Fun Fact, in the Piklopedia from Pikmin 2, it says that the Final Boss was completely Harmless, but "something" was controlling it, so yeah, Louie was trying to kill you in Pikmin 2
Fun fact: this same asshole is also the reason you’re in debt in the first place
He wanted to stay on the planet and killing his boss and coworker was the best way. Too bad Louie doesn't seem to know about the poisonous atmosphere.
I mean maybe the caves have a reduced poison level that lets them survive for longer?
Dang Louie, dang
yeah lol, he doesnt become an asshole later he already is one. he's even the reason that the company is bankrupt and you have to go back in the first place since he ate a shit ton of expensive carrots he was supposed to be delivering.
"The vehemoth phosbat is the first boss in the game"
Armored mawdad: am i a joke to you?
and armored mawdad is the final boss of the demo of pikmin 3
Yes, the Armored Mawdad is a joke.
If you want to get the most of pikmin 3, you NEED to play the mission mode and bingo battle, they are amazing some of the most fun side modes and are genuinely exponentially more enjoyable then the story mode
Like this so he sees it
YES YOU SHOULD
Yes! I got a few friends interested in pikmin jusy by playing the bingo battle with them!!
Best co op Pikmin experience by far
38:21
The way he said 'or else nobody is gonn remember this guy' is so much funnier when you realize that the armored mawdad was actually the first boss rather than the vehemoth phosbat.
And no i havent memorized them, im just in the middle of my first playthrough
😂😂
Olimar is actually poisoned by oxygen, which is why even though there are a lot of plants still olimar is in even more danger
It’s our good friend deadly neurotoxin
Dingo : I’m better than you
Rookie : I’m literally doing your jobs and you guys are just watching me
The rage at Louie. Too relatable.
I think my favorite part of watching everyone's Pikmin 4 videos is seeing what color they chose for their character. It's so fun how your whole rescue corps and ship matches the color, and it gives everyone's unique playthorugh a little touch of personality.
In Pikmin 4, Louie does what he does because he was told to "do what Olimar does", as in take a page out of Olimar's book, being a competent employee and all. However, Louie took that literally and so because he saw Olimar turn people into leaflings, he thinks that's what he should do as well.
I think this was explained in Louie's log.
After his final dandori battle he simply wanted to be left alone so he could stay on the planet and feast on the creatures.
This is false, it was not in Louie’s logs.
@@seanimo8579 It was in some kind of flavor text or indicental dialog. I don't quite remember.
@@ShyGuyXXL It was an end-of-day dialog between the rescue corps and Olimar. Not confirmed by Louie himself
That’s interesting…but a little dumb he doesn’t explain it himself
Had a lot of fun with Pikmin 3 trying to not lose a single Pikmin and completing each area as fast as possible. I know self imposed challenges aren't an excuse for games, but they really helped add the stress and tension back into the game. Also each single Pikmin loss feels impactful if you still care about the Pikmin.
louies problems were explained through random dialogue you could get in the game, and log entries that you didnt read (assuming you didnt since you didnt know the idfference between moss and oatchi)
olimars best guess ingame was that since louie was anew, hire, he was told to copy whatolimar did (since olimar is an excellent employee) and throughout the logs you can see louie thinking the leafling olimar is actually olimar
louie past that point keeps running away because he just wants to be left alone (ingame dialogue throughout the final cave) and wants to stay on pnf-404/pikmin earth (was shown in cutscene/credits iirc)
Pikmin 4 is actually a pseudo reset of the Pikmin timeline. You can see this with examples like Olimar having his Pikmin 1 ship, Events from Pikmin 2 being foreshadowed in Log entries and I may or may not be forgetting more examples
It's also implied in this game that Louie actually wants to stay on PNF-404 (the in universe name of the Pikmin planet), Hence his repeated sabotage in the later entries
It is also mentionned that Koppai is facing a population growth and might run out of foods if things stay that way.
it could also fit inbetween 2 and 3
@@unemilifleurwow. That explain the capitalism much more now
It’s hinted in Pikmin 2 that Louie was abused. Also Louie is obsessed with food because when he was younger, he only got to eat bugs that he found outside because he wasn’t fed.
Also, I don’t think this excuses his actions, but it gives a reason for them
where
@@Victorion_The_Gacha_Fairy it’s in the mail in Pikmin 2, but it was removed in the remake.
