    It sounds like Snotlings don't have the access to RRookies in death zone :(

    Hey there! First off: let me thank you for the Bonehead Podcast, the things i learned here saved me much time and tears.
    Now, since it is not listed in the limited inducement list of sevens as published in DEATHZONE, is its really possible to take the RIOTOUS ROOKIES inducement?

  • @Monstar760
    @Monstar760 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    is riotous rookies legal with death zone for 7s?

    So when I was a child my best friends dad had the nickname “butch” and he nicknamed me “the little snot “. His dad was a very large man and I was short and skinny. We are basically Grak and Crumbleberry

    Hey Ben. I think the Snotlings Sevens concept deserves a new video. Riotous Rookies is not available in Sevens(I thought the same initially). However, swarming is still good to go. Also, it seems the Apothecary can be used on every knock-out and casualty in Sevens(unless I missed something in a FAQ or my interpretation of the Death Zone rules), making it well worth paying for if you can afford it.
    By my account, this seems like an ideal starting league sevens Snotling team:
    230 2xTrained Trolls
    40 2xStilty Runnas
    105 7xSnotling Linemen
    120 1xRe-roll
    80 Apothecary
    20 Fan Factor: 2
    Treasury: 5,000
    CTV: 475
    That should leave room to take a Reliable Ringer mercenary at 70,000 and maybe another inducement(coach or skill on the ringer) depending on the opponent's CTV.
    Anyway, you're putting up my favorite content on TH-cam, please keep up the fantastic content. I really appreciate the time and attention you're putting into your channel.

      Hey Brit, the Apothecary bit is really interesting, it does say "any", instead "a"... but then why would there be Travelling Apos too?! Craziness!
      Well with the FAQ dropping we're all clear on the Sevens rules now, so you're 100% right - we'd better refresh the Sevens for '22 format!😁

      @@BoneheadPodcast Yeah the change in the Apothecary seems to make individual players much more resilient.
      Looking forward to what you come up with.

      It seems like it's just a Death Zone wording oversight where GW didn't catch that it was written differently than the core book. 80k for permanent immunity to all KO results and Regeneration on every player is absurdly overpowered.

    • @TruePointers
      @TruePointers 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@luciopercachin I agree. And yet, demz da roolz. Hasn't been corrected by a FAQ yet, as long as this supplement has been out, I doubt I'm the first to read the rules and point this out. Is the GW staff seriously this sloppy with their proofreading and understanding of the basic mechanics and balance mechanisms of this game? Man I hope not.
      I think the situation spotlights a basic deficiency we've all been a part of. NOT READING AND DIGESTING THE RULES.
      I mean, Ben, myself and almost every other viewer of this vid thought Riotous Rookies was available in Sevens, yet it's not. Though I think we're justified in expecting more from the GW staff, it's their frickin' job after all.

      I allow riotous rookies. But it’s 50k and you roll a 1d3+1 since it’s rookies only do half.

      They are fun. I ran them in a regular tournament a couple of weeks ago. They did better than I thought they would, I went 1/1/1 and the other Snotling coach went undefeated.

    Thanks Ben, great video again :)
    I would have put the fact that so many positionnals are secret weapons as one of the negative points
    I don't understand why you prefer Sprint to pogo stick. leap should really help cross the defensive line. plus, a fun hoppa with sprint would be better than a stilty runna with leap if you go that way when spending spp...

    Hi Ben, love your video's and agree that sevens is the best.
    But in your video you don't talk about the low cost linemen. Is that a thing in sevens?
    In the games I've played so far the fungus flinga has been of great support. Oke the bombs go all over the place but some times just just hit the ball carrier :D

      I sent Ben an email with a way to use two copies of the games workshop ogre team and the ogre that is included with 2020 box set to make a set of 5 blockers (1 of which is a star player) a kicker, Grak and Crumbleberry models, and you have a spare Ogre (2 if you don’t replace the one for Nobility in the box set) and a bunch of gnoblars for riotous rookies. Hopefully he shares it!

    They are gonna be absolutly horrible to deal with when they are defending. 8-10 players with +2 dodge and a reroll? The other team is just going to get to move forward one line and take one blitz per turn while they dodge back and just stall. Teams like orcs are gonna cry when they try to score in 6 rounds against them xD

    • @franklar1694
      @franklar1694 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The opposing players can ignore the snottlings and just walk around them. Titchy traits means they do not count as marking a player when an opposing player dodge to their square

    • @hampuskullberg9932
      @hampuskullberg9932 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@franklar1694 Not quite right, they do still count as a marking player they just don't apply the modifier. Meaning you still gotta roll to dodge even if it's an unmodified AG roll. Sure elfs with dodge and gutter runners will have a decent chance at just wondering thru your tackle zones. Anyone else that doesn't have AG 2+ with a reroll will have to take a >40% turn over risk to get thru a column defense, even with AG 2+.
      So yeah it's not like having dwarfs with diving tackle but unless your opponent is really agile they are still gonna have a rough time just ignoring the snotlings ^^

      @@hampuskullberg9932 You’re right. Thanks for the clarification. I have a game comingnup against elves though, so I guess they’ll just run through my snots.

    • @hampuskullberg9932
      @hampuskullberg9932 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@franklar1694 It's good be questioned, I realized that the turn over rate for making three consecutive 2+ rolls was 57%. I had assumed it would be slightly less than 50%. So the screening would be less effective against elfs and gutters. However they still got to roll a 2+ every time they want to dodge by a snotling and with swarming you can probably force quite a few of those rolls
      And at least you can foul them every time one gets knocked down by a troll. Even if you won't score the most TD's you can still claim a moral victory by killing as many elfs as possible ;)

      @@hampuskullberg9932 My strategy is to build on offensive. I’m planning to try to let the elves score early so that I may have a few offensive turns in the first half to injured them with my pump wagons and trolls, try a goal and get back in the second half with more players on the pitch than the opposing player starting in offense. I’m planning a 3 drives game with no big guy/secret weapon used on the first and all my big guns on 2nd and 3rd
