Forcing yourself to move forward and putting the past where it belongs, which is behind you is sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself. Sometimes you have got to go “cold turkey” with things. Many people hold on to the past for way too long. You can’t move forward looking behind you. If you need to throw it away do it! Let the past remain where it belongs! Putting those things behind you and pressing forward toward the high calling, Paul had it right.

I am slowly getting rid of things but it can be overwhelming and I get emotional over some things. I kept alot of things from when my Grandmother passed 10 years ago. I feel sooooo stressed when my house is cluttered. If things get too messy I know I'm not in a good mode. Maybe we need to support each other more with this because as a parent with young kids I'd love someone to say girl I've got you this weekend and I'd do the same for someone else. We tend to hide this kinda stuff. The woman doing full time work will sometimes struggle with round the clock housework. In fact I'm sure I'm better at sorting others 😂 not so enticing when it's your own junk. Weird but true.

In the last 5 years, I've gone from a 4-bedroom house, to a 2-bedroom apartment and now to a one-bedroom apartment in the DMV. I'm forced to constantly get rid of stuff, but it's actually refreshing! It's just me, so I've realized that I don't need as much! I love luxury loving; however, I can do it minimally. It's been great giving away stuff and organizing what I have!

Old text books 📚and encyclopedias should be removed from our homes too. Information is constantly being updated online. And we can still visit our local library. But another thing that we should keep are photos, especially of family, vacations and special events. But we can still scale down & preserve them more efficiently by scanning and saving most of them on a flash drive, disc and in our computer. Thank you Lynn for sharing this God given message. I strive to be the change for my 17 year old niece who is coming into her adulthood and my children as well. This video is everything. I started decluttering in 2020 and man I feel so much better about myself and my house. It gets easier over time to let things go. Having less to clean and keep up with has made me more productive in general.
I refuse to get rid of the items my parents purchased there items are worth more than the stuff you buy today. I've taken the time to research China, depression glass, colored glass, signed China age of items bring value along with the signature, my mom collected dolls which are all of value items from the20s,30s,40s & 50s albums Comic Books, books, art, so much value. There appraiser's that will come in and help you. Clothes and stuff I can't wear no problem I've learn my style is also changing as I age and the lifestyle I live. I suggest not to throw money away something's during those years could bring you money 💲💰 🤑. All is good enjoyed the video.

I'm a little overwhelmed, I just moved into a new place after losing my daughter's father and I'm always looking for free things we need online however some kind people giving items away want you to pick up and I can't carry some of the bigger things alone or fit things like a bed for me and my girls in my little car so some of those things we still need but everything I could get in my car by myself I did. I have never hustled so hard to try make something, on my own. I'm out of work from kidney issues and other medical issues... Then because this is an older house something always needs fixed. I've made a decision to get RID...& give to charities etc, I feel the time is RIGHT. Another man's TRASH is another man's TREASURE. I'm not going to have any attachments on those items anymore. This is great!! I have downsized considerable after my divorce. And there are more things that I am willing to get rid of. I do have a few questions for anyone who is willing to share. Now am I getting rid of our military awards and plaques??? That's something I 'm unsure of and portaits/ photo boxes. I have beautiful dishware that I have because I used to entertain. I have really nice things. Or I could sell the dishes, clothes or better yet give them away to the shelter for women who are starting over. I've already given a whole lot to the goodwill. I have a garage full i moved from my old house last January 18 . My family cursed me out for bringing it to the new house a year ago. Still in the garage most of it was in the garage for 8 years at the old house then bought it and added to it at the new place. We have been in this home a year and i promised i would go thru it and bought it in the house bit by bit. Now my loft room is full of non since. And was home for 3 months during covid doing nothing. Having a goodwill truck to come next week to haul it off and then what is left the trash truck will get the rest. Been donating older clothes to the homeless shelter.
I have a friend that the inspectors that her place was well clean and she told me that her neighbor has a more beautiful place than hers, and I explained to her place was not cluttered with all sorts of decors and they could see her walls, countertops, not bumping into excessive amounts of items that is not really needed in areas of their homes.
This is a good reminder! I started a week ago going through and discarding documents but will not move into the other rooms...one at a time to truly to a Spring Cleaning (Decluttering)...anticipating the blessings to come my way!

Soooo.... I saw this when you posted it & I listened to the first few seconds when you said you were going to step on some toes because you stepped on your own. I was like welp “I ain’t ready to listen to this yet.” Just being honest. 😳 Welp I FINALLY got the courage to listen to what you had to say. All I can say is.... ALL 10 toes were stepped on BUT they needed to be! I donated two garbage bags full of clothes two months ago & my closet is still packed. The bright side is I have everything in on centralized location & containers and I need to commit to one container or more a week. Whew!I just declutter 9 Big Garbage Bags of clothes, linens, shoes, and garden tools to NAMI. I am truly Blessed.

