  • #Russia's invasion of #Ukraine has triggered heated debate on whether the international community should strive for the establishment of a 'Special Tribunal for Aggression'.
This IHL Talk explored various legal issues related to the potential establishment of such a tribunal and will discussed whether it is the best or most appropriate option to make sure that the crime of #aggression does not go unpunished.

Interesting debate indeed. when one speaker talked about critics on ICC in the context of Africa he should have mentioned the failure to investigate efficiently on the Georgian Situation as well. It is clear that the politics played a huge role on the lengthy investigation of ICC on the Georgian situation and its failure to investigate other crimes rather just one (War crime) and only one episode of atrocity. So, it would have been more interesting if the speakers mentioned Georgian situation as well, because the Aggressor was Russia at that time, and also talk more about the failure of International Community to react on the aggression of Russian Federation against Georgia.