Pikmin 4 taught me something actually useful that I use in life:DANDORI
School taught me nothing
Pikmin 4 is clearly a reboot of the series. Everything Olimar says implies this is his first time on earth and the events of pikmin 3 have not happened yet.
Im so glad theirs so many new people joining the pikmin community
I don’t think he realizes how different Pikmin 3 Deluxe is from the Wii U version. Im guessing he played normal mode? Hard mode is the original difficulty. I remember the armored mawdad picking up ALL my pikmin in one lick, whereas in Deluxe he only picks up a couple. The sandbelching meerslug took me days and hundreds of pikmin to beat. I think the quaggled mireclops was the only one that was copied and pasted from the original to the port, as that guy was the most forgettable and easiest for me. I really don’t think pikmin 3 deluxe does the original any justice.
Dude, ultra spicy is so much fun! :D
Pikmin 3 - in all cases where Louie has to be rescued by the Koppaites, they don't do it out of morals.
After the Vehemoth Phosbat fight, the Koppaites learn that some guy called Olimar has their cosmic drive key, which is vital to getting the ship to fly at the cosmic speeds necessary to get back to Koppai.
When Louie makes contact in the Twilight River, he says the name of his mission's captain: Captain Olimar. This makes the Koppaites believe he has their cosmic drive key.
The second time, Louie has stolen all their juice and Charlie's rubber duck! They chase him down and save him because they still need their cosmic drive key as well as justice for Charlie's rubber ducky!!! and the juice, I guess.
In Pikmin 2, the Piklopedia Notes are fantastic! I find it odd how they restricted Louie's Notes to if you have already beaten the game. They even give the spaceship a character in these notes and when you discover caves! The game is full of character, it's just easy to miss and I know I felt that way when I first experienced Pikmin 2.
And, of course, I love hearing new people experience the series and encounter the Waterwraith for the first time hehe
As a huge fan of Pikmin 3, hearing how you found it the least impactful Pikmin game surprised me, but all the points you bring up are completely right. Even on Ultra-Spicy mode, I was able to complete a no-death run, and adding difficulty by slightly adjusting fruit juice totals (which is still not a challenging amount) and lowering how many Pikmin you have out at a time was not as effective as I think they thought it would be. A mod (True Spice) makes changes by making the juice yield harsher and putting more enemies and making the enemies more difficult, which I think it what the Ultra-Spicy mode should have done.
From what I remember in the Wii U version, there was no lock-on feature (at least with the controls I used), so fighting the enemies felt more skillful for me. I also really enjoyed a story-driven experience and the Mission Mode. The cinematic feeling and sci-fi approach to aesthetics like the spaceships and the formal nature of this mission make Pikmin 3 super interesting for me.
Cool video!
Thank you! Those mods sound interesting to spice up Pikmin 3, I still enjoyed it but yeah definetly the other 3 games made me feel greater emotions and the gameplay intrigued me more. Great feedback though thanks!
Fun fact: you lied (@@dancorona)
Great video! Btw a good chunk of the flaws in Pikmin 3 are actually from the switch version. 3dx halves enemies health, slows down the day timer, and the Pikmin Ai was much more interesting in the original game. Also mission mode is definitely the difficult part of 3
one nitpick, there are two bomb caches in forest navel 🤓
great video, glad to see a steady inflow of new pikmin enjoyers!
I know lol I can't believe I missed the second bomb rock spot
20:53 the wistful wild is not just the final trial, but also the impact site stuck together. The final cave (Dream Den) is where the engine is found in the first game.
Where the ship lands in pikmin 2 is the final boss arena for pikmin 1, it could be a possibility that they just smashed together the final trial and the impact site to make the wistful wild but it's for sure the final trial just with an expansion
@@dancorona Yes it is literally the Final Trial and the Impact Site stuck together
@dancorona the game DOES tell you that whistling bombs male Them explode, it's either in the bomb rock intro or yellow pikmin intro.
@@dancorona It is both, not just the final trial.
You do land in the final boss arena, and then you can go to parts that are from the impact site.
If you think pikmin 3 is easy you should try the ultra spicy mode it has making fruit heavier, more barriers, halve the juice from fruit and some fruit are even placed I other places it really gives the pikmin game back the grind and struggle
Thanks for the heart, wouldn't think you would see this that soon
Louie does have a motive for everything
He likes the planet and wants to stay but everyone keeps trying to bring him home when he doesn't want to
54:50 who's gonna tell him about the golden pikpik carrots 💀
"Is Louie just a piece of shit?" Er... Yeah. A little bit!
