It's easy to take Arkham Asylum for granted because several games have tried to copy its formula, but it really is an amazing game. There's something about Arkham's combat system that has the right amount of depth without being too complicated, even when you're fully maxed out with gadgets and maneuvers. It's always good to go back and appreciate games that paved the way. Modern games are flashy and awesome, but retrospectively playing older titles builds an appreciation that is hard to match.
The post credit scene actually has 3 variations. It can be Croc’s hand, Scarecrow’s hand, or Bane’s hand. My theory is that the Scarecrow one is the canon one since we know he survives and later becomes the main villain of Knight
This one has a feel to it that makes it my favourite in the series. I can't exactly explain what that feel is, it is just there. It feels like a comic book which I love so much

Batman 4 life! Also this may be just me, but aside from tweaks and added mechanics, Arkham Asylum is the best of the series. Yes, they other games allowed you to be Batman in Gotham City but the asylum is just more interesting and memorable. Especially after so may games going open world in the last decade. And the riddles in in Arkham Asylum were just fun easter eggs, the number of question mark trophies was reasonable and they were just a joy to find instead of being busy work to pad out game time.

I'm currently working my way through the Arkham Knight AR challenges and the New Game + mode, going for the "Gold" suit. I LOVE Arkham Knight and I'll never understand the hate it gets.. narratively it wasn't the best and sure the Batmobile Tank missions were a bit excessive, but everything else is NAILED down. Hell, even driving around in the Batmobile feels awesome (when it isn't a damn tank)

When I used to play it, I didn’t really get into the nuance of the combat. However, last fall (probs due to the Batman), I decided to play thru all of them. Once I got into asylum, I decided to get into learning the combat the real way. And it just hooked me in even more. The feeling when you get the flow and timing down, bouncing between enemies in a way that you know you’re in control instead of the game, just really makes it special. And it made the combat challenges even more fun trying to do it the right way. I feel like, while I think the others are just as fun, all the extra enemies and different things you’re having to juggle takes away from that direct combat at times. Again, I love the entire series, so I’m not trying to take away from it. (But I do wish they kept the move where you pick an enemy up and toss him over your head. I used that a lot in combat challenges)
You know what's funny? The title of both Asylum and City being Return to Arkham Arkham Asylum and Return to Arkham Arkham City on the PS4 and the Xbox One versions. I know it's just because of the Return to Arkham Collection that was released in 2016, but I still find it funny. Damn, my humor is so dry

Origins was maybe a bit large for its own good, but the best game for christmas time. I only replayed Knight once. Now that game had a bit of the open world bloat for me.
Damn I thought I was the only moron who kept on detective mode 90% of the game 😂😂 also the ultra batclaw was ridiculous, I'm not surprised that they dropped it in later games.
* The combat is the least refined (surprise, surprise). Even just a 2-year jump to City is so much more refined. * Not being able to grab Riddler trophies with the Batclaw is annoying. * The Remote Controlled Batarang not having any slowdown/U-Turn and having a cooldown makes it annoying to use.
In all honesty I adore this game. It’s the best game in the series in terms of its pace atmosphere and replay ability. It also has the best of the riddler challenges in my opinion. Some of the later games got way too bloated. I’ve definitely played it the most out of the series. It’s such a special game that is incredible and is a must play. Thanks for this amazing retrospective.

arkam asylum was the best, small enough to 100% without wearing out its welcome unlike city which had the skyrim problem of sidequest overload to the point my brain just stops giving a fuck about doing it.
I did not enjoy arkham asylum,reason why is because the first batman game i played was arkham knight which i really enjoyed except for all the batmobile missions,but the one thing that pissed me off in arkham asylum was the terrible ass map ,and i had a hard time trying to find out what i was supposed to do lol
MayorHairBear only in the opening cutscene of the original. To answer my own question I suppose it was a cheap copout to showcase the remastereds graphical fidelity instead o you know making it 60fps or something 😞

When I bought the return to Arkham version of Asylum and city the game improved tenfold.

Arkham Knight was my favourite one to play, it is so fast yet smooth and it has its downfalls for sure but it was still a really good time :)
