If you try, you turn into a mummy! And how could it get discovered? You're just kissing someone one day and you realize "...I could sacrifice part of my old age right now?" I simply do not have the requisite braincells to figure out how such a power works. Confusion, I am. Also, the irony of a literal supervillain criticizing the heroes' morals, lol. Amusing. And in response to the Note: actually, never heard this one before. If it's a famous one, I'm not sure why that might be, but I don't think I've even seen something like this recommended to me. Nice to hear it for the first time now! (And yes, the sfx and ambience are on point.)
Hmm, maybe it's just innate knowledge? The way humans are born knowing how to cry and some animals are born already knowing how to walk or hunt. Perhaps with certain superpowers, you're born just instinctively *knowing* how to do certain things before you have the words to explain what it is? I do like my villains and heroes best when it's hard to tell which are the real good guys. I probably tend to gravitate towards stories like that. :p I've heard this script quite a few times. But it is older, so probably not many people are currently doing it -- maybe that's why you haven't seen it? I'm glad I got to be the first one you heard! Thank you!
The attention to detail (in background audio, emotional delivery and artwork) are stunning..! I LOVE the opal-style gems on the character too - I get the feeling that was a deliberate choice, and it works so darn well on so many layers

Oh, it was totally in the script that she starts wiping down her tools at that part! It was kind of hard to find a sound effect that matched it, but I wanted it to be in there! The only thing I kind of added about that was that she throws down the last tool. There was a lot of great detail from the script that I made sure to include. There's one thing I'm kicking myself for missing, though - she was supposed to drop a bunch of tools when the anti-hero grabs her arm and spins her around. Ah well, there's always something.
Oh I love this script! It is one of my favorites as well. I am really glad you did this one. It was great to hear your version, and the details you added about the scene being in a lab were so good. Do you have other older scripts that you like that you might try to do yourself?
I do! And a good number of them are by softlikestatic, because the way she writes pining and confessions of love is just *chef's kiss*. I have always had a weakness for the trope of mutual pining. But yes, there are quite a few older scripts I've still got saved. ❤️ It's difficult to convey a setting like a laboratory with just sound effects, so I understand why a lot of those details usually get dropped, and the script is amazing and emotional enough that you really don't need to know that... but doesn't it just add a whole other dimension when you get those nuances? That was how I felt when I read the script after having heard it once and I realized all the subtle little detail static had thought of. Huh, it's interesting to hear what people think the different elements look like. I wouldn't have thought of a battery but I can see it. It was just sort of a canister that I added symbols to, and then when I got into the video editing app I played around with adding animation effects in different ways. Thank you for the suggestion! Hehe, I tend to pick scripts based on content rather than length, and I have a slower speaking style, so most of them end up longer than usual no matter how short the original script is. The editing is a problem, it gets away from me no matter how much I tell myself I am NOT going to add lots of crazy details this time! Now that I have the knowledge to do more, I really don't know how to rein myself in. But yeah, with my speaking style alone, my videos are always going to be a little longer than the average. Add to that the fact that I care a lot about character depth, which is difficult to get in a super short script, and it gets really hard to keep it short. But I will keep your words in mind when I'm choosing my scripts! Thank you for the feedback!
Woupd say it's your hornieat audio to date but that crown still gies to the immortal lady (I'm bad with names. Forgor my own once) Clearly the writer has a lit more to this setting and I gotta say I'm both entertained and intrigued.

I did probably do a little too much with the characters moving back and forth, but stuff like adding special effect stickers of electric spheres in the video editing app takes almost no time, so that doesn't count... XD Look, I'm trying!! lol XDD
I'd most likely be an anti-hero rather than a regular hero. I'm willing to go certain places most of the won't. So, closer to Batman. Also, those defenses wouldn't keep me out, unless I wanted them too. XD
