You just have to buy Lab grade ethyl alcohol. One pint (2 cups) of 200 proof alcohol will cost you about $40 from a chemical/science store. I'm into chemistry, so my local science store trusts me enough to sell some to me. That stuff can't taste that great I would think. I imagine tapioca starch that tastes like booze. I was thinking more of a 1:1 ratio. that 1 oz of the tapioca powder would absorb an ounce of the rum. That's when it worth buying some. Wiat till Bill Cosby gets a hold of some.

If you're simply pouring alcohol into an existing power that absorbs the alcohol, then you have the weight of the powder AND the alcohol...which takes up more space and wt. than the original alcohol. So, what's the point? Why not just get a bag of little sponges and pour your booze on them, and when you want a drink, wring them out? (Maybe I should patent my Sponge-ahols?)