A lot of Louie's motivations are gluttony and a desire to just... stay on the planet. He likes it there. And is an ass, like, the guy does not have much of a moral compass.
I wish you’d have a video of your highlights for all of games 😭I want to watch you in basically all of the Pikmin 2 caves
I mean, Pikmin 4 is more geared towards a younger audience with themes(starvation vs saving insane/sleeping people) and makes 3 look like an actual challenge with Ice Pikmin. One is still the GOAT tho
Pikmin 3 was my first pikmin game
Pikmin 4 is essentially if pikmin 2 took a chill pill
My theory about Oatchie is that his ancestors were from PNF-404, just like Moss. The Sheperd family has had this line of rescue pups for generations and they don’t know where it came from anymore. With time, it’s possible that he became a slightly different specie from Moss.
It explains why he looks like a bulborg and also why he loves pikpik carrots so much
PIkmin 3's best quality is the replay value, in my opinion it's the single most fun to optimize due to the 3 characters and better balanced strengths of the Pikmin types (except in combat, more talking about mobility and ability to remove hazards)
HOWEVER, the bosses being so easy is a significant drawback. I guess the point is you run around and do other things with the other captains during them?? But that really doesn't work for me.
little bit of advice for 4... the fact that the second player can throw rocks anywhere on screen is BROKEN. Use the drone, move over a creature and unpause. Then player 2 can shoot pebbles as fast as they can press A and also drop bomb rocks. Did I also mention that they can drop carrots (the most abundant item) on switches to press them? It allows you to activate fans in Hero's Hideaway before going there, and even completely break the 6th Sage trial by just pressing a button allowing you to walk on over to the goal.
I'm serious, even keeping a severely drifting joycon next to you as you play is optimal because of the sequence breaks, no-stress battles and even slightly faster transporting, which is a very good idea if you are waiting for a delivery in a challenge or battle. You can also snipe your opponent's doggo with stones by using the split screen!
Also, I typed this all on a phone screen, so don't be surprised if there's some mistakes. Just a piece of advice if you want to make life easier!
36:33 "They aren't really that useful" little does he know they're the most overpowered type in the game
Loved this vid man great work!! 💖
Thank you sm 🙏
Love the vid, and loved hearing your impressions
Thank you! I love this style of video and plan to make more on other games in the future 🙌
Id argue that I prefer the no time limit, and why I don't like Pikmin 1 as much as the others. But I know people prefer that.
I just like to think Louie is the villian of the series
the pikmin 3 section felt a bit unfair imo, first of all armored mawdad is the first boss not vehemoth phosbat which makes me feel like you didn't really put much research in that part and just went off flawed memory, you completely skimped out on mission mode which is one of the best parts of the game, saying "you have to agree pikmin 3 is the worst pikmin game" is just stupid and throws all subjectivity out the window, and finally I feel like you kind of missed some of what made the game special being the multitasking and trying to get everything quickly, the game is just very satisfying to me splitting off all three captains into their own squads and having them all round up fruit and beat minibosses and stuff, especially with go here allowing you to have all three captains doing stuff at once
its not a bad game by any means, but after playing all 4 in a row with no prior biases or nostalgia, Pikmin 3 was the least impactful for me regardless of how you feel about the game
@@dancorona i'm not trying to say how you should feel about it, just saying you judged it somewhat unfairly and didn't really experience it to its fullest
@@ecstaticwooper368 idk man I played mission mode and the bonus modes to give the game my full attention and it didn't change my mind at all
@@dancorona fair enough, it would've been nice if you included that in the video though so it didn't seem like you judged the game unfairly, just saying
I love Louie, he’s my favorite character in the franchise by far.
It’s easily missable because it relies on Pikmin 2 end of day messages, piklopedia entries and post game content in 4, but he’s always been a bit weird.
His grandma made him eat bugs when he was a kid, and his piklopedia entries all focus around how he would prepare the enemy or treasure as a cook. A common fan theory for a long time was that he became crazy after eating the Pikmin 2 Waterwraith, but Pikmin 4 kinda shut it down as him just genuinely wanting to stay on the planet, while everyone else is trying to rescue him against his wishes.
A cool theory centering around Pikmin 3´s Plasm Wraith, and the whole series in general is that it’s based on a monster called the Umibozu (this uses a bit of the Louie going insane after eating the waterwraith theory as him being controlled by the Umibozu into becoming Pikmin 2´s final boss)
"The Vehemoth Phosbat is the first boss in the game"
Armored Mawdad crying in the corner.
