His voice was shaky because this was the performance after he had won, it was 2:30 in the morning, and he was very emotional. He always is while performing, he sometimes breaks down in tears during his concerts. And I love him so much because of this. Not everyone's cup of tea, I undestand. He won't do great in ESC, but I don't think he cares, he wanted to win Sanremo.
Marco's live singing is always excellent, I am sure whoever has been to his concerts knows this very well (I am one of them). I love this ballad and I never get tired of listening to it both in the live and recorded version. I'm sure he will be amazing in his performance at Eurovision and I agree that he is not too bothered about winning in any case. I think comparing Marco to Manneskin makes no sense at all.
Ok I read a lot of comments and I want to clarify, this IS NOT the final performance after he won, guys, there are no confetti on the floor and when he sang for the last time there were. That said I love Marco and the song and I hope he will do amazing and even if he won't then I hope he'll gain more fans and love from the people all over Europe.
E noi in Italia non pensiamo ALL'ESC. Per niente. Grazie
@2.45 authomatic generated subtitle is wrong. Actually, even a native may confound these two sentences: "che ci rifanno due vite" "che giri fanno due vite" as there is only one slightly different sound of "c" and "g". The second one is the sang phrase which translates: "what turn two lives take" or even "how two lives keep turning"
Look this is not MY thing, but I think this is good entry especially this year full of bands, some wacky stuff and girl bops but very few ballads (some yes but not all will qualify). It’s been in my head for a while. I knew this would happen 😆. I love Italian and I think I was too focussed on wanting to understand it. He’s such a passionate performer and I think this will do great
What I find silly about Sanremo is that the winning song gets sung at least three times in the final evening, the last time being very late at night after the proclamation. In this last performance Marco was simply exhausted and it's a miracle he still managed to sing it that well. That said, this is not a song that can do well at ESC. It's far too complicated and convoluted, with difficult lyrics. He's got amazing vocals but only people who understand Italian and love Italian love songs will really appreciate. p.s. those autogenerated subtitles made a real mess of the lyrics.
So many people like Due Vite, not only Italian speakers. But of course it doesn’t have all the main ingredients for a win in ESC. But who cares, it’s not a song designed with that aim. The performance will honours the stage.
... well, if not for the fact that this is nothing like a love song, but I guess that's just a detail when all that counts is whether a song is up-beat or not...

Hi there... thanks for listening an italian singer, but i have to explain that first of all is not the Eurovision Stage but Sanremo stage, the italian singing contest wich comes usaually on february, so before the European Song Contest and usually the winner of the italian contest Sanremo, goes to represent Italy to the Eurovision, wich comes later than Sanremo. The lyrics here that he personally wrote with other two, are fantastic. When he open his arms is not trying to let the public sing, because no one knows the song because is like i said, a contest, so the song of each one singer present by partecipating at the italian contest in Sanremo, it is sung there at the very first time, so the public of course never eared it before and that's why they are not singing in respond to him. He opened his arms for some other reasons, probably because it goes with the lyrics and the music. In that moment he sings: "e meno male..." thet we can translate in sort of "and thank God" refering that they had fucked each other once more outside the club.... e meno male"... meaning thanks god that we did it! TG that happened again... so the arm is underlining the fact that happened instead of not doing it.

I love your reactions in general, but this one was honestly quite bad, uninspired and uninspiring, sorry! First, you didn't realize that this performance was his winning performance, 5th time he was performing it in the Sanremo week, that's why he was emotional and skipped a verse for the audience to sing (and it was singing and could be heard very well, it must have been removed here). Also it was past 2am on the final night, imagine that. Second, you turned on *autogenerated* Italian subtitles that were not accurate to begin with, I assume you know with what kind of nonsense autogenerated subs can come up with, and then quite unnecessarily fixated on the lyrics with your, sorry to say, not even basic Italian. I'm not being rude, just sincere, as a person who speaks 5 languages, and who has learned another 3, a language teacher and a translator, I know very well what kind of level is when you can't recognize one of the 10 most frequent verbs in a language. Why do that, I honestly can't fathom. 99% of your reactions are smashing, but this one is unfortunately a fail.
Thanks for this 😊 I actually agree with you. I mentioned somewhere in the video that this is not working well at all, mainly because of my hyper focus on lyrics which were translated wrong anyway 😆. I wouldn’t have ordinarily realised all the other stuff (the time of night, etc) unless I knew Sam Remo well enough. I knew this would not make people happy at all. I truly wish I was better at Italian and got deceived by the auto generated lyrics. If I were better at Italian, I would have picked this up as fare within the overall context of the sentence, rather than recognising it for what it is on its own 😔. What’s the level below “basic”? Maybe non existent? 😆 Thanks for your comment, and it’s all good as I truly am expecting this! Take care

