- Our 2nd day in KRABI, THAILAND! We knew that we were coming to Thailand at the start of rainy season or certainly not in the best weather, however for the last 2 weeks we have been so lucky with good weather and hardly any rainy.... well today was the day LOL!!! The weather did have a slight change for the worse but we were lucky enough to visit 2 of the islands before it was a complete rain storm, it was touch and go about getting back not completely drenched but we made it all thanks to THALASSA Tours :) Welcome to the 4 Island Tour!

Ao Nang is beautiful because you got three things in your field of view from your hotel balcony: 1: The big cliff out cropping on one side, 2: The jungle on the other side: 3: The sea and an island or two out the other direction. some pretty good little bars for night life also. And of course many types of boat tours as these folks showed. A short trip around the point to Railay beach is recommended also. Easy long tail boat ride. There are jungle trails one can hike down also if you like. There is an entertainment complex which is OK for a little while. Many great little restaurants up and down the main street. Large group of seafood restaurants along the beach area.
That was so satisfying to watch. Awesome place with reasonable prices so you can get the most from your vacation money. Btw Molly, you've given yourself quite the gorgeous tan during your stay there. Looks golden! 😃👍

ao nang is so pretty. took the ferry from Phuket pier to ao Nang. What a beautiful ride as you motor past small little islands and out croppings

I stayed in Ao Nang in Feb 2018 and Feb 2020 - and did this tour on both occasions (the one in Feb 2020 was a 4-island sunset tour having an evening meal on Phra Nang Beach at Railey during the sunset). Other island hopping tours from Ao Nang that you must do is Hong Island Tour; also Phi Phi Island Tour from Krabi is quicker than from Phuket since the Phi Phi Islands are in the Krabi Province

I have flown into Krabi airport which was nice. Only stayed one night in town and then went down to Ao Nang. Wonderful coastal scenery that part of thailand

I have seen storms come up quickly. Once I took the ferry from Pattaya out to the local island Ko Larn. I actually got sea sick which surprised me having done time at sea while in the military. Guess I lost my sea legs
After all, I don't know which of day trips I can skip, all of them looks amazing if I don't care about Maya bay crowds. Which one would be your favorites people?

Dear, don’t forget to visit khao Hong,,,,so pretty, I think it is second from Maya.
Matt, staying in Krabi town is better and way cheaper than staying in ao nang, my personal opinion. In Krabi town u can get real and delicious local food at cheaper prices. It has weekends night market too which is interesting. And it's easy to access ao nang and railay from here

Is there a Thalassa Tours office in Ao nang near the beach? I need to hire a private long tail to the 4 islands like you did! Booking ahead of time will cost us at least 7,500 baht, and that’s on the low end!

I’m curious too. I checked Thalassa Tours website and of course there’s nothing about getting your own long tail boat for 3,000-6,000 baht.
Krabi or Phuket Island ? We only have time for one island .. we are foodies and not touristy couple retired no kids ..
Hmmmm difficult to say, Krabi is more relaxed 😌
