

The voters ARE the government! The voters rule by electing politicians to represent them and legislate on the behalf of them. That is what democracy is.
The options are direct democracy, anarchy, and dictatorship. In direct democracy every adult citizen is mandated to be part of not only voting for bills, but also writing and debating them. Obviously impossible that all adult citizens in Germany could meet at some place and together write a bill.
In an anarchy you get all those who want to benefit themselves being able to do so without restrictions (where law ends, tyranny begins).
And regarding a dictatorship-where an unelected government rules-history informs us that what you claim about democracy will be exponentially worse.
