Hi CC, thank you for your update on Skeletor. I’m fairly new to your channel and am absolutely loving your content. It’s wonderful to watch you with your horses, you’re so knowledgeable. ❤
I live in the uk, am a massive horse lover but can no longer ride due to terminal breast cancer. It was found too late and had already spread to my spine, ribs, femurs and liver. I’ve been fighting though and although I was only given 3-6 months to live in July 2016, I’m still here nearly 8 years later.
I’m not very mobile as you can imagine and tend to live my dreams through others on TH-cam. Your way with your beautiful horses and your empathetic soul is very similar to how I was before I got sick. So I want to thank you for making my days brighter by allowing us to follow your amazing life journey and sharing your gorgeous horses with us.
You’re an incredible human being. Never let anyone make you feel different. 🙏🏻✨❤️

@dreamcatcher3861 I, too, have recently found this channel - I can't seem to help myself, but sometimes reading the comments are as entertaining as the videos. Your comment touched me as deeply as watching this lady saving the world - one fluffy soul at a time. One thing I've always note about people is what they notice, what seems important when they walk in a room - what do they look for? (I'm 68, and I know that we see what we look for) What a lovely comment - even the words you chose made me smile, what an amazing woman you must be. I'm housebound in a wheelchair, so I totally get that your computer is your window to the world - I, too, used to have a fulfilling, rural life, and I live vicariously through videos. I like you, lady - I like feisty, strong, characters - and I wanted to touch base with you and let you know you'll be in my thoughts and prayers. I love watching these animals get a chance, to see them thrive - but all the happiness I felt by the end of this video could not compare to the thrill I felt when you said the dates. I believe in miracles - and you are one💥. Thank you for sharing your story. CONGRATULATIONS! 💖🙏xx

@@ColleenLytle-sq8tx Oh Colleen, what a beautiful message 🫶🏻 Thank you so much.
I believe, very much, in lifting others. I can see you do too. Our priorities change massively when living with a life limiting illness, don’t they.
I see things very differently now. What’s important is how you make people feel. Like you, I’m a people watcher. You learn so much from sitting back and listening don’t you? I believe CC does that with her fur babies.
Thank you again for reaching out, it really made my day.
I hope the sun shines inside your window, as much as it shines outside Colleen, you sound like a beautiful soul. 🌻🌻🌻💛

The suñy days were good for winter depression too.

Skeletors personality is so much like my boy!!! My guy is on stall rest as well after getting his foot stuck between the gate and post. Almost pulled his hoof off but is recovering great! Young smart busy minds like to frolic. He doesn’t understand bucking and loping in his stall is not earning him his turnout back any faster. He likes to work! His face is heart broken when he watches me ride my sister’s horse. Farrier comes this week and we will see how bruised it is internally. First time since the accident. Vet cleared him for light duty but since he doesn’t understand light work we are proceeding with caution. Hopefully both happy boys get back to work soon!

I once had a horse who had quite a bad ligament injury in her hip/back and I was told absolute complete stall rest for the first few months. She was a nutbar like skeletor with a busy mind who always needed to be on the move and she did not cope at all with being locked up in the tiny stable yard and went totally stir crazy. Every time she'd start to feel a bit better she'd literally throw herself around the yard/rear/jump etc and hurt herself again. I also notice she started to wood chew which was really unsual- was obviously super bored. Didn't matter how many toys, slow feeders etc she got. Ended up giving up after a few weeks and built her a temporary yard in the paddock that was slightly larger and could be moved around. At least that way she could pick at the grass (even when it was very short and I could scatter the hay around as well which you can't do on a sand base as safely) and started taking her on long gentle lead walks a few times a week to let her get out of the pen and she stopped the crazy behaviour. Probably took longer to heal that way, but she wouldn't have healed at all trying to keep her on stall rest only so you've gotta do whatever is going to work for the horse you have in the end. Despite a lot of people saying she may never come back to soundness, she ended up eventually being fine with a lot of rehab (took well over a year) and never had any recurrence of problems. Crossing fingers for Skeletor.

