This is my favorite g shock. I've had it for a couple of days and absolutely love it. It doesn't feel like a typical g shock and it looks great. Thinner than my planet ocean which is a nice change from Casio.

Finally someone that actually measures the case correctly, so many others (and Casio themselves) just measure from the ends of the widest bits and say that’s the case size when it’s far from the actual case size, the correct way is from the 2 to 8 position because that’s what it is, well done this man 😉👏🏻
This is an awesome insight of where this G Steel Technology is going, this guy is seriously an awesome watch, you're not the only one who's going to be owning this watch though, you did awesome on this Overview.
I have the GSTB400CD - 1A3 which has the green bezel and whilst the resizing makes it a little more comfortable, they have sacrificed the second hand and the digital display. I also have a B300 and the digital display is so much easier to see, in certain light conditions I can't see the display on the B400 unless I use the light. Having no second hand is no biggy for me though it does take a little getting use to as I do like to see that movement. I'm not complaining I love this watch, I just wanted to point those things out as they may be deal breakers for others considering buying one.

I just got the gst 300 with the negative display and I love it it's easily readable unlike my gst 400 with its totally unless tiny dark unreadable display and no auto light either it's a nice looking watch but other than telling the basic time with the hands it's next to unless for anything else you can't even make the date out on the gst 400 unless you have perfect vision and the correct angle in perfect light, so all in all much prefer the gst 300 anyday as it does everything nicely and is actually usable....

my first G-Shock was this exact model since I prefer analog display. nearly all preceding models were too big and thick for my 6.75" wrist. This model seemed to fit just fine and the lightweight was a plus. Not big at all. The phone connectivity was novel and worked well once I completed handshaking. I turned it off and will just sync every few months. The only other feature I use will be the stopwatch. The LCD is very small and I am unable to view it with my presbyopia (far sighted) eyeballs unless I put on glasses. Ambient light must be below perpendicular (closer to 6 o'clock) for best LCD reflectivity. The 3 sec max LED back/side lighting may not stay on long enough for you to view LCD unless repeated stabs of the button is performed. Overall, I'm happy with my first G-Shock ... sitting alongside Breitlings, Cartier, Grand Seiko, Timex.... The B400 will be my go-to, daily, knockabout wear. I also will use this as a handlebar strap on ... on the motorcycle, lending to charging time.
I own the black one. What I wish it had was the backlight movement detector and timer. It would come in handy when using the functions. As for Bluetooth, you don't have to do anything. It will automatically update your watch(es) throughout the day. I think Casio is moving toward this and away from MB6 because the governments keep threatening to shut down the atomic clocks. Well you are right telling them about lume, they must! But I disagree on the metal vs soft keeper, I am quite fond of the one on the gw9400 and I do think it belongs on the gst range as well.
For anyone wanting a nice but cheap watch I still think the Casio edifice EFS S550DR solar / sapphire takes some beating for its premium looks at such a great price and now you can pick them up for £120 and they look worth three times that in quality and style a truly beautiful watch..
Very nice, the strap looks very comfortable. The keeper on the MTG drive me nuts, it's too big and doesn't hold position, at least on my small wrist. I just picked up the Blue Phoenix limited edition of the MTG, it's pretty massive on the wrist but the mirror blue finish on the case is something else.
I don't know if it's the vidéo that does that but I don't see anything on the displays of this watch except when you light it in the dark, the large one of the GST-B200 seem much better!
So I just got mine and while I do like it, that 'seconds' display and the bottom middle display are so hard to see compared to my old GST-S100G, like sure the S100 is bigger but I feel like the size of the digital displays was good, they're too small on the GST-B400BB-1A I got. One day while at work my S100 just died, no 'LOW', no 'CHG'; nothing, I didn't think it was a battery issue but I brought it home and found some light sources and also put it on the windowsill during the day. Actually before all that, I took off the backplate and took out the battery, it read 2.1V, checking online for the spec sheet for the CTL920 battery, it says the nominal voltage is 2.3V so at this point I'm like, no way it's the battery but I put the watch back together and get charging/recharging. At the same time I also ordered a replacement battery which came 3 days or so later. Checking the voltage on the new battery, out of the box; 2.3V. Taking apart the watch again after charging for a few days, guess what, the old battery now read 2.3V, so obviously the charging system of the watch was working, the battery was working. I dunno why I guess the module just died after 6 years of daily use. The B400 is lighter, thinner, I like it
I just got mine yesterday, - awesome watch!, though i have not fully understood the bluetooth thingie yet, because english is not my native language, but i will get it in time.. and also dont understand the use of the app for it,- i didnt want a heavy watch, so this is ideal, but still gives the "feel" of a big watch, thanks for the presentation! greets, Levi in Sweden

