  • In this episode we take a filthy rattle can to this lovely gas tank. We've done a lots of weeks of filling, sanding, priming, sanding, filling, sanding.... well you get the idea. Lots of work to say the least, but most importantly, loads of time! Because we've only been meeting once per week, it means that we really have had to drag our feet on finishing the tank. But it's soooooo good to be at a stage where we can start to put some paint on. We could spend a little more time and a little more money to make this look much better and use spray guns and nice paint, however, that wouldn't really suit the spirit of this build! This is a budget build and we need to treat it as such! Like a cheap filthy budget build. So.... we are going to use Canadian Tire rattle cans to paint the tank on our 1980 Kawasaki KZ750.
We'll go through the process, show you what we did well and what was a bit sketchy. We hope you enjoy!
As a reminder, all of the items we buy for the bike we keep in a google docs list here:
    docs.google.co...
You will find links to the place we bought the item from as well as a detailed pricing.
As always, thanks for tuning in!
    Steve

Really nice color! Smart to reuse Corona face-masks, I don't think they really do anything to protect you from the paint fumes, but it looks cool 😋

I did my cafe tank with rattle cans. It took many coats and lots of sanding. For a budget paint job I was impressed with how good it looked.

Nice work Anthony! So far we’re pretty happy with how this is looking for a budget build. Thanks for watching 🍻