Going forward, it might be a good idea to focus the reaction first on the music, and then research a bit about the song, the lyrics, the artist, the performance, and the rest of the background elements, and then conclude your video with your opinion based on the song and that additional info, I think it would make every reaction wholesome and "watchworthy", regardless if people actually agree with your reaction/impression or not. I agree entirely with you. For me, appreciate that the vocals overall are excellent but this is just not a song I’m excited about hearing in Liverpool. But, there are probably only going to be 2 or 3 male solo power songs in the final (Italy and 1 or 2 of Switzerland, Cyprus and Greece), so I think it will stand out. Out of the 4 it’s number 3 for me of the male solo songs. It just doesn’t grip me. I would love Italy to send more songs like Måneskin and whoever did Occidentalis Karma. There seems so little variation in Italys’ entries for me and when the same thing comes again and again I just feel like there is a lack of the Italian broadcaster actually caring about eurovision itself. But, like I say, I can appreciate he has a great voice.
This year's Sanremo was pretty weak overall... He was the best singer by far, but the song itself is pretty boring. And you're right, the vast majority of people watching the festival and working in it don't really care about Eurovision

@@alfredo8510 I totally agree with you. Marco was amazing in the show in germany. The other day I wrote in a group of Eurovision fans on Facebook, that I wished it would be about the music and the quality of the artists. Told them that I thought the finnish song was for the circus and maybe an afterskiieng party but not for a song contest, because he can't sing. They didn't like my comment 🙈
I have a discipline when watching Eurovision live (my general musical interests are hardcore punk rock and 20th and 21st century classical music) that I make notes on a song only while the three minute song is being sung and when I saw this at the ESC My response was "Oh he has trampolinists" It was as if the directors of that song felt that his voice and performance wouldn't be enough. I remember seeing a Così Fan Tutte and it was clear that the director didn't trust the music and singing to carry the interest of the audience so we had dancers and all sorts in the background which distracted me. The same with the trampolinists LOL
Will you react to Madame (il bene nel male) or Lazza (Cenere) both from San Remo 2023? If you haven't already of course. Definitely one of them should have been at ESC this year but... Italy chose Marco Mengoni instead.
This one is awkward in that I really like Marco himself, but this song just never really rises past "oh this is nice" for me. I'd say it's solid, but just not competitive.
Complimenti a Marco.
If you want to talk about the lyrics, then please look for the correct ones, not at the self-generated TH-cam transcripts. If you want to talk about the song, then please make sure it's the right video and don't get distracted by / try to understand the transcripts. This could have been a much better analysis..
I’m no expert mate but you being a music teacher should have appreciated this a lot more than you did! Yes we all have our own preferences etc but your reaction is far too basic & not expert sounding at all. You concentrated too much on the lyrics that you didn’t respect to the song like it really deserves.
Why is this guy so concerned about the lyrics? He is not being judged on the lyrics at eurovision; I would think it would be his vocals and the song itself.
worst music teacher reaction on youtube......you said literally nothing. aww....nice....passion....its nothing what i wanted to hear from a music teacher. but whatever...
Thanks again, bias confirmed. Ever since Måneskin won I've been listening to a lot more Italian music, and was excited to hear this year's entry, only to be slightly disappointed when I did. There's nothing wrong with this really, but I already forgot it after the first listen, and will likely forget it again before the competition. It's not even bland or boring, I could happily add this to my Italian playlist, it just doesn't captivate me in the same way as many other songs or artists do. (To be fair this version is weaker than the one from before he'd won Sanremo.)
It’s impossible to give something like Måneskin every single year. Only ABBA can compare so far. But the winner of Sanremo is not synced with ESC. That said, several songs from the same Sanremo Festival edition will be good for you, I think you already know that. It means: it’s OK, a non-Eurovision l song that sounds good with decent performance and a respectable ranking even if is not in English, is definitely good enough.
I'm pretty sure if Lazza(the 2nd place at Sanremo 2023) won, we would've a VERY high place in this year's Eurovision. People expect ballads from Italy, and we honestly know well how to do them(aside from that crap we sent last year lmao) so they always place very well, but I think a 2023 non-ballad italian entry would've shaken up a bit the Top 5. Maneskin were a very rare event tbh, Sanremo is always boring AF ballads and sad songs and it's very rare that the cooler pieces win anything.
@@DeadKraken There' s a reason why in the most ancient Festival in the world, slow-tempo ballads use to win so often. Because up-tempo songs are overestimated, since they often show a lack in composition and technique, but still easy music for people who's not able to pay attention musically. Proof is that a lot of people complained about Mengoni going to ESC instead of Lazza or _everyone else_ (without any reason - Sanremo is not a NF) saying it wouldn't fit ESC at all, and then Due Vite got a great 4th place for few point under Israel (which received the very 12 point from Italy overtaking it). How stupid is people, they think to be so clever even in front the evidence, and that's always think to be grand gourmand on compare to the mother of all the Festivals (which is not perfect, but nothing is perfect, and is still better than let's say the Oscars in terms of democracy).