I love the arc of him complaining how hard 2 was after 1 to go on and complain about how easy 3 is after 2. The Pikmin experience
I look back on 2 with the best memories at first I was tilted but then I ended up adoring 2
In Pikmin 2, you don’t have to dismiss Pikmin to choose them. It is easier swapping them before throwing. The ship tells you about this on the 3rd day.
0:07 holy shit, thats me

Now THIS is what i needed. a full pikmin review with no spoilers.
9:05 it actually has 2 sources one of which right beside a part with the 2 bridges
Pikmin one is jank, Pikmin 3/4 are considered relatively easy.... and Pikmin just flat out hates you.
Response:
Pikmin 1: well enough said. I agree with the first playthrough points, but this game gets a lot better by going through it over and over trying to do better.
Pikmin 2: fair points, but i still put this game as my least favorite of the series. Not to say its bad, but it felt like BS unfair challenge, which is not my cup of tea. And yes, Louie is just an asshole. Look up the secret cutscene from this game, as well as the piklopedia entry for the final boss. It makes his actions more clear for the other games.
Pikmin 3: this is one that i dont think you got the full experience from. The mission modes really made the game, plus the efficiency mindset fostered by both this game and the first game through multiple playthroughs put this game higher up in my book. Of course that only puts it above Pikmin 2, but the series as a whole is so good that its a pretty big leap. I will say, since you didnt grow up with this series like i did, you didnt have the need to play these games over and over for years to get your pikmin fix (not yet anyway), so this difference in viewpoint is understandable.
Pikmin 4: i liked this game better than Pikmin 2 personally because even the worst challenges felt fair, and very few portions felt like BS. I agree with the idea of the game starting out near Pikmin 3 easy, but it did a good job adding difficulty while remaining fair. I can tell youre benchmarking Pikmin 2's difficulty for this section and thus put it lower than i would, but that is fine. I just fundamentally feel like a fair challenge is better than random bs, but not everyone has to agree.
I cheesed the ancient Sirehound with 100 Glowpikmin lol
When playing Pikmin 4 for the first time, I made the grave mistake of continuing to the final level of the final cave without replenishing my pikmin stock. I had like 20 with me and the boss fight was HELL
Louie is a chaotic little shit goblin, which is why he’s the best character in the franchise.
Because my brain’s attention span loves pikmin, I watched this 50+ minute video. 10/10 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Haha I hope u did know pikmin 2 was Louie was the main reason why they were that situation in the lore
I did read up on that later smh this Louie guy sucks!
i hate how hey pikmin was my first pikmin game but everyone unanimously decides that it is the worst of the five
The plasm wraith is the hottest pikmin enemy
Yeah, all the wraiths are THICK!
Pikmin 3 deluxe is way easier than the original version on Wii U, especially if you play it at normal difficulty. In the Wii U version charging and locking on takes more time, pikmin are a bit dumber, enemies have more health and the day lasts less compared to the normal mode in 3 deluxe. The hard mode in 3 deluxe is a bit more on par with the original, but is still easier because of the faster charging and smarter pikmin compared to the original, along with some other minor differences wich make it easier
Really cool video! But I gotta say, at 36:58 it really reminded me of magnifico saying his famous “I let you live here for free and I don’t even charge you rent” lol
I really enjoyed Pikmin 3 bosses, only problem was the game is too short, Pikmin 3 is not a bad game.
2:22 close- it’s 30 days until he’s forced to breathe oxygen and dies. Hocotations cannot breathe Earth’s oxygen.
2:32 this was me
I have a distant memory of Pikmin 2 (Wii) when I was a kid. I was playing the game and got the second half of the globe, but the game glitched and didn't open the Perplexing Pool. So I was stuck, not able to make progression, because of a glitch, then after spending about 60 in-game days, the Perplexing Pool randomly opened. It was safe to say that I had PLENTY of reds.
Louie would commit war crimes
Didn't he already do that?
9:32 these aren’t the only bomb rocks there
26:20 The way he delievers that line is so funny to me for some reason!
How DARE you talk about pikmin wihout mentioning the soundtrack and piklopedias.
53:06 no? It’s implied that they’re the same type of dog, but Moss is stuck like that because she was born there. Not entirely different species, it’s just the change in environment.
