Dantes DMC2 fit is nothing short of Stylish Drip it has a ton of Punisher Plus Spawn aesthetic to it when it comes to the environments they kinda remind of Spawn The Animated Series
I totally agree with you, even tho the game is bad but most of people acknowledge or even admit that that DMC2 has the design for Dante, however i don't see many people is talking about the soundtrack, and whenever i see a comment that giving it appreciation, it's make me happy, also my favourite is definetly Trish 2nd battle theme along with Dante as well, Orangguerra, Trismagia, & the one for Goatlings and Phantom
I always find it funny because in the beginning, the game is seems trying to portray him as a level headed character, but then it's turn 180 after he got all the arcanas... i guess it's make him lose his sanity in the process and turn him into a over the top theater actor somehow XD

Dante's attitude in DMC2 was more silent and chill because of what the OG director wanted and so resulting inconsistent than what we saw in DMC1, then Itsuno and his team tried to justify Dante's personality using the events of the first game via retcon. Same can be said for the anime which takes place between DMC1 and 2.
i remember playing dmc2 while in a discord call and i was trying my best to not descend into gun madness by trying to do stylish sword combos but the controls were so jank that midway i just went back to the natural dmc2 gameplay style of just Gun
Getting an S rank to show up in DMC2 is quite simple slash for a little bit dodge out of the way using a handless cartwheel or backdive shoot for a while dodge back towards him slash rinse and repeat keep in mind lock on in 2 is kinda janky but I found the control input to be fine the lock on kinda threw me off
It seems like that Dante in this game was at his prime lore wise, considering he had majin form and flexing his power to Argosax, damn... the plot potential of this game definetly worth to explore yet it became totally wasted, and i heard that Itsuno is actually interested to remaking this game, and if that someday could become true, i really hope they can bring Beryl from the light novel into the game lore

DMC2 is mediocre at best, but the one thing I wish to see brought back is Lucia! She is a hugely underrated character in the series and deserves a comeback!
DMC2 gets too much shade- not saying its a good game but I personally had fun and from an artists standpoint its good (just not a gameplay standpoint really) DMC2 I had fun with I enjoyed myself ever so slightly. The reboot is hailed as better but I couldnt finish that BS its just so bad!
I didn't play the reboot since 2013 I only played the demo back then and decided to pass up on it but DMC2 can be fun at times without we wouldn't have gotten any of the styles or anything we enjoyed from the series

I agree with the music kicking ass Dantes fit being the the most stylish one we had and some boss fights being pretty damn good hey the chareter animations were pretty damn solid to look at but rebellion felt a little light weight at times for me but the bad points are pretty spot on

I know Arius sucked as a character but I wish his boss fights were better he would just sit down and let you fight his minions and when you fight him he just run away it’s sad that I kinda enjoyed the final boss fight than whatever he was doing.
He's boss fights we're kinda lame they were going for the evil CEO type but it kinda fell flat on its face sitting down and shooting you but Despair embodied as a boss fight made the worst game in the series end off with a bang

Don't forget that sweet early 2000's wallrunning mechanics inspired by The Matrix. Was actually pretty sad when I saw how gutted wallrunning became in DMC3 Also I really liked that all of your basic combos changed when you were in DT form so you could just start the move's animation and then turn off DT afterwards to save a bunch of meter
Oh, DMC2, you silly game you. I find it funny how this was my introduction to the series, and somehow, I didn't immediately run away from the series. In terms of things DMC2 did right, the only things that really come to mind are Dante's design and giving us Bloody Palace. The soundtrack had some bangers as well. The only other marginally good thing I can think of is the addition of Rain Storm.
Guess a friend convinced you to play Devil May Cry 3 Itsunos redemption arc Dantes fit in 2 was the best one in the series bloody palace was a welcomed edition to the series the was OST was had some kick ass battle themes plus rainstorm and melee attacks in mid air
Other than Dante being depressed I think the point of him having no character development in this game is that he is not the protagonist. Just like in DMC4 he is a sidekick character who has no real development and is there to help the character the game is focusing on, in this case Lucia: she has a lot of character development and crosses various fases with her mood and with how the envents unfolding hit on her.
One good thing : the idea of having 2 different campaigns for the playables characters. We all love the special edition of the Franchise for the added character but come on, with the execption of dmc 5 final boss, all of them are just the main one copied and pasted. One bad thing : two campaign too similar and unbalanced. While the games have two character campaign, most of them have the sames levels and boss, nothing special happen in the two and for some reason lucia campaign is shorter.
Im so glad level select was added in dmc2 since in dmc1 if you missed something on mission 3 and your on m12 you have to beat the game or reset your save file
Always nice to have someone remind us that "Worst of the Best" is still "one of the best." I'll take DMC2 over the latest Assassin's Creed any day, and that's not a genre thing -- I prefer open-world sandboxes to character-action games, but it's a no-contest.
Bolverk was Argosax’ version of Sparda, and Argosax itself was a demonic god stronger than Mundus before he ate the fruit, and Dante shrugs them off like they’re nothing
The best part about DMC2 is the trish playthrough. Also the infested chopper fight is one of the more unique fights in this game. You need to wait until he launches his rockets at you and you need to shoot them to fill your dt really fast. Then you fly up to its eye and shoot it.
Ambitious creator was like it's a miracle we ended with something playeble to that degree What this game is doing bad is not being tought well enought in term of story because as much ascombat dosen't works...it sure can be fun when you figure linking attacks i heared once that dmc 1 have strongest pistols in series...i wonder what that actually means

Scenes from devil may cry 3 and 5 and on the subject of devil may cry 5 I got a PS4 in a copy of DMC5 just the other day. Also quick question when I do my devil. I cry retrospective. Should I review it in kinotical order or release order?
Yo that sounds like assignment in media sounds like fun I was thinking of recreating a few action scenes myself I'll be sure to check out your videos when ever you drop it but with a DMC Retrospective I recommend doing it in release order because it's a video game series at the end of the so gameplay innovations are a huge aspect of looking at the series evolution

That outfit was Punisher meets Spawn type of aesthetic plus Dantes hairstyle with the movement made it look really damn cool

Arius' voice acting in this game made me cry from laughter, it would have almost been a redeeming quality

Actually mate The timeline is altered after DMC 5 so DMC 4 dante was peak before DMC 5.

I also like that dmc2 allows you to upgrade the damage of your swords, I wish other dmc games would do that as well.