I’d thought to myself ..This might have inspired me to (do a whole lot better in hs/ Or take some community college & Then see about Vet Tech school/ internship, training whatever). the aim being learning as much as possible. it’s a profession (I saw an article warning about this very thing a few months ago) that just like Veterinarians (!all that school & investment!) in the US currently these are very high burn out rate professions. that there was experience CC had there before investing and going into her horses makes such great sense!! in watching these, seeing what can go wrong (and or how to remedy this!) plus how observant one need be with their animals while that major chore of getting everything done, all chores in a timely fashion is invaluable. these would be super for a school class, just for .. kids who like animals. so many of us don’t live in Montana and that’s a treat to see too!

Its been 5 years now, I'd never done anything with horses before and so, everyday is still a school day, and I think Im gonna let this lady be one of my teachers as I do most everything on my own with them.

Today, with people actually cultivating hay for cattle and other 4 legged farm animals I would think good grass hay would be easier to find! Whenever I watch your vlogs, I learn something new - about their feed and proper care for horses. I also confess I always want to become a volunteer “horse helper” and muck out areas, distribute feed, and do whatever“ chores” to give you a hand! You are very productive;you get a great deal done in a day- you must sleep soundly!👏🏻👏🏻

I really enjoy watching and learning about horses. Thank you for sharing your days with us. I find it all fascinating and watching you with your horses. I know I get to see the best care possible because you really get to know what their needs are based on each horse. You are such a strong lady, and your horses always seem happy!

Grass hay is 'normal' hay here in the UK; alfalfa fired my horses and ponies up like nobody's business and too easily tipped the ponies over into laminitis territory. I had a little mule who really thrived on 50/50 grass hay and barley straw, as it had so much more fibre.
I never bought a variety-specific hay, just permanent pasture or upland traditional hays, so I would expect to find the odd thistle here and there, as well as nettles and other acceptable pasture 'weeds'; and never minded as (to me) it shows it's not been sprayed and was a genuine permanent pasture hay, not a monoculture grass crop. Some of my animals actually liked the thistles and nettles, and picked them out!

Superb job with skeletal and Nigel. You can see the improvement even though we only see them a little love, your videos, and the excellent narrative that you give us

That giant ball looked like a good idea, but seeing how Skeletor is so aggressive with it, he's at risk for a broken front leg. It's freaking me out.

Your knowledge of vitamins and minerals that you put into the horses food in their rehab journey is very interesting . 🤔
The food and supplements you give Skeletor along with lots of pasture rest will help the ligament to heal.
That shaky plate . Loosening muscle and coordination plus circulation. Who would have thought 😮 but it was a great idea and perfect for you to slip into your horses rehabilitation program.
Nigel will probably live longer and will certainly be more comfortable.
Do you still have Primrose? Or did she find a new home.

Skeletor is amazingly comfortable being handled for a Horse who can't stay still, a little beauty. Good to hear Studman is doing well too. And little Nigel looking so nimble.

We run a black angus farm here in Tennessee & grow straw & hay for cattle & horse farmers, etc. That hay, full of thistle, should've been no more than 8 bucks a square! 12.50?? No way!! I wouldn't buy from them again, either! That was a rip off UGH! 😫😡

I love these updates. I don’t get to comment much because I’m usually watching while doing something. Like now, I’m bagging up freshly dried oregano.
Per usual I always learn something while getting to see your beautiful heard progress.

You’re such a good shepherd of the four legged member in our lives. You always give all of the information anyone would need to know in case they see something questionable in their animals. Thank you for being the person you are, and never change to please anyone. Take care and be well all.

Glad you are having such sweet weather. Love these videos where you go in to details about your care program. That is mostly very new to me since I have not had a horse in a few years. Your research and deep commitment to complete care of individual horses is commendable and NOT COMMON.