Evolution an that
36:46 umm... yeah that's the 2nd boss, poor armoured mawdad
Props to you for putting up with the gamecube controls/shit
It enhanced my experience
I like the part where he goes "It's Pikin' time" and piks on everybody
Louie literally is just a piece of shit, he's always been like that, even in Pikmin 2. From what I've seen, he just wants to stay on PNF-404 (Earth) because he likes cooking the different enemies in the game into food.
Btw the mystery egg in pikmin one is the smoky progg :)
Each pikmin games has their different type of games.
Pikmin 1: we want to see our family again, we’ll get our earthian family to get it back.
Pikmin 2: is cannot lose all my money…. I can’t see my family starve to death…
Pikmin 3: f*** Louie
Pikmin 4: HELLO MR.DON DORY
goated vid
Fun fact: in pikmin 4. Louie is not a moron. He just thought leafling olimar was normal olimar. And he was told to copy olimar. So he saw olimar turning people into leaflings. So he copied olimar
My favorite, purely because of nostalgia, is Pikmin 2. I had it on Gamecube and didn’t complete it for a couple of years because I was a scared kid, but I liked to just chill in Awakening Woods and make Pikmins and potions 😂
Then on the Wii I had Pikmin (1). I really didn’t like it. The time limit stressed me way too much. I played it again years later and completed it.
And my favorite character is LOU-IE purely because of his facial expressions and the ways Louie is said when you switch to him. I didn’t speak English as a kid and my game was in English, so dialogue was irrelevant 😆
My least favorite is also Pikmin 3. Which I only played on the Switch
9:29 did you know there is another place to get bomb rocks in that level😆
Is this real
@@dancorona right next to the piece that is a spring, you have to build a bridge so that the yellow pikmins can safely grab the bomb rocks

4:50 and its a resting area with only 1 enemy being the pearly clamclamp which holds a ship part as its pearl which will give you a sense of false security and throw in your pikmin which get eaten by the clam
True, but for the sake of the tutorial you can't get to the pearly clam clamp with just reds so theres no enemies until you come back later and can break down the stone wall
@@dancorona yes
Pikmin 2 is my favorite. I love dungeon crawlers and Pikmin 2 provides a challenge like no other pickmin game, but I also love Pikmin 1 because of the time limit and character development of Olimar. When I was little I actually made a real life Knex version of Olimar's shuttle.

26:55 Louie also puts the company in debt and he controls the final boss
People talk about left and right sided brains, bro has a Pikmin side brain 💀💀💀
As a diehard pikmin fan, I kind of agree with what you said about pikmin 2, the gameplay just isn't that fun.
The Thumbnail For The Video Is My Brain
If you complete every challenges in pikmin 2 you get to see a nice little easter egg
Fun fact trial of the sage leaf is unlocked after playing and completing olimar side story in pikmin 4
the new versions of pikmin 1 fixes the bomb rock problems
I love that they fixed the bomb rocks for pikmin 1 on switch
Rain World is a game that is just as anxiety inducing if you haven't encountered anything. it's an amazing game atmosphere and design wise, but the story can feel a bit lackluster and confusing while the game itself is also really frustrating. if you don't mind dying hundreds of times, I'd advise you check it out!
Btw not to be mean or anything, there are actually two locations for bomb rocks, the first is the one you mention in the video, and the second is behind the location where you find the gravity coil. Also great video 👍👍👍♥♥♥♥♥
Also the bomb and spotty bulbear falling from the sky is peak Pikmin 2 fuckery haha. But honestly I’m glad you realized that the game was testing your skill. If it had a day system it would be so incredibly challenging it would be unfair, because Pikmin 2 allows you to get your Pikmin back without fear of “wasting a day” cause your Pikmin will die in 2… a lot…
Bro as soon as i get into pikmin you release a video all about pikmin. Wth

That 2 is the best
So Louies motives in Pikmin 4.... You might want to read the piklopedia in Pikmin 2 to understand Louie has always been..... morally questionable. In the Titan Dweevils piklopedia entry it implies the creature is quite docile and someone was probably controlling him. And Louies treasure name is King of Bugs. Its implied in Pikmin 2 Louie stayed behind on purpose, learned to control the bugs of the planet and attacked Olimar for fun. Then in Pikmin 3 he straight up steals all your food when you meet him. Its a recurring thing that Louie is an asshole ever since his introduction reminder hes the reason Hocotate Freight was even in debt in Pikmin 2
Yea but all that doesn't really explain why he does it
@@dancorona Fair but it does make him being an asshole in 4 not random as thats always his characterization
