I don't know how I got here, but I am glad I did. Very interesting to see such experienced craftmanship.

I stopped using incense after I was diagnosed with Lupus because I'm highly sensitive to toxic chemicals that trigger flare ups. I was at a friend's house when she burned a SHOYEIDO Vanilla incense and I did fine so I ordered some! It's extremely difficult to find products that won't poison us so thank you, Shoyeido!

They make a Low Smoke line that is perfect for order who are sensitive to smoke.

Perhaps I should definitely invest more in Japanese style incense rather than Indian as well. I still live with my parents & my mother also has lupus. 😳

This is exactly correct. Many people who have a physical reaction to incense are having a totally normal reaction to the toxic/poison chemicals found in manufactured cheap incense. This is a major reason I opened up my shop "The World Makes Scents" which sells incense with ONLY natural/plant-based materials.

I am so sorry about that. Japanese incense is delightful, I just received my 13inch Sitting Zen sticks that burn for around 2 hours, got 33 instead of 30 that was advertised. BUT I also REALLY enjoy Indian incense, just need a door open for those. Such a shame you can't enjoy Indian incense anymore since some of the Indian incense companies make some extraordinary incense. My heart goes out to you, sending love and positive frequency/vibes. I was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis (happens in every 1 in 10,000 people roughly) and also have epilepsy (that is thankfully controlled) and a mysterious blood disorder that we are still trying to figure out.

@@RebeccaJ720 Indian incense produces a lot of smoke, therefore it's best to burn it outside the home. Or you can place the burner in the balcony or backyard, away from closed area. They are nice-smelling but can produce a lot of sticky deposit in the surface (and air con), that's why the correct placement is important. I also use low-smoke Japanese incense of high quality for indoor puja.

Just found this video. Shoyeido is the only incense I use, and I use it 2 or 3 times daily. I am amazed at the precise work that produces this wonderful product.

I'm pretty sure that we're looking at the Premium range here, which are the only truly hand-made sticks in Shoyeido's line-up. Looking at the colour (obviously we can't have the give-away smell, and I don't understand Japanese either) I suspect that most of the footage is of Misho (Gentle Smile) being made.

Love Incense and Japanese incense is so delicate and personal, it is a real time of enjoyment for me when the scents fill the air and fuse together. Shoyeido makes great Incense if not the best Japanese incense, burn it very often my favorites are the Golden Pavilion and the Diamond can't get enough of those.

I have been using Shoyeido incense for years. I'm sensitive to fragrance and I find the coated stick incense obnoxious. Shoyeido smells amazing and it never bothers me. Kyoto Autumn leaves is my absolute favorite and luckily is one of the most affordable one they carry. Everyone loves the smell when they come to my house. It is light and not offensive or overpowering. Just smells like a warm and cozy fire on a bright cool autumn day.

Amazing! This kind of things and work have disappeared in Europe. In Uk especially. People want volume and quantity and not the quality. As a result, the whole ground is covered and invaded by crap and polluted in anything, food, and the other consumer stuff and unhealthy electronic has taken up everyone's life in hostages. There's no evergreen country in Europe that can go back to this kind of work as they don't appreciate or have any more patience to be in this level.
