So this is a good game that introduces the Fallen London world? I have recently been playing the browser game which is excellent. Great to play on phone in bed before sleep. But I wasn't sure if I should play Mask of the Rose. It doesn't seem as robust.
Well. FL had almost two decades of regular updates at this point, so it's definetely not as robust. But I do like it, if for some familiar places and concepts, and the 'main' murder mystery is also quite neat
It’s funny you say that, since Failbetter’s lead narrative designer for Fallen London (another of their games) actually worked on the 2019 Pathologic release! I don’t believe he worked on Mask of the Rose, though. Both games feature a living city, so maybe the developers just found a similar way to depict that - streets like veins, rivers like arteries, etc.
8:17 or in this case, dead rats! (sometimes live, they aren't picky) always loves a good story that failbetter churn out, even if i can't reasonably pays for its monthly content for FL (and due to time constraint, probably won't for a long while until i return to the game). but i will find a way to afford this one whenever its gone sale.
This game seems not as popular as I thought it woulb be but it leavs me with wanting answers questioning things regarding it and honestally sounds rather complex almost like it's a sherlock homes game interestng and I can't even begin to understand what love has to do with the whole thing. Do I think this because I have yet not checked out any of the failbetter games before perhaps? It seems you are more knoledgable about this games world than me. And through all the diffrent choice you can take is thaire a true ending?
Not yet. The closest I got was when I was not trying at all, and when I tried to make an active effort of it, it fired my ass. I may be bad at the whole courtship thing.

I don't think there quite is a 'true' end, these games never do have one. The endings each explore rather different aspects of the world.

YES, the game is pricey! I won't be able to buy it unless it's on sale. Hooray, food until the next paycheck for me!
