I'm a 73 yr old grandma who has just started to follow your story. All I can say is how much I admire you and your love for your animals and your knowledge and love for the land. The work you put in all on your own just blows me away. God Bless all your work and the care you do for your animals, I'm sure The Lord is so pleased with how you have responded to His calling of tending His Creation.
That was a Lovely comment. 😊❤
Perfectly written. I was thinking the same thing while watching this. She is so impressive. I feel like I want t help. LOL. Love your videos. ❤️🐴
Amen 🍷
So true. She’s an angel is disguise. ❤
This country needs an ARMY of people with horses just like you! Everyone was SCREAMING last year about Supply Chains being cut, no fertilizer for farmers, etc...well------small homesteaders, ranchers, etc. can help!
I am going to be really excited when I can get my own garden going with my own turds!
That is really a good idea, for re forestation too. To get turds and bring them into these places.
@@TheCleverCowgirl You go, girl, and keep up the great work, You ROCK!
Turds are where it's at!!!!loll:)))) Absolutely love this Channel!!! Sincerely Leslie A. Fife😊
@@TheCleverCowgirlwe live in Missouri and topsoil is in short supply, so our horse manure is like black gold to us! So fair we are sticking to raised beds because it grows more and uses less dirt. Lol
Great job! I love the thought of a skid. Need to see what it runs for here. Happy Spring!
I can't believe I enjoyed a 20-minute video about turds so much. LMFAO
Must admit I have never found moving turds so interesting, I never thought I would say that in my lifetime.
😂🤣
Horse poo doesn't even smell bad and now when I catch an odor its SO nostalgic...it's all organic matter, so "it's no big deal"
I love that smell. Reminds me of growing up. Crazy huh? I’m a city girl now but live the country. Love the turd video. LOL.
Is there any form of feces that isn't all organic matter?
Now atop Isle of Montreal here, there occurs many days most of the year around when smelling manure on a mightily industrial scale from our floodplain valley cannot be avoided .. corporate farming odorous as ever 🌬brrrRrr🌬 Years already trying to survey what other metropolitan areas must now also suffer like this without any luck...
Completely understand. The biggest day of the year for my family was when the "Manure Man" came and dumped our compost for the garden. Picture children jumping up and down cheering, "The Manure Man! The Manure Man!" I'm not sure what that says about our family.
What it says about your family is you are survivors!
CC’s work ethic is 100% non stop !!!!!
it's lost on alot of folks these days!
We compost everything here too “black gold”
The liquid gold I drain from the compost is my gardens best friend!
I bet you slept great that night!! Whew! 🙋🏼♀️
LOL, I thought same! :)
Skid steer and horse poop sounds like the perfect day to me. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Exciting news! Our Belgian draft mare had her baby early, and both are doing great-standing and feeding well. We're thrilled to introduce Clever, named after you, to our farm family. My daughter has started watching your videos too!
You named you mare Clever? Fabulous.
That is awesome!
What a great name for a draft-cross. Congrats.
@@TheCleverCowgirl we thought it was actually a lovely name as she came early, already she seems alert and aware she has a vet check tomorrow her mum is very happy but tired she is Bessie she is a beautiful and both of them are being spoilt rotten atm! I love my huge fur babies especially on days like this xx
@@sunnyseacat6857 well she came early and was ok, so we thought it was a good name it’s also after the Clever Cowgirl of course because she is awesome as well
'Money and muck go together' from English proverbs published 1698, the modern Yorkshire saying 'where there's muck there's brass'. Great to get to see all the horsey chores, not boring at all. Thanks CC.
My father was really supportive of my interest in horses - not just because he was from a horsey family, but to quite a large extent because of all the manure they produced, as he was a _very_ keen gardener!
horse manure is actually super expensive when you buy it for your gardening. my mom swears on that stuff. so nothing ridiculous about your horse poop regimen, it´s actually very clever ;)
Mine gets mixed with top soil and I am sure they sell it for big bucks!
They will most definitely @@TheCleverCowgirl

