    As much as I admire Conan, he asked a very good question about the budgets and box office ballooning but didn't really let Scorsese give his thoughts on it but rather just joked about it and moved on. I felt it would have been great to hear what Scorsese would have to say given the landscape of the films these days.

      I get what you mean, but I’m sure Scorsese has addressed this topic at length ever since and he kind of lead them into a rabbit hole of bits when he said he’d shoot a 60 mill movie and pocket the rest. Plus it’s a ten minute segment , he has to keep it moving. Also this was Conan still learning, I think now he lets the guest take the reigns if they’re willing

    What would you (Scorsese) do if somebody asked: hey we want you to do a movie here’s $200 Million. Answer: The Irishman

      Sabya while it’s never been revealed what the final budget was but it ranged from $158-250 Million. De-Aging isn’t cheap. And his next one “Killers of the Flower Moon” is going to have a $200 million budget. It was to the point where Apple TV+ had to come in and provide a majority of if not all the funding

    Strange to think that at some point Scorcese used to be that hollywood director who makes films with an average budget

    • @silversnail1413
      @silversnail1413 ปีที่แล้ว

      He's earned his legendary status over the years. Scorcese is like one of the great modern artists at this point and I'm sure a lot of people would be willing to risk a financial loss just to fund one of his movies or work with him. Not many directors would have the power to command a 200 million dollar budget for a film like Killers of the Flower Moon, which deals with controversial historical themes and is way too long to be commercially viable as a conventional cinematic release. Usually studios will only spend that much on a superhero movie or something that is guaranteed to return on the investment.

      Well, according to IMDb, 27k people have seen it, but there would be quite a few that voted low because they love the Chinese Government, or MCU loving cry babies that hate him for what he said about superhero movies so they voted 1 on everything he made.

    Great movie. Too bad it was censored by China. Also too bad the Dalai Llama ended up being a jab pusher.