Good morning, thank you very much for sharing watch videos. I have a question. Is it worth buying the GT B500 instead of the B400 just because of the size? Since I like the look of the Gst B400 and the rubber strap it has, but I would go for the GST-B500 just because of the size. Perhaps for those with large wrists this does not matter, but for me who has a 16 to 16.5 cm wrist size does matter.
They removed a very useful second hand ... :( All useful information was shoved into deep wells with negative displays of low quality. Most of the time in the video I just don't see what they show !!! The glass is less recessed into the case compared to the previous GST models relative to the bezel, it will scratch very easily. As a result, the watch is very stylish and thin, but it has new flaws that were not in the past GST. Why do that, Casio?
I own the GST-B200D, and I must say, the dial layout of the B400 is not one, but multiple steps back. No seconds hand, but a lousy little lcd display that belongs to a cheap AWG-M100. No cleanly designed white arrow to show you the charging state or selected mode, but a kind of “turbine wheel” that is far less legible. Why ditch the gorgeous big STN display of the B200 and replace it with two tiny lcd’s? Less is more, those 2 displays look messy. Lume on mine is actually pretty good, but I have to agree with Rob, it misses lume on the markers. The only reason I would consider adding a B400 to the collection is the new colours. The B400BD, (black case and bracelet, blue dial) looks absolutely stunning, but is hard to obtain in Europe for the moment.
The dials (that turbine) doesn't make sense maybe because I've the GST-S100D-1A4DR but they've been going in that what looks like a fatuous direction and sticking to it lately.
@Random Rob, the GST-B500 is coming out in Japan this month (april 2022). Probably Casio won't have listened to you and added lume. No analog seconds hand either. You"ll have to keep making videos until they do listen.
Was wondering when gshock will make a steel version of the fatter square based on dwd5500 or gw5510.. with a screwback option. The original square already comes with gmwb5000
Dunno if you pulled the trigger on this yet? but I have a g shock 2100 with the exact same mineral glass that I've been wearing as a daily beater for over a year and the glass is spotless, not a scratch on it
G-Steel is the affordable alternative to the MTG line - the MTG is the affordable alternative to the MRG. I've never owned a GSteel, but have heard the featured module is a v.under-rated. Maybe Kiko Ibe follows Random Rob, perhaps a Random Rob limited edition square will one day become a reality .....
GST series is great. Very impressed by my B200. Good looking, accurate, reliable, solar, perfect fit and finish, easy setup with Bluetooth, a killer combo.
Hi, I recently purchased a G Shock GST B 400 1Adr and I personally find it difficult to read the watch. Often I need to check the time from the mobile. I only wish if Casio would had done something special to read the watch. They need to understand that with a dark back ground dial, the readings should come with a light colour. Not so happy with the purchase.
I just love this watch, but I don't know why Casio still uses this teeny tiny LCD displays. I got the Edifice ECB-10PB-1A, it's bluetooth, has a dedicated arrow for stopwatch and countdown timers, but the best thing is that the display is far more bigger which actually makes it usable. Of course its not a gshock, so only 10bar and no tough solar, but the black ion coating looks awesome. I was looking at the specs of the G steel and it only has 60 minutes countdown timer... come on.. this is a joke.
Seen it in person, have 24 G☆Shocks now and... don't like those 9-3 screws, makes it look like 2 froggy eyes. And... no seconds hand (don't like that despite deigital seconds) but those screws...
Can somebody please tell me whether straps are easily removable? I mean like push mechanism sort of thing found in other watches. I want to have the resin bands and also be able to switch to stainless steel bands. Is it possible?
I have a question for you - why watchmakers don't use black + normal light when makes a watch!? Everyone knows when you blacklight pointers they continious to glow for some time and it can be very handy imo.
Well when everyone complains about watch size all the time the result is smaller displays. Just got my B100 and don’t understand what the fuss about it’s size is all about. G-Shocks are supposed to be big, and I would hardly call the 100 big.
I went for the b400 liked the b100 better myself but I only have a 17 inch wrist and that does tend to make it a bit big to wear as your daily watch... All the best
I bought the all-steel version just to get its all-grey dial, and then I swapped the strap to the rubber one. No color what so ever. Just as I want it.
Lume is a bad idea with this one. You wouldn't want your enemy spot you instantly. But then again, it has lume on the hands that means they don't know what direction they should be going. Kinda funny.
I bought one and it's my 1st G-SHOCK .... The display is useless unless you use the light.... I'm a bit disappointed so far but the jury is still out and the manual is garbage. I hope someone does a How To tutorial on TH-cam
That's a good looking watch. I don't think most watches are cased in China though. Ali Express of course, and all the thousands of same old, same old microbrands, but Swiss, and German watches aren't, Seiko are cased in Japan and Malaysia, Orient is cased in Japan. OK if you include Daniel Wellington, MVMT, Spaghetti Scametti etc, yes, they're churned out from Chinese factories. But we should distinguish what is meant by most watches.