Me too!! I cleaned and reorganized the laundry, linen closet and statred on my bedroom and took a break and the video came up. I still have my bathroom and my office and by the front door is a mess. I would like a whole house where i dont have to organize anything for a good 6 months lol

I strive to be the change for my 17 year old niece who is coming into her adulthood and my children as well. I don’t have all the answers myself but as long as I challenge them to think outside the box and challenge what society see’s fit for them I have faith they will prosper in this life. OMG! I started decluttering my basement last March! It could only be done by me and I actually threw out more than 35 bags of memories! I totally agree with you on this video! Thank you for your honesty with love! Be safe...
This video is everything. I started decluttering in 2020 and man I feel so much better about myself and my house. It gets easier over time to let things go. Having less to clean and keep up with has made me more productive in general.
I refuse to get rid of the items my parents purchased there items are worth more than the stuff you buy today. I've taken the time to research China, depression glass, colored glass, signed China age of items bring value along with the signature, my mom collected dolls which are all of value items from the20s,30s,40s & 50s albums Comic Books, books, art, so much value. There appraiser's that will come in and help you. Clothes and stuff I can't wear no problem I've learn my style is also changing as I age and the lifestyle I live. I suggest not to throw money away something's during those years could bring you money 💲💰 🤑. All is good enjoyed the video.

I'm a little overwhelmed, I just moved into a new place after losing my daughter's father and I'm always looking for free things we need online however some kind people giving items away want you to pick up and I can't carry some of the bigger things alone or fit things like a bed for me and my girls in my little car so some of those things we still need but everything I could get in my car by myself I did. I have never hustled so hard to try make something, on my own.
I'm out of work from kidney issues and other medical issues... Then because this is an older house something always needs fixed. Please keep me and my family in your prayers I just need God to lift me up and for him to send good people into my life. Thank you so much. God bless you and keep you. ❤️
Lynn you gave me so much food for thought!!! I'm a passionate person for lots of comfort items, but like all things accumulating it can get out of hand. I look around & it could border HOARDING. I've made a decision to get RID...& give to charities etc, I feel the time is RIGHT. Another man's TRASH is another man's TREASURE. I'm not going to have any attachments on those items anymore. I believe in GOD's blessings & would NOT like mine to be BLOCKED, bse of no room for it to pass through my HOUSEHOLD. Thank you for the advice to declutter my EXTRA stuff.

I started Got a long way to go But it already feels Better I Started On Mother's Day A Mother's job is Never Done✅🙏🥰🥺👍 My kids got so much stuff it overwhelmes me 3 girls wheeeww.. and the schools always sending too much paper 🏠 more Clutter now I take a picture and chunk it that's my way of getting rid of most of it!!! This is great!! I have downsized considerable after my divorce. And there are more things that I am willing to get rid of. I do have a few questions for anyone who is willing to share.
Now am I getting rid of our military awards and plaques??? That's something I 'm unsure of and portaits/ photo boxes. I have beautiful dishware that I have because I used to entertain. I have really nice things. Or I could sell the dishes, clothes or better yet give them away to the shelter for women who are starting over. I've already given a whole lot to the goodwill.

I have a garage full i moved from my old house last January 18 . My family cursed me out for bringing it to the new house a year ago. Still in the garage most of it was in the garage for 8 years at the old house then bought it and added to it at the new place. We have been in this home a year and i promised i would go thru it and bought it in the house bit by bit. Now my loft room is full of non since. And was home for 3 months during covid doing nothing. Having a goodwill truck to come next week to haul it off and then what is left the trash truck will get the rest. Been donating older clothes to the homeless shelter.

I have a friend that the inspectors that her place was well clean and she told me that her neighbor has a more beautiful place than hers, and I explained to her place was not cluttered with all sorts of decors and they could see her walls, countertops, not bumping into excessive amounts of items that is not really needed in areas of their homes.
This is a good reminder! I started a week ago going through and discarding documents but will not move into the other rooms...one at a time to truly to a Spring Cleaning (Decluttering)...anticipating the blessings to come my way!

Soooo.... I saw this when you posted it & I listened to the first few seconds when you said you were going to step on some toes because you stepped on your own. I was like welp “I ain’t ready to listen to this yet.” Just being honest. 😳 Welp I FINALLY got the courage to listen to what you had to say. All I can say is.... ALL 10 toes were stepped on BUT they needed to be! I donated two garbage bags full of clothes two months ago & my closet is still packed. The bright side is I have everything in on centralized location & containers and I need to commit to one container or more a week. I’ve been trying to tackle everything at once and I realize that is way too overwhelming. Thank you for posting this video. God Bless You! 😇

Minds have to be decluttered too, old ways of thinking, racism, hatred, jealousy, grievances all have to be decluttered from our minds, then it would be easier to get rid of the material stuff, we’ve got to do a digital declutter because we all know Social Media is the devil’s playground if we’re not mindful of our intentions when we get on there, what information we need to take in, it has to be positive, it’s a journey but we can get there, it’s good for our spiritual growth.....💐
I declutter each season. We are all individuals we can decide what we want to get rid of.

WOW!!! I NEEDED TO HEAR THAT!!! A few days ago I started watching episodes of Hoarders & REALIZED that I am on that road. I am no where near as bad, but I see the behaviors they exhibit beginning to manifest in my own life. I justify holding onto things like toilet paper rolls for arts & crafts projects & it worries me that it is a precursor to the full blown disorder. I will be decluttering this week! OohOohh you have read me to my soul talking about cards, too small clothes, things kids drew. Things I forgot I had, everything you mentioned.
