It's a shame and unfair how nature or God whatever we can call it decides to shut our lights out, we all come here in this world 🌎 and end up being erased just like Ray's pretty eyes were shut down, sad
I met Ray-standing outside a hotel in Texas. He was an extremely nice guy-how he is in this clip is exactly how he was when we met. We had a long conversation about 'Hummer' cars and how odd they look when being driven through a valet stand. Great and down to earth guy for as famous as he was.
Exactly what I was thinking. He seems rather reserved and shy. He's probably nervous too. Who wouldn't? Some actors (especially in the 80's, 90's) like to try to maintain their tough guy image off screen. Liotta not at all. He could have jumped on the bandwagon so well. All he had to do was milk the fact that he hung out with all the real mobsters. But not at all. Says even he doesn't want anything to do with Henry Hill. Somehow that makes him even more likeable. That he's just an actor. A professional actor.
True. Same case with Christian Bale. He is so intimidating and intense on screen, but when you watch his interviews he seems very quiet, very down to earth, and very warm. And still, people wonder if that's really Bale. You just know his on-screen characters, but his real self is an enigma - that is the definition of a great actor. Yet another actor like this is Daniel Day-Lewis. As for Di Caprio, for example, I always thought he is overrated. He can act, sure, but I always still see Di Caprio behind every role, that part of him that is very public because he likes to appear in the media. Of course, one still doesn't know how he is behind closed doors, but there are certain parts of a personality that you can't fake or hide if you are a lot in the media, and it's especially true of actors who expose themselves publicly quite often.
I didn't know he passed. I too first noticed him in Something Wild. Great film. He played great tough guys. Has the look as well. Probably intimidated Dave.

Yep, and the sad irony (to your point about him being 'underused') is Ray talked about how this past year he'd never been so busy vs. all the ups-and-downs he experienced in show business. And the fact that he was about to be married to supposedly a wonderful woman makes his passing even more tragic.

Sir I can only imagine how beautiful and deep the red in this movie must have looked. I watched Terminator 2 on shrooms and the colours were out of this world.
@@southlondon86 not a ‘sir’.
@@trapezoidspangle934 Sir apparently gender is a construct.
@@southlondon86 religion definitely is.
@@trapezoidspangle934 agreed
That golden maniacal laugh which made him great in Something Wild and Goodfellows... so, so, so sorry Ray left us. It was too soon. Truly
He performance in Goodfellas cemented him as one of the greats. Shameful that he wasn't even _nominated_ for an Oscar for that role either.
I agree.
Much agreed...what a horrible shame...condolences to his family.
I am awarding him a posthumous oscar
Agreed.
Hollywood geeks, just shows you how out of touch Hollywood can be with the heartland
Goodfellas is one of all time favourite movies, Grand Theft Auto Vice City is one of the best video games ever made. We were blessed to enjoy your talents. Rest In Power Ray. Gone but never forgotten. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
"This is the Last Dance for Lance Vance".
We'll miss you Ray. Not only for your great film work but also your guest spot on ER. I still cry every time l think about it, and seriously doubt l could ever watch it again. A brilliant, affecting performance. One of the best. Sleep well sir.
Such a splendid, memorable talent - thank you for so many rich performances.
My number one idol in the whole wide world Ray Liotta 😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔
Ray Liotta played a really bad guy in "Something Wild" movie. He scared me in that one. Goodfellas was just filled with great actors and he got Henry Hill's character nailed down.
He even outshone a legend like De Niro in that movie, speaks volumes of his talent.
Goodfellas, one of my favorite Movies, I had such a crush on Ray Liotta, that laugh, smile amazing actor. RIP.
Fantastic actor. He’s also great in Cop land, which is a very underrated movie.
That iconic laugh from the “funny how?” Scene in Goodfellas. Nostalgia 😎
Whoa, so cool how the movie Ray promoted in 1994 was set in 2022! Crazy how it's also the same year he died...
A genuine Good human and Great actor, we shall miss you Ray! :'[ x