@@e28forever30 Thanks for the info!
Does this have a "find my phone" feature?
Hi, I recently purchased a G Shock GST B 400 1Adr and I personally find it difficult to read the watch. Often I need to check the time from the mobile. I only wish if Casio would had done something special to read the watch. They need to understand that with a dark back ground dial, the readings should come with a light colour. Not so happy with the purchase.
Can it display the second time zone always on the digital display?
Very nice. Thanks
Rob hi I cannot figure out auto lights with flick the wrist
Model is g shock gst b500
RTFM
It needs multiband, far better than bluetooth if you're in a radio tower country
45mm would be sweet
Can somebody please tell me whether straps are easily removable? I mean like push mechanism sort of thing found in other watches. I want to have the resin bands and also be able to switch to stainless steel bands. Is it possible?
Negative display is too small and hard to see. Deal breaker for me.
I don't agree. Easy to read outside. Challenging at times indoors though. I love mine.
Agree the display is terrible but hey. Most people don't buy it for that reason
sounds good
I've been checking for reviews on this one (you're the first I think) and the AWM-500. Are you getting that one as well...?
I will have to look into that one.
Do you think this watch is suit for sport?
Whats the watch in the background that you point to please at the beginning of the video?
G-Shock gmwb5000-tr9 “Tran Tixxii”
It tells me digitally what the time is but the big hand is 20 minutes late and I don’t understand why
Because you purchased a fake one.
can you add the metal band later?
Yes. Quick release.
Looks like the metal version of the GA-2000
Little larger but close
What is your wrist size, please?
Does GSTB400 watch have phone finder?
Да. Через приложение.
@@MrErofa I didn't understand. Please, speak to me in English or translate your answer to English.
What's the difference between this one and the b100??
Use your eyes.
I can’t understand solar charge. I see always in the middle
Can't find one of these to buy.
Look harder
Tile scratches my stainless band.
Lume is a bad idea with this one. You wouldn't want your enemy spot you instantly. But then again, it has lume on the hands that means they don't know what direction they should be going. Kinda funny.
G-shock is all about DIGITAL to me. This design makes me think Pro Trek
Which Protrek? They are digital and analogue too :-)
Are you sotoy? What type of protrek by the way?
I doubt Casio is watching your videos and using them to make changes on the Gshock 😂 but ok bud
Believe it bro
Nice watch but I hate negative displays. Why make it so difficult to read at a quick glance.
Nice watch i
I'll take it.
I find those watches hard to set the time.
I bought one and it's my 1st G-SHOCK .... The display is useless unless you use the light.... I'm a bit disappointed so far but the jury is still out and the manual is garbage. I hope someone does a How To tutorial on TH-cam
What is ur wrist size dear?
That's a good looking watch. I don't think most watches are cased in China though. Ali Express of course, and all the thousands of same old, same old microbrands, but Swiss, and German watches aren't, Seiko are cased in Japan and Malaysia, Orient is cased in Japan. OK if you include Daniel Wellington, MVMT, Spaghetti Scametti etc, yes, they're churned out from Chinese factories. But we should distinguish what is meant by most watches.
You’d be surprised at the work being done for the Swiss in China..
Some are made in Japan and some are Cased in Thailand, for example, the very famous GA7004A in Red.
@@tonychen3368 That's right Tony. I have the red G-Shock GA-700 and it's cased in Thailand, as is my GG-1000 Mudmaster also cased in Thailand. My Casio Royale AE-1200 is assembled in China though.
@@brianmsahin And since that is an Casio Standard all standards like my very own Negative big display AE1500WH is all gonna be made in China, and hey, the GAB21001A is also cased in China.
Is that negative display ok? Can you easly read the data?
No
Nope
Sad to see you cave to pressure and delete the Smith's video. Looks like Eddie wins. Was info people needed to hear. Bad choice.
It’s not deleted. I am checking with legal to make sure his claims of suing Kevin and I are not valid. That owner is a real something for sure.
@@RandomRobReviews I was so close to buying one of his watches. So glad I didn't.
GST-B200 for me. Excellent contrast digital display that is large and easily readable. Seconds hand, perfect strap, and I prefer it's readable arrow sub dial vs the turbine. Agree that it needs Sapphire and more lume. Still the best G-Steel by far, and is amazing value compared to MT-G and MR-G.
I bought this very nice watch but, it has unacceptable small negative readable screens
GST b100 best..
Synching my G-Shocks to my IPhone via Casio Ap couldn't be easier.
Let's all hope Casio continues to support that app and software. Unfortunately, there's no guarantee that it will be there long term.
@@Zephyrdaze1819 been there for quite awhile. Why wouldn’t they support it?
@@capngeo2002 As we have all seen, apps come and go. Ever try to update an app on an old device (apple for instance) and find it will not work?
@@Zephyrdaze1819 lmfao It's Casio not some clown writing code in mom's basement.
