The problem with the Tyranids, is that all the Hive Fleets and creatures we've seen so far are basically the bare minimum scouting party (equivalent of a Penal Legion scouting party), and what's more terrifying the giant Tyranid we see that look's like its about to engulf the Galaxy, is actually the tip of a branching tendril, that according to some lore has already consumed 99% of the universe. What this means is, the Tyranids threat level are on a humgous jump from the Dominion, Borg or any other threat that the Federation has faced so far. Especially when you consider, the Tyranids are managing to defeat the Imperium, a human empire larger than the Federation with technology a little more advanced, but is entirely militaristic and industrial with much more advanced weapons and they're losing. So, the Federation is in more trouble - especially when you consider the various other abilities Tyranids have which aren't as effective on the Imperium but could cripple the Federation: Able to mess and shut down electric and articifal intelligence systems through natural electromagnetic pulses; unique resistance to concentrated heat energy and shadow in the Warp can cause low level psychic to go insane or die.
The origin of the Tyranids is a mystery with some ancient Xeno's ruins claiming they had arrived billions to years ago, however, according to one story, The Tyrannid is a creation of the Old Ones gone wrong. The Old Ones had planned to create a creature that would always be the Apex Predator wherever it went, and no matter what it stood against, it would always be the predator and greater than both the environment and creatures it was in - designed as a way, to prevent one species dominating howecer. But this meant it was stuck in a state of constant evolution it would constantly improve and become greater than whatever was put in front of it whether it was organic, technological, energy or psykic it would instantly become stronger, smarter and better than it, the moment it came to life it immediately turned on the Old Ones, as it had become the Apex Predator of them adapting to all their technology and species sent their way, so they banished it outside the Materium and Immaterium into the Void, where it would never return. But they were wrong; in the Void, it's not only managed to survive but has grown, adapting beyond the nothingness growing into a unholy monster, and embodiment of evolution and survival of the fittest. Now, it is an entity larger than infinity itself that's evolved past all things to be on par with the Abstract forces that govern the Materium and Immaterium; it's a constantly shifting mass of ever-changing and unknowable flesh, matter, biotechnology and psykic energy devouring entire universes for an uncountable amount of time, existing beyond time, space, dimensions, reality and all that is and is not. What's scarier is that we've only seen the most basic, primitive, and disposable forms of the Tyrannid. Rumors say that the silent king has seen forms of the Tyrannids so powerful their mere presence causes realities to break and buckle and entire galaxies to evaporate. This is also led, by an unimaginable intelligence that made of not only every being its consumed from the lowest to highest dimensions and an infinite amount of universes, but a collective 'Hive Mind' that is constantly connecting, learning and absorbing new knowledge from every drone it sends, to understand its enemy and adapt to anything - giving it a psykic power and knowledge that can push back against the abstract force and constants of the Materium and Immaterium.
The Tyrannid is an insatiable hunger that's devouring everything in its path from living beings, plants, animals, mountains, worlds, galaxies, universes, dimensions, higher beings and even mathematical and abstract concepts of the Materium. This makes it more like Azathoth from the original works by H.P. Lovecraft, not a being whose dreams make Creation, but a sleeping beast who the other Outer Gods play music too, to keep it asleep because it's so powerful the moment it wakes up it will devour everything and nothing will have the power to stop it. In a way, you can imagine the Tyranid as what would happen if Azathoth suddenly woke up, but even more horrifyingly was given the mind of Yog-Sothoth as well, a truly terrifying being. I'm a huge fan of Star Trek and Warhammer 40,000, but the thing you have to remember we see the factions and races of 40k (except for the Tau) at their absolute weakest, the Tyrannid on the other hand is at its strongest - but, what this means is it doesn't consider the 40k galaxy enough of a threat to deploy actual advanced and powerful bioforms (which are already terrifying). If you're still unconvinced, Szarekh the Silent King the sole Necron to have not diminished in power since the War in Heaven who was able to defeat Nyadra'zatha, the Burning One fully formed (it's the very C'tan in his throne), who was the abstract embodiment of the Materium represented all that was 'Light and Dark, was terrified of it and considered it a threat to the survival of the Necrons, and has even begun releasing the forbidden knowledge, their lost technology and allowed basic evolution because how dangerous they are.
Sorry, The Federation are resourceful, but there's no way for them to win this, the 40k factions are barely winning against them as it is - as what they're trying to fight is equivalent to the entire original Lovecraft mythology wrapped up into one terrifying form. A being existing outside and beyond all things in the Void, creating swarms of eldritch terrors from ones who swarm entire worlds with shifting teeth, to entities the size of universes whose individual minds and knowledge can reshape infinity itself - and this not counting the plagues, parasites, infections and living diseases that eat away at reality itself (infilitration is countless for them), sorry, The Federation is done, I do think, this entity, the real Tyrannid, would terrify both the Q and the Prophets. It's said that all civilizations, both old, new, and yet to come, begin with one soul looking up at the stars and wanting to reach them; in truth, something was looking back, tempting them, for all the species that exist, it would've been best if they all kept their heads down to the ground, for the moment they looked into the void something looked right back.

Fleet wastes enormous of amount of time and resources establishing communication with the Hive Mind, whilst being attacked. When a reply finally comes, all it reads is:

Not even all the factions of Star Trek united could survive a tyranid invasion. The problem is that everything in the W40K universe is just so over-the-top compared to regular sci-fi. The size, power and amount of ships , soldiers and armies in the average W40K faction is just so much larger. Even the most militaristic Star Trek faction would be overwhelmed by the output of a single forgeworld. The Imperium of humanity can deploy billions of guardsmen, lose them and shrug off the loss. The United Federation of planets would be devastated by losses on that scale.

the one advantage is that with so many races with so many different levels of tech The trek universe have some hope of finding a tech solution compared to the imperium who is a techno back water in the grand scheme of things.
But your right about the numbers game. The trek universe could never hope to fight them in a frontal battle like the WH40k races can, They have been on war economies for thousands and thousands of years Nothing to compare to that even with replication tech in trek they'd find it almost impossible to arm whole planets for war.

i think an issue about all this is that a tyranid incursion would probably lead to the temporal accord being sidelined for a bit as future federation disintegrates the first tyranid explorers.
    An interesting piece tho

Yeah they tyranids would just eat the borg and the borg would be dead forever. Not even their mechanical virus would survive against the perfect constant evolution like the tyranids.

I watched your other video on tyranids vs star wars
Just want to let you know there's actually a star wars cross over series with warhammer
( made by a fan with too much time and he's a great writer, and you can react to the series if you want. He encourages people to do it)

While this video was interesting, i fundamentally do not believe that any single man woman or beast could be able to outsmart the hivemind. While you may be able to take out the synapse creatures or the creature the hivemind looks through as seen in devastation of baal, I don't believe that one would be able to adapt faster than the hivemind as its entire existence is predicated on consumption and adaption. loved the video tho

Warrior Species that would get along with each other ( and be loved by khorne)
    Star Wars Mandalorians
    Halos elite and Brutes
    Star trek klingons
    the predator
Krogan and Turian from mess effect
( Now make your list of other alien races from different franchises that would worship slaanesh and the other gods of chaos)