Kia Ora Tatou (Hello, everyone) from South Auckland New Zealand 🇳🇿 l love your videos and your family of horses! Soonest possible, l will be buying my first horse 🐎 to ride around the farm instead of a farm bike. My grandfather owned horses 🐎 on Niue Island before I was his first born eldest grandchild. I have a family member who works in an Oregon horse 🐎 and dog 🐕 sanctuary.
South Auckland hey, my sister lives in Mangere Bridge and my son in Pokeno (I'm across the ditch). The amont of building down that was is sucking up farmland - good luck with you horse 😁
It is so important to keep the ground as healthy as possible around horses. Mud fever and thrush can really cause problems.
I thankfully have very little problems with that!
Yes ! Watching a lot of other rescuers and seeing how bad thrush is !!!! It’s a bloody and smelly mess and I bet it hurts them also !!!
@@leanneadams2549 Thrush can also be high iron in the water. Ask me how I know about that, here in NE Texas.😂 OMGosh, I've had my Mustang mare for 16yrs, from a 2yo. I might have had a thrush problem 3 times....until last year around this time. It's been non-stop. I thought it was the one horse whose owner only comes when the farrier is there, but now understand it's the high iron in the well on this small private farm. I finally found a mineral blend with no iron, higher zinc, higher copper, no selenium (TX is high in that too), to offset the iron....Vermont Blend. They have been fabulous to deal with. Bought a 1lb sample...and within days my mare is loving it. My bigger bag is on the way. I'm seeing it starting to work on her hooves in less than a week. Can't wait until I can move back to Southern PA, where the well water is way better.
oof! right, of course .. thrush was worse than any swear word back there in the countryside 🌬brrrRrr🌬
For years I had my horse on full board and I am learning an enormous amount while watching you manage your farm. I had no idea the work involved. I applaud your work ethic and your love for all horses.
I love Nigel's forelock Unicorn ponytail. lol!!

Just the best single image from this delightful video.
I admire _his_ varying _his_ hairdos
Nigel looks like a unicorn with his ponytail. Haha!
Girl, is there nothing you don’t know or can’t do?!
I absolutely love that you don’t have to rely on hiring outside help.
I was smiling through the entire video. Thanks! 😊
Less outside help = More money for the horse!

As a certified ostomy nurse for 26 years… I was all about the poo too! Some of us just have a God given talent for seeing opportunity when others just walk on by. You don’t realize how important poo is until you have an issue with it. God Bless you CC and another great video!
I love that you actually sold horse poop on eBay! I’m pretty obsessed with my horse poop compost piles, and am used to the eye rolls from my not-so-horsey husband when I go on about how valuable the black gold is! Here in northern New Mexico I’m still dealing with snow and ice, but can’t wait to stir and organize the massive poop pile here, and clean/overseed the pastures for my boys! Thanks so much for your videos, I learn a lot from you.
His hair isn't ridiculous. It's adorable!! He looks like a little unicorn
He's the prettiest boy ever, and knows it too 😅
I actually find the development of the manure pile to be a very interesting topic.
It is a learned skill for sure!
My Dad, long gone, swore by old horse manure for fertilizer.
70 waiting but only 35 likes? You know you’re going to like the video
I love the videos ❤️
Horse manure, great for growing vegetables. And the Horses are contributing to their own upkeep!
You are unbelievably multi talented. Well done you .

