Some of us might have concluded it was Christy Clark, but it was GLEN Clark at the time when this happened. I know it is in the documented picture but some of us couldn't read the small fonts in it.
And with that I’ve finished your series on the Skytrain! These videos have been really good for me and have been a staple for while I cook. Thank you for being so informative and showing new perspectives of the Vancouver metro, the calming atmosphere has been great.
One interseting thing you missed is at Renfrew Station. It is one of only two stations on the Skytrain network to have misaligned platforms! The Eastbound platform is about 5 meters further down the track than the Westbound ones.
This is West Coast Express not SkyTrain but one year on Halloween a guy boarded the WCE wearing a Stanley Ipkiss costume complete with maracas and entertained the other passengers on the train who were also in costume as the train made its way to Mission!
26:57 The reason why the track dips like this is because the broadcasting station for Global News is directly above that section of track. If the track went over the news station their satellite dish would be blocked and they would have to land the news chopper further away from the station because there wouldn’t be room for the landing pad there so instead, the track was built below it
This feature is not necessary for elevators that only stop on two floors, but if an elevator stops at three or more floors and you’re waiting for it and it could go up or down at the floor you’re at, listen to how many chimes you hear when it arrives. If it chimes twice but you wanna go up, don’t get on board because two chimes means the elevator is going down while one chime means it’s going up
Great overview! The Millennium line is definitely looking great so far, though I wish Translink could operate both the 2001 and 2009 Mark IIs on the line, instead of having mainly just the 2001 run on it and the 2009 only showing up occasionally. Riders of the Millennium Line should experience the newer technology of the 2009 Mark IIs and the Mark IIIs (specifically the LED maps) instead of having to only experience outdated technology on the 2001 Mark IIs without the LED maps.
Yeah when it first opened it seemed the other way around with at least half the trains being 2009 mk2s. The new 205-car order will put a monkeywrench into train assignments so we'll see what happens from there
