You guys should know I don’t like to jump on the hype train just because something is new and popular...but if I’m playing a game I love with great music there’s a 99.9% chance I will want to cover something from it 😂 And I haven’t been able to stop listening to the soundtrack since I started this one! ❤️
It didn’t take long for this theme to steal my heart, especially with the many different ways it appears in the soundtrack! I initially took inspiration from the slower two piano version, but definitely took some liberties with the tempo and harmonies - this theme is beautiful no matter how you spin it!

This song hits harder once you realize there’s no happy ending in Three Houses. No matter which route.
The Golden deer ending is pretty positive
@@Michael-uf4sp Yeah, but at bare minimum Dimitri, Edelgard, Hubert, and Rhea, all of whom are at least somewhat sympathetic characters, are dead by the end. Anyone you didn’t recruit is also probably dead.
True, the ending is framed in an optimistic way, befitting who the route is about, but there’s no golden ending where all sympathetic characters survive, which is probably what OP of the comment meant.

I've been trying to play Three Houses again (after 330 hours of playing one game you tend to get board) then this pops up.
Tbh It hurts my heart everytime I kill Edelgard on different routes, I've come to love Black Eagles and her route so much that the thought of me having no option but to slay her on other routes is sad. Offffff this song keeps on replaying in my head everytime I kill her, I just want her to be happy :
I feel this, and since I did Crimson Flower first I feel like I am so biased against all the other routes too 😂

I was so glad I killed Edelgard after the sick shit she pulled on Dimitri man. I haven't play black eagles and I'm halfway through golden deer so no spoilers please.
Mayo shit man, if you haven’t played Edelgard’s route than that’s why you hate her. Crimson rose really recontextualizes most of the narrative, and although, Edelgard still does questionable things. You can really get behind her cause.
Julian Es El Mejor Not really. Spoilers for crimson flower, verdant wind, and silver snow:
The majority of what edelgard was fighting for was false.
1) She was fighting against the church because she feels that nemesis was the good guy.
This is completely false. It’s true that the church manipulated history, but edelgard is doing the same thing, although unintentionally
2) she feels that the church is responsible for the crest system
This is kind of true. The church does say that crests are a gift from god. However, the teachings of the church do not comply with crest discrimination. This is shown through the books in the library. However, the church has little political influence, so they can’t really do anything about nobles leveraging their power with crests. And even without crests nobles will find other ways to discriminate. Money, bloodline, and more. If you want to eliminate this type of discrimination you have to end the nobility and put in a Democracy or republic. Unfortunately, edelgard doesn’t do that. Instead she opts for a mertocratic empire, which honestly is only slightly better than a familial empire.
3) the church fragmented the empire and then fragmented the kingdom
Throughout the game it’s shown the church has little influence in political affairs unless someone points their sword at the church. Im very confident the church had little to do with the split of the empire. Revolutions happen all the time due to disagreements.
Edelgard’s objectives were noble, but most of them were false. I honestly think Dimitri had the best idea for fodlan. Bringing common people into the government and decreasing the power of nobility is the best way to go to eliminate discrimination. However, I do respect edelgard for fighting for what she believes in. That is honorable.

Thanks!! The two piano version this one is based on does have a bit different harmonies, but that's also why I added the extra choruses to include all versions and my own variations 😂 The RBY was super fun to try out for this one!

Oh this is a really lovely cover the song and I think it really captures a lot of the essence of Edelgard as a character. At least on her route. I've not played the others yet. Moody and lonely, but passionately hopeful. And I feel like it especially works well with how she gradually opens up over the course of her route and is able to finally be an emotional vulnerable person for once in her life and a softer, kinder one.

This cover was the one that inspired me to buy a violin and sign up for violin lessons in hopes of learning how to play it myself in the future. But then the pandemic happened and I have not touched the violin since because no one is willing to teach me in person 🙃

OK I finally listened to this, was waiting til I got further in the game (I'm now 30 hours in). This is so stunning!!! I am really enjoying the soundtrack themes as well, love how they intertwine throughout. Can't wait to listen to this arrangement again once the game crushes my heart. 😭😭😭

wow, I had no idea about the original name!! It took me a while to realize the song was sung from her perspective, I guess the title would've made that quicker for me to realize but its not nearly as catchy of a name 😂
