- In this week's episode we're back stateside doing battle with Dutch Pantry Family Restaurant's apple fritter sundae challenge!
Diners get one hour to finish a huge ice cream sundae, consisting of 26 scoops of ice cream, a bakers dozen of apple fritters, 8oz of whipped cream, 12oz of butterscotch sauce and a cherry on top. It costs $25 to order but if you can get it down quick enough it's ON THE HOUSE and you get a very cool winner's shirt for your troubles!

@@venogreedo6103 Food prices cover material, staff, restaurant rent,... If you increase the portion size (aka material costs), the other costs don't increase as much (like frying up 3 fritters or 13 is pretty much the same effort). So in the end serving a 5x sized portion only causes 3x the cost (not actual values, but giving a rough idea)
@@meandmyself1600 yea that makes sense. More cost efficient to serve a lot of food, essentially bulk pricing almost. With some of these challenges I would just want to pay the cost and take home the leftovers lol

@Beardmeatsfood seems weird to say it...but if you haven't already returned, and are near SW MI and feel peckish, look for a place called Chicken Coop (you'll know it's the right place if there's a Bible verse on the cup and plate). MOst amazing fried chicken!

I'm a fan of several eating channels and have to say there's a reason yours is so successful.....it's just no BS, no script, no fake flapping/cheering, no pre/most eating rituals/speeches, no "I'm on win number --------", no bragging about being better than the other guy, and so on, and so on. It just a guy eating and interacting with the employees of the establishment, as well as other customers. At point is there any sort of second hand embarrassment, or cringy instances. Love the channel! Keep it up!!

Yeah I'm still relatively new to Beard and I've never watched anyone else doing these challenges. Homeboy is legit. Almost makes me wanna do it. Almost....😊
I honestly don't think those are the requirements of a successful channel. His personality is what is the best. If I do the same videos as him with "a guy just eating and interacting with the employees as well as customers" will be boring af!
Every video has exactly the same structure, you can't unsee it. So, yes, there is script. Still fun vids tho.

i have never liked watching these videos of people eating huge amounts of food cause it kinda grosses me out but you are just so nice and likeable that i find myself watching several of your videos, keep up the good work beard man
That's how I feel too. I find this kind of food orgies disgusting on any other channel. It disgusts me when people stuff so much food into their mouths at once and then something drops. In his case it doesn't bother me at all. I'm wondering why. I guess it's the beard. All the fur reminds me of Cookie Monster. It's been 45 years since my Sesame Street time, but it still has an impact.
Mate you are so chilled with people and friendly. Even during the trials you're willing to spend a bit of your time to talk, interact and even have pictures taken with fans etc. Honestly watching a grown man eating a huge serving of food shouldn't be as relaxing and interesting as it is and it's all due to your personality. Keep it up as I know you will.

My pap and I always said we’d attempt that challenge but we never got to, and he passed a few years ago. After seeing you do it I feel like I need to attempt it in honor of my pap. ❤

Looks a great place; nice people; maybe take "one to go" and eat it over the next three, to four, weeks? Since Beard say's challenge harder than it looks and it looked impossible to me.

In a world where people have forgotten how to be friendly and polite to strangers or their general approach is just to be blunt and rude from the get-go , you make a refreshing change. You engage with people as opposed to just talking to them. That's a gift.

I agree. Adam has a sweet and genuine soul. He makes others feel happy and at ease. I don't understand people who are just plain rude and angry all the time. What a horrible way to live. Life's too short to live like that. I find joy in the little things.😊

Not far from Dubois is a place called Denny’s beer barrel and pub. They make record size burgers. I believe it’s called Clearfield PA. My hunting camp is just a half hour away in Driftwood and we’ve stopped at Denny’s many times. The biggest any of us every conquered was a 3 pounder. Big enough to get a picture on the wall.
Do you know why that is? Because Jim Lahey is a FUCKING drunk, and he always will be.

I met Billy Gibbons about 20 years ago at a drift race contest in Virginia.

Midwest/South is generally pretty polite and welcoming. I've come to find at least, living here my whole life.
You will see this pretty much in any smallish town in America. This is how I perceive most of America. The world tends to see us from our huge lame dirty cities and our politicians.

At ice cream shops around here, it's $7 for 2 scoops and a few toppings. Fritters would be about $1.80 each. That giant bowl is one of the best deals I've seen for American food in a restaurant.

I live pretty close to Du Bois (and there are two ways people pronounce it and you nailed the most common one around here). It's awesome to see all of the different places you do these challenges. If you're still in the area there is a place called Denny's Beer Barrel Pub. They have a few different burger challenges, including a 15 pound one (allows two people).

I'm on week 9 of weight cutting (lost 32 lbs already) and it's all exercise and eating 300 calorie meals.
Videos like these are the only way I get to enjoy food like this now and it's really fun to watch.
