Plus unlike Elden Ring it has an actual story and characters. I love Elden Ring but I can also say with confidence that there's plenty I greatly dislike, like how easy it is to get genuinely lost, not knowing what the hell is going on, how to make a good build etc. Meanwhile, ask me to make a list of critiques for Bg3 and I'd be scratching my head for a solid half hour. Even now all I can think of is that the stats are a bit complicated to understand for non DND players.

The game was in early access (something not afforded literally anything not indie) for like 2 years before officially coming out, essentially having millions of players beta testing throughout development. Game took like 6 years. BG3 is D&D which a lot of the wider gaming community isn't really a fan of either. I personally couldn't get into it. Also, it truly doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why BG3's situation is entirely impossible and unrealistic for the wider industry. Please don't be willfully ignorant.

Man I tried to play it in November and couldn't do it, it was my first ever turn-based game and I had no idea what I was doing, and didn't understand the hype. Came back in March to give it a proper chance and it's my favourite game of all time now. This game deserved all the awards it got.

I tried playing Baldur's Gate 3 after watching them winning the award. All I can say is I love it very very much. There's so much depths and infinite possibilities. Plus the romance, I thought I was going with Shadowheart but ended up with Lae'zel. I love it very much.

They're not that wrong. By first looking at it,it looks a little bit boring because of the turn based combat. But after you play it it's pretty engaging
I played it and dropped it after less than 10 hours. I'm really not a fan of D&D, don't believe the game should've been $69.99 at all, and still after almost a year and a half have not tried it again. It could've done better with me if it was a more focused and condensed experience. CRPGs are not my thing, so I can't see why it did so well, either. If anything the community behind it also put me off it by being really loud ignorantly acting like its the only "feature complete" game. Still think Larian had their heads up their ass for that one. A game can be good without putting down other games for no reason.

I first played BG3 after I started playing my first game of Dungeons and Dragons back in September this year. I was recommended it by my DM as he said it would give me a visual idea of what our game looks like. 3 months later, im still playing it every day and I'm spending so much time looking at Dungeons and Dragons lore. BG3 absolutely deserved GOTY and anyone who shat on it for winning actually needs to play it and they'll know why it won.

I haven't played BG3 yet, but I have played Spider Man 2, SM2 definitely didn't even deserve to compete, I had much more fun with Lies Of P and Hi-Fi Rush to be honest, seeing as everyone I know love BG3, I certainly have no doubt that it is one of the best games ever made

I didn’t play baldurs however I saw it as replay-ability. Baldurs had multiple options while spider man not so much. Now that I’ve played it. Damn right it won lol

Having played both, Spider-Man is a good game but it doesn’t even hold a candle to BG3 lol. BG3 is one of the most fun and impressive games I’ve ever played. Spider-Man is a solid action game. The only people who thought BG3 wouldn’t win are people who only play AAA games.

Really? Spider-man 2 over Baldur’s Gate 3? That’s a joke. And look I’m not saying Spiderman 2 was bad or anything I thought it was fun, but doesn’t even come close to how amazing BG3 was. One of the first games to give me that similar feeling I got when I was playing Skyrim for the very first time. It was just so immersive and I was hooked for weeks.

I mean, is very Dark Souls yet is not that good as DS1 or Bloodborne, and just like DS2 Wukong have more mechanics and stuff that situations where you would use those mechanics or items, It also has a notable problem with the communication during the developing, examples are the hundreds of invisible walls in areas that look you can go there (the map was made separated from the game design direction) and a lot of stuff like that...
Is a 9/10 for people that only plays mainstream games and a solid 7 for people that plays that genre.

I dislike bg, but when i found out how many twists, possibilities and bunch of script scenes bg3 has, when i saw that game lit3rally react on every your movement and its trull6 impact your story...I was shocked. Its a fenomen game, which deserve to be best game of the year. I still dont like such games but i fully understand why...Saying that SM2 gona be GoTY is ridiculously bad knowledge in gaming and bad taste😊
