The part people seem to not get is that the ost for that fight is titled "Division by Zero" which mathematically speaking is physically impossible (at least in basic math), which was an extremely clever way to point out that Rock cannot begin to hope to win this fight.
Division by zero is also somewhat synonymous with "death", which is probably the implication here.

I thought it points out that Megaman's arm gets divided from his body by Zero.

@@neoqwerty He's never been the most efficient tool in the shed. I still don't get why he didn't listen to Proto Man in Mega Man 9. I mean, it's literally Proto Man. Your common sense should've stopped you in the first place and now this other robot is telling you "Bro what the hell are you doing". I've always seen that scene as weird, but oh well.
You'd do the same if it was in the enemy base.
Especially when Bass also didn't attack at first.
Imagine if Zero had his Z-saber when he battled Megaman.

In X4, Zero cut the arm of Sigma with a freaking pipe.
Megaman being weaker than Sigma, yeah, his bare hands should do the job.

@@GameplayComCoisasWith ONE bare hand, at that, if you look closely his other hand isn't even at the ready. He literally just swiped Sigma's arm off midway through a dash one-handed.

well, you see, Wily didnt have any government funding to be able to create an actually good machine, but then one day Wily had the brilliant idea of stealing Dr. Light's money and thus, Zero was born

@@Megaman-2407 well to be fair in most games when megaman is facing right he shoots with his left arm and viceversa, so technically he always has two arm cannons

Nice animation! Im so glad I decided to look up Devision by Zero today. Also, you literally have no idea how glad I am that you didn’t use the original game’s Wily Capsule SFX. This one is still difficult to listen to, as they typically are, especially with my increased overexposure threshold. But it’s DEFINITELY much more bearable.
It's kinda interesting how Proto Zero realizes Rock getting defensive and decides to indulge him on combat.
Or at least that's my opinion, I don't really know what Zero's thought process in the original game (Mega Man Unlimited) even is as he picks a fight with the Super Fighting Robot himself.
And *wins.*
I did create my own version of this story, but it was a bit different than Unlimited’s storyline. If you could find my comment about it, and check it out and let me know what you think about it, that would be great.
I'm not sure in unlimited, but canonically, Zero's first action was to rip through an entire Unit of Maverick Hunters and cause Sigma to get called in to deal with him because he's the strongest combat Reploid at the time.
His second action was to attack Sigma and giggle most of the way through the fight with a big mean grin like he's having the time of his life destroying things.
His third was to start beating the scrap out of Sigma once he ripped his saber arm off with a bare hand, so badly that Sigma loses most of the skin on his face from Zero's punches and gets some of his leg torn off, again with Zero just bare-handedly wailing on him.
And that? That's not Zero being Maverick. That's Zero's intended personality. Zero is so evil down to his very soul that the Maverick Virus ravaging his systems TURNED HIM GOOD.

@@neoqwertyI wouldn’t say that’s his default personality because he had major programming errors in addition to the virus Wily uploaded to him. He’d probably still be evil, just subservient to Doctor Wily as well.

@@dylanzlol7293 X was designed to be superior to Mega man in every possible way. The only thing that Rock MIGHT have on X, would be the type and variety of Special Weapons that they each acquired over the course of their battles against enemies. Both gain really powerful weapons, but Rock has more weapons that generally violate the laws of physics, like Gravity Hold, Time Stopper, Black Hole Bomb, and many others. X would have to be able to counter each of them.
In a long-term battle, X is essentially invincible, as he will actively adapt and learn from his battles and gain new abilities, as he was designed to do. This is shown by X being able to seal away the Dark Elf in the Zero era. The Dark Elf was powerful enough to control and even reprogram EVERY Reploid in the world instantly, so the amount of power needed to pull that off would be obscene.
It would certainly be a close match, to be sure.
I really like this animation, good job! And impressive, Megaman Unlimited content in 2022.
Not sure why you didn’t use zero’s more dramatic theme (from unlimited) a 2nd time in your more cinematic style.
The remixed regular zero theme kinda killed the mood for me
Looks like I'm not the only one who felt the same way.
Zero's regular theme is more synonymous with heroics, him showing up to save you or win the day. Or empowering you when you finally get to play as him.
It's not the desperate struggle that the X vs Zero theme and subsequently the Division by Zero remix tells.

Really, though, these older style megaman animations do not need it. The room is already minimalist. It looked pretty bad and if I hadn't seen the classic first, I would wonder what I was even looking at.

Mega Man Unlimited suddenly became more popular after MMU2 trailer, lol
I kinda came up with a story like this to tie classic and X together. It was basically, Dr. Light sends Rock, Proto Man and Bass to find out what Wily’s doing. Dr. Light is nearly done with X, and Wily has been working on Zero. Wily sics Proto-Zero on them while he finishes off Zero. But, Proto-Zero accidentally mortally wounds Wily, so he orders his auto-building computer to finish Zero before he dies. Proto-Zero roundly beats the heroes asses, cutting Bass in two with just his arm, and donutting Proto Man. Mega Man is badly wounded and manages barely to cause a short circuit in Proto-Zero. He escapes and barely gets to see X being sealed before he dies permanently. Zero is moved to the lab where he is found in 21XX by the computer-operated mobile module he is being built in. The End.
I think it’s a pretty good idea. Anyone else?

At that point, you will also have to include Power and Speed Gear to Zero as well since it is Dr. Wily invention anyway. Not that Zero need that if you includes Dark Hold.

zero might have more capabilities for getting stronger but that doesn't mean mega man can't put up a good fight I heard the creator of the series said they were similar.
I liked the classic version better without the unnecessary zooming in and out.

The weakness would be simply your normal shot! No extras, no specials, just simply your normality. But you have to be precise on hitting his head. Zero’s attacks can stay, but one hit from him and you instantly die. I mean it’s still extremely difficult, but that’s one way.

Some things that don't work like in the game like the shield attacker not shooting and getting killed with just a charge shot, met shooting 1 bullet instead of 3, but those don't matter much because the animation is good
