    When My brother and I were younger we would sometimes play out the pitch invasion kick off result. We would control 2 dozen fantasy battle miniatures of our teams race invading from the pitch side chasing and attacking the other team (they all had human lineman stats). While we had to run our own team back to the dugout. 'twas very silly but fun.

    Got some more top 5 suggestions for you:
    -Top 5 team names. You can even break this one down by from official gw publications like spike magazine and rulebook then have everyone comment their favorite home made ones they've used or seen and pick from those for another episode. I would probably base it on how humorous they are (I love Gwakamoli Crater Gators) and/ or how well they combine warhammer lore with real teams (Dwarf Giants). Maybe also how well they represent the team (Wolfenberg Crypt-stealers). These could even be 2 or 3 separate categories.
    -Similarly you can do the same with player names and/ or support characters like coaches, commentators, journalists, etc.
    -Best skills. May be mostly obvious but still would be interesting to see your order and why. Maybe exclude the most obvious ones like blodge to make it more interesting, even though block isn't even a gimme anymore since wrestle appeared.
    -Most interesting and/ or entertaining skills. Meaning skills that might not be good first (or even second or third maybe) picks but if you get them (on a random maybe) and they work out even once it becomes memorable or even a highlight of the game.
    -Player positions that best represent their WHFB equivalent. For example, I think dauntless and frenzy are a great way to show a trollslayer, but is grab representative of a black orc? You could go deep and go with their original names like skaven blitzers used to be storm vermin, I think, or just stick to what they are called now.
    -In the same vein, which players most need a revamp to be more in line with what they are supposed to represent? Especially since the current skills are often different from the past, both skills available and how some skills work. Would wrestle be more prevalent?
    -Lastly top 5 changes in the new edition. I don't think you've done this yet.

    Switching from playing 11s by myself to 7s during lockdown has been a joy. Its easier to pick up the rules and positional differences. And rather than only getting in half a game a night, I can easily fit a whole game in

    Deathbowl is what we do on the second drafting night for fun in the Dragon Bowl League. Each Coach can bring a team just for the fun of it, and it really is a total laugh.

      Serious!? Right... how far away is the Dragon Bowl League again? xD

    • @dambrooks7578
      @dambrooks7578 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BoneheadPodcast it is a London baaased league that mostly meets at the London Wargaming Guild in Covent Garden, well that is considered the equivalent of a "head office" if you will, for the Draft Night (both initial conference draft and the second drafting for the concluding portion of the league). It is that second draft night that brings everyone back together again to meet up/cjat abput tales of woe at dice or heroic play that should be recorded in the annals of Poetic Edda and read as childrens bed time stories 😂 then we drink and Deathbowl our night away with complete abandonment to sense.

    I would love to see a video top 5 skills. Every week do a different category . Possibly leave out the basics like block/dodge etc but give them an honourable mention. This would be great for a newbie.

    After playing a few games of Sevens, I'm wondering why Blitz Bowl is even a thing. I know it's really popular so there must be a reason, but I fail to see it.

    • @BoneheadPodcast
      @BoneheadPodcast  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Romain! We've asked ourselves the same thing - and we've come to the conclusion that it's there to fill the "Warhammer Underworlds" slot for BB. With the VP cards there's far more happening off the pitch, so makes it a nice variation!
      But it's just not Sevens ;)

      @@BoneheadPodcast I like the idea of cards (although they tend to de-emphasize the importance of scoring touchdowns, which makes the game less tense as a result), but I think the system would work better if instead of a common pool of cards, each team had its own deck, reflecting its specific tactics and capabilities. As it is, you're just as likely to use the special dodge action with a mummy or a saurus as you are with a wardancer. The diversity of players and tactics is what makes BB so much fun to begin with.

    Blood Bowl 54 is worth a look. There's an article written about it at bbtactics.com and it seems like it'd be worth a try to solve a few of the big issues with Blood Bowl.

    I love that in the Second Season rulebook, GW say that Sevens and Blitz Bowl are both versions of the rules played by amateurs.

    Biggest issue with deathbowl is needing multiples of 4 players.

    I love Blitz Bowl for all the reasons that you've mentioned for Blood Bowl Sevens, but unfortunately Blitz Bowl doesn't have the experience for individual players. And while the challenge cards and bonus plays add a cool layer to the game, scoring by fulfilling different conditions on the challenge cards does feel off in a sports game.
    The only thing that's an issue for me is the playerbase. In my neck of the woods it's difficult enough to find fellow Blood Bowl players. Finding someone for Sevens would be even more difficult, I guess. We need a Tabletop Simulator league for Sevens. Or Sevens need to be added to Cyanide's BB3.

    My friends and I always play sevens but with more skills. Since we cannot play often, we just use a predetermined amount of spp we can divide however we want.
    I know it is not in the spirit of the game, but sevens is more fun than regular bb, and we lose out on too many skills if we just play single games with rookie teams every so often.