We are the only awake in the whole universe
And I still don't know your desert well
Maybe it's somewhere in my heart
where the sun is always off
where sometimes i lose you
But if I want I catch you
We're still in a time like this
that raises the streets
With heaven one step away
We are the monsters and the fairies
i should call you
tell you the things I feel
But I've run out of excuses
And I have no more defenses
We are a book on the floor
in an empty house
that looks like ours
coffee with lemon
anti hangover
you look like a blurry photo
And we fucked one more night
outside a club
and thank god
if this is the last
Song and then the moon will explode
I'll be there to tell you that you're wrong, you're wrong and you know
The music does not come here.
and you don't sleep
And where will you be, where are you going?
When life then exaggerates
All the runs and slaps, the mistakes you make
when something agitates you
I know you don't sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, never sleep
What turns two lives do
We are the only awake in the whole universe
Screaming some anger on a roof
That no one feels like this
no one watches movies anymore
flowers in your room
my chain mail
We are a book on the floor
in an empty house
that looks like ours
lost in the crowd
How many words
without ever an answer
And we fucked one more night
outside a club
and thank god
if this is the last
Song and then the moon will explode
I'll be there to tell you that you're wrong, you're wrong and you know it
The music does not come here.
and you don't sleep
And where will you be, where are you going?
When life then exaggerates
All the runs and slaps, the mistakes you make
when something agitates you
I know you don't sleep
Turn off the light even if you don't want to
We're standing in the dark wrapped
Just by the sound of the voice
Beyond the madness that dances in all things
Two lives, look what a mess
if this is the last
Song and then the moon will explode
I'll be there to tell you that you're wrong, you're wrong and you know
The music does not come here.
I know that you don't sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, never sleep
What turns do two lives

This year's Sanremo was pretty weak overall... He was the best singer by far, but the song itself is pretty boring. And you're right, the vast majority of people watching the festival and working in it don't really care about Eurovision
Tu a cultura sei proprio messo male
@@alfredo8510 I totally agree with you.
Marco was amazing in the show in germany.
The other day I wrote in a group of Eurovision fans on Facebook, that I wished it would be about the music and the quality of the artists.
Told them that I thought the finnish song was for the circus and maybe an afterskiieng party but not for a song contest, because he can't sing.
They didn't like my comment 🙈
Rifanno is we redo or remake, but I think in the sense of splitting up… he does get very emotional.
I just love Italian composition…💗
Making comparisons between the Maneskin and Mengoni makes no sense. It would be like comparing Sinatra with the Rolling Stones 🙄
I have a discipline when watching Eurovision live
(my general musical interests are hardcore punk rock and 20th and 21st century classical music)
that I make notes on a song only while the three minute song is being sung
and when I saw this at the ESC
My response was "Oh he has trampolinists"
It was as if the directors of that song
felt that his voice and performance wouldn't be enough.
I remember seeing a Così Fan Tutte
and it was clear that the director
didn't trust the music and singing to carry
the interest of the audience
so we had dancers and all sorts in the background
which distracted me.
The same with the trampolinists LOL
Will you react to Madame (il bene nel male) or Lazza (Cenere) both from San Remo 2023? If you haven't already of course. Definitely one of them should have been at ESC this year but... Italy chose Marco Mengoni instead.
L Italia sceglie chi vince a Sanremo.
@@mik3248 ok
The beginning of the song reminds me a bit of Two Caterpillars from Encanto
Wrong video to choose unfortunately. This is after he won so very emotional....and yes everybody did sing it with him!
THERE are some mistakes in transcription.
This one is awkward in that I really like Marco himself, but this song just never really rises past "oh this is nice" for me. I'd say it's solid, but just not competitive.

Or his performance of "Let it Be"
React to his let it be made in Sanremo... 🤯🤯🤯❤️
And try to find an error 🤪no way
Complimenti a Marco.
tbh I think you picked the worst version of this performance on youtube lol. when are you going to portugal?
If you want to talk about the lyrics, then please look for the correct ones, not at the self-generated TH-cam transcripts.
If you want to talk about the song, then please make sure it's the right video and don't get distracted by / try to understand the transcripts.
This could have been a much better analysis..
I’m no expert mate but you being a music teacher should have appreciated this a lot more than you did! Yes we all have our own preferences etc but your reaction is far too basic & not expert sounding at all.
You concentrated too much on the lyrics that you didn’t respect to the song like it really deserves.
I agree!
I agree 100%. I cringed releasing this.
This music teacher is really a music teacher???