Love this! When I visit my sister's horse (Romeo), I always take home a few bags of "Romeo's Product" for my gardens.
That was so cute to see Nigel stretching when he got up from his nap.
I really enjoy watching you do all the different chores on your ranch. It's good to be outside, working hard, noticing the changes in the seasons, checking your animals, etc. Thanks for sharing your poo pile day!
Love it ❤ Ñever thought turds could be so entertaining. 😊
As a gardener I envy that pile.
I agree, the Bobcat is lots of fun.
Really funny about “boundaries”
Good morning everyone
Good Morning
Well, I'm a little late, it's almost 1pm here, but greetings just the same !! 😊
Thank you for taking good care of your horses and having a brain to keep a good eye on them and get help when you need it! A joy to watch you!!
I agree .. Yes for CC!❤🐴
Retired organic farmer here. I see a pile of gold. Good job! Recently there have been some problems with Monsanto products used in grain production for horse and cattle grain. the poo turns into an unintentional herbicide. I have two relatively dead spots in my garden
In an earlier video, the clever cow girl said she had a couple of dead spots like that in one of her pastures. I wonder if it was caused by Monsanto products, too.
Very interesting!
That is Not Good!
Fields were looking really good as the sun was beginning to set. Turd/turds word count was 85, just kidding. The work was outside but I would call this housekeeping,
They are coming in fast!
Horse manure makes a great fertilizer. It was a bummer for local crofters when a horse farm was terminated, for they’ve lost affordable fertilizer source and had to either transport or buy industrially manufactured fertilizer, which at the time was simply beyond their means.
I remember many, many, years ago, my mom bought a tiny ocean front beach house. Anyway, we were enjoying the house and beach one day and a guy drove by and asked my mom if she wanted some horse manure on a bed of pelargoniums (like geraniums) in front of the house. She said "sure". He just dumped it on and of course, at first it stunk, but honest to God, I have never seen flowers bloom like those pelargoniums did after a few months. They were gorgeous! That is how I learned the power of horse manure on plants! lol! So yeah, sell that manure. Note: The guy who dumped it on my mom's flowers was giving it away to anyone who wanted it. lol!
Good morning from Oregon. Recovering a foot surgery and feel happy to get to attend a premiere.
Howdy Lady CC, respectful hugs to you Lady. As a term of endearment, watching you perform on the skid steer, dealing with the poop pile I feel the need to award you the “ super duper pooper scooper of the year award”. It is a cherished award around these parts. You are the first International recipient of this award. Many congratulations Lady CC ❤️
@1MrMoor, did you know your comment posted underneath someone else's comment? CC might not see it here. You poop lover you! Take care.

"My Big Day of Turds"....gotta be a movie or TV show or something! ☺
Your place looks good and being ahead of schedule is always a plus. The horses look happy and settled after all of that work. I know you were tired that day and ready for a good rest. I hope that you do at least one special thing a month for yourself, life is short.
You have a Beautiful day ❤❤❤❤❤ Be Blessed ❤❤❤❤❤
I was riveted the whole 20 mins!😆
My husband was convinced noone would watch a 20min video on turds. It'll be a nice "I told you so"! Crazy horse people know the value of some good truds!
Hello, I am so jealous. If I lived closer, I would buy as much of your aged manure as I could afford. I used to live next to a stable and when they would scrap out their lot, they would make a big pile in the desert across the street, so I would bring as much home as possible. I have since moved and have to make due with my chicken bedding. Thanks for a great video!
When we had horses we called them “pot rocks”. We used wood shavings top. Horse manure is the best fertilizer for outdoor gardening as far as I am concerned. I am hopelessly in love with Nigel.
All jobs contribute to a successful life! Even turds!! 😂 ❤
Woo Hoo! A twenty minute video on turd management! 😄😄Loved it!
So interesting to learn how you manage the all important, totally necessary nitty gritty tasks of keeping horses. You handle that excavator like a pro, and I enjoy the segments scooting around on your snazzy purple four wheeler. So Fun! (I think marketing your 'black gold' for mushroom farming was genius.)
Another great video, CC, and covering another really important horse ranching subject that would never have occurred to me.
Cheers(!) from Wisconsin and Best Wishes for some lovely warm days coming up!
I built a berm with my manure! Piled it, shaped it and seeded it. Looks great and let me expand my back yard as it acts like a retaining wall. It did take about 6 years for the entire project...
Well CC, I think you handled the 'shitsuation' beautifully! That little skid is the perfect machine for the job and I could tell that you thoroughly enjoy this chore. The 'turd' mulch is gorgeous!! I wish I lived closer to you because I would absolutely buy some for my acres of flower and vegetable gardens. I really enjoyed this video. Can't wait for the next one! 🐎💜🐎
I loved being part of the premier. Now I will go back and watch in full screen
You make me laugh every time you say Turds. 😂😂😂
Oh my gosh, poor Whiplash, such a well mannered boy refusing to step over a pole. 😂❤
Hi from Seattle! Great way to start the day!
Wow, you did a really nice job on your land. It looks so much better! You should definitely give yourself a pat on the back and do some self care. I am amazed by all you do for your horses all by yourself. You are definitely one of the strongest women that I get to watch. Thank you for all you do!
The nitrogen and carbon cycles hard at work. 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I love how you show all aspects of your life work. The good, the bad , the clean and the dirty.
A twenty minute video about horse turds lol. That comment was the icing on the turd I've laughed for ten minutes on that one
Hello from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina! We love your show! ❤
As an avid veggie gardener, I TREASURE really well rotted horse poop & bedding. Grows great veggies.
The lots look great. What an enormous job well done. I love checking off completed projects. Your horses are such individuals. I’m glad you found a good market for your compost. It is black gold.

