Thank you for the very informative video! Curious, does Salmon Arm have heavy hailstorms that could damage cars or property? I'm also from Vancouver, BC!

Hi! Not really, I would say we get a few hail “storms” a year at most but nothing major, usually very small hail if it happens. With that being said, weather is changing so much and getting crazier everywhere every year it seems.

I'm just about moving to Salmon Arm next year, but I'm a little concerned about how difficult it it to find apartments or houses for rent as well as job offers. Would you give me a clue on this matters. I would really appreciate it

      Hi!
There are definitely job opportunities here and places to rent, however we are a small community so there tend to be less opportunities than larger cities. Rentals can be difficult so I would recommend looking as soon as possible, you can even create a post in Facebook on the group below sharing information about yourself and what you are looking for for rent. This Facebook group tends to be the number one place to look - facebook.com/groups/454304967959190/
If you want to see what kind of jobs are currently posted this site is great as well - shuswap.workforcebc.ca/job-board/
Hope this all helps and you have an easy transition here!

Thank you very much for this informative video! Are the people of Salmon Arm accepting of American expats? We love Canada and want to move to a more civilized country. Can it work for us?

That’s what that smell is… poor planning for sure on whoever decided on that location for the plant.
Pretty balanced view. I find it funny as people who grew up in this area tend to look down “city folk” but I think we need a lot more city folk to improve this town and bring fresh ideas so it’s not so “mundane” as you say. It’s definitely a changing area. A lot of city type moved here in the past couple years, and although it was great at first, one really begins to miss the vibrancy and stimulation from bigger cities. I think we just need an inflow of people willing to sacrifice losing what the big city has and bring some of that here.

Couldn't agree more! Salmon Arm has definitely changed a lot in the last 10 years, but at a slow rate. We love seeing more people relocate here and open up awesome new businesses.

Hi there! Unfortunately we are not licensed to provide rental services. I would recommend checking out Facebook Rental groups or Kijiji. Hope this helps!
