    This is a great introduction to the gagguino, thank you so much, Riley and brian!

    Awesome overview of the Gaggiuino! I built mine this past month and I'm still learning and having fun messing with it. Community is great, as Riley said, but it definitely takes time and effort, which is worth it if you're into that sort of thing :)
    Couple notes:
    - There are two authorized PCB retailers now, and it is possible to get a kit with the pressure transducer, thermocouple, and a bunch of other things (so almost everything you actually need). Still takes a little while, but it's an option.
    - I think the flashing steam light is just indicating that the boiler is currently heating

    I think it's cool that you still need to pull a shot by pressing the button. There's something satisfying about the tactile click of the switch amidst all the tech that's added onto the machine.

    I just finished my KitchenAidiuino dual boiler. Still figuring out all the features, but it's been great! Just a note for anyone considering building a gaggiuino, it does not need to cost $1k USD. It can be done for a lot less than that with a used machine, carefully sourcing parts, etc. I think it can probably be done for less than some of the PID mods I've seen though.

      Do you have any links to the kitchen aid build? I was just given a kitchen aid dual boiler and a gaggia. I got projects for a while now.

    Awesome! I got a gaggia recently and have the gaggiuino kit on order. Can’t wait to get it

    This was awesome. IMO, the most comprehensive video on Gaggiuino out there. I just got my kit yesterday and I can't wait to install it.

    Best value entry point to pressure profiling. I’ve used traditional scales (weightman) with mine so have not had to bother with hardware scales.

    I understood Riley to say they spent $1k **in addition** to the cost of the Gaggia Classic. Then they mentioned $1k after that, so beyond the $200 just for the Gaggiuino, what was the extra $800 spent on? Can you (Brian) or Riley reply with a breakdown of the additional addons. Like $200 for steam wand (parts, links), $150 for external USB upgrade port on back, $…, etc. Thanks!

    • @gregorio5543
      @gregorio5543 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Pretty sure his math is off. You can get a full Gaggiuino kit for sub $200 with a kit and all. I know I paid $450 for mine new. Not sure how he spent $600 on upgrades

    I did this project and never had done anything like this before.. didn’t even know how to solder. Finished the entire project with just reading though all the documentation. Didn’t need to ask for help once and that’s not because I am Amazingh 😂. It’s because every question you have someone has asked it before. Fun project. Definitely recommend if you have a gaggia

    i dont quiet understand how you managed to pull a good shot with 2bar and 25s including pre infusion. Shouldnt it be more like 40s and 6 bar?

  • @alexandersmirnov5263
    @alexandersmirnov5263 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    It's seems that grind was not fine enough and profiles didn't work properly. Actually blooming profile ended very quickly and blooming phase even didn't start.

  • @juunnl9905
    @juunnl9905 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Suprised the blooming espresso had a good taste. That was not close to how a blooming espresso profile should go. Also the londinium profile should hit 9 bars, that is needs a finer grind definetly. Futhermore it seems you are on a quite old version of the software. Apart from that nice vid!

    • @mikhailevtushenko1324
      @mikhailevtushenko1324 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just wanted to say the same thing. For me the blooming espresso is kind of finicky, I have to have the grind size just right for it to actually do the profile so most of the time I just stick to the Londinium profile.

    Thank you for mentioning unauthorized sellers. It's so scummy to make money over the backs of people who actually put all the work in something for free!

    • @thomprd
      @thomprd 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nah, they just pretend. They're getting a cut off of all PCBs ordered and I'm 99% sure they're making money on the kits being sold. They don't want others selling kits because it cuts into their own profits. If they were above board and transparent about everything, it might be different.

    • @TheGroundedCoffee
      @TheGroundedCoffee 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      @@thomprd that's a hefty allegation. You got proof to back that claim up? By the way, if they even made a few cents off of it, wouldn't it be rightfully so that it ends in their pockets instead of the pocket of some lazy sleazeball that didn't do anything to contribute to all the time and money put into creating the code, 3D prints and testing parts?

      Do you guys know where I can look for a pre owned/ pre built gaggiuino project for sale? I do not intend to support people building and selling this for commercial and profit purposes, just wondering if rhere is a channel where I can find pre owned at a fair price. Thanks