Former Portland resident, here. I miss seeing Mt. Hood in the distance! Love that whole area.❤
Hi from the south coast of the UK...🇬🇧
"he is a really smart horse, but I guess he is really into boundaries" made me laugh!
Wow! I never thought of aged horse turds being like fine wine! Great for gardening. I grow (a lot) in raised beds. They are easy to take care of. Great video of a very productive day!
I thoroughly enjoyed that. It's very interesting to me how you take care of the manure compost. That is a lot of work. I can't believe you got it all done in one day and the drag as well. The horses all look great. Tiny is such a great cat.
Use to compost just like you do. Made good money at it. 'Bob' my 743 Bobcat skid steer is my most important piece of equipment on my little farm. The heat in the compost pile can really get up there. I used to wrap eggs in their cartoon wrap in double plastic and shove them deep into the heat of the pile. Retrieve them a few days later for the best no effort hard cooked eggs ever! Really enjoy your videos.
I've seen many manure piles catch fire if you are not carefully! Luckily it isn't too windy here , so it is less of a problem
Stewy looks so smart, and understanding when you go and say hi.
I love your channel, and this video reminds me of when I once upon a time lived in a town I'll call Doham. It was a large farming community but had a charming small town feel, and home to one of one of the largest Fairs in the state.
It began to grow with many, what we called Yuppies (Young Up and coming Professionals) moving in and building very large houses on what was once fertile farmland beginning sometime in the early 1700's.
In a favorite area of mine there was an expansive farm that raised many, many horses. I used to drive by and sometimes sit, getting my horse therapy. The smell, feel, and mere sight of watching the beautiful creatures did wonders for my spirit.
After many parcels of land nearby were sold and developed with homes, the "neighborhood' became inundated with many joggers, bicyclists, and other outdoor enthusiasts.
After some time there was an article in the local newspaper that said how many people in this "new" area were starting a petition to monitor the farm and the amount of horses they could maintain. All of this started over what they called, "the obscene odors of horse manure." I am not being fictitious here.
Lawyers who had recently moved in and invested their time and money became involved and successfully got enough people on a petition to force some ridiculously stringent orders and rules to this farm that had been operating for many generations. Some of the rules were sadly disturbing such as where and how to store the manure, and even imposed a limit on the amount of horses they could have.
It obviously split the town between the older residents and the new, and was disenchanting to watch. My time there ended because of prior commitments. I was happy to leave because many of the newer people were getting into politics and surprisingly had many supporters. They were somewhat victorious too in changing what was once a charming and idealic place.
I still go through the town from time to time, but it lost so much purity to me. The horse farm is still there, and although it has been encroached upon, it is still breeding and taking care of horses. I left a lot of details out, some by choice, others I can't remember. Thanks for reminding me of this C.C. Keep on making that beautiful, "Stinkin', smelly gold," as it is so healthy to our nostrils, and beneficial to many, many farmers, agriculturists, and mycologists, as well as the wild life.
We are running into this when looking for a property! 10-20acres parcels but only 2 horses allowed! Blasphemy!
@@TheCleverCowgirl I can't say I agree with it in a small state like Rhode Island or Connecticut, but I could begin to understand, but that's it-- especially if it is in a rural area with much acreage surrounding it. In a states such as California, Texas, Montana, etc. it is Blasphemy, and more.
Twenty acres is more than sufficient for at least ten horses, and I am no means an expert but my honest estimation would be an acre per horse, and please correct me if I am wrong, or out of my league.
Thanks again for your interesting content and the Horse Therapy that I get.
Look at all that Black Gold!! Good stuff right there. ❤
Looking good, tyre management is like spring cleaning for the outside😊 And the first T.shirt day when you're out is always special🎉

Here's another perfectly logical example for why this channel has its name,,,
After watching Ms.Clever's deep loving commitment 4 these horses I have nick named her the common sense kid - its a term of endearment since unfortunately common sense seems 2 have diminished over the years & isn't as common as it should be - neither is a good work ethic (this gal has a ton of) especially with America's young people who are being seduced by technology : (
(This woman is 1 of the best teachers on u-tube - luv seeing how she cares 4 her horses)
