Coopers Craft, amazing, found for 28 in Indiana Bonded solid.. 36 in Illinois Bowman small batch is nice Russell's SB..awesome Haven't done the 7.... Haven't heard this...what is in the MW.... Smoke Wagon, smooth as ice Penelope Toasted damn nice...going Architect next....69 in Illinois
Great list, David. I am on my third bottle of Smoke Wagon Uncut Unfiltered and I will keep it on my bar for as long as I can. I look forward to your next vid. All the best, salud!
I think you would be wrong to overlook Westward American Single Malt. As they say, brewed like a beer, distilled like a scotch, and aged like a bourbon. Fantastic pour at 90 proof and 65$. Cant wait to open my 125 proof cask strength. Cheers🥃
Thanks for reminding us that there's a lot of really good regional distilleries well worth drinking. In the PNW, for example, we have some fine whiskies, as you note.
Next time I recommend you put a list on description so beginners like me can easily find those on Amazon or at least from an alcohol store like where I'm living in Vietnam. Thank you so much
The Taconic cask strength finished in Maple is amazing, one of my favorite ones I've tried this year. CC 100 is a staple on my bar, trails end 8 was a good mention as well.
Like all the ones on the list. If you haven't tried Widow Jane it is a spectacular bourbon to try its a little pricey at about 75 to 80 a bottle but we'll worth it or there is Sazerac rye that is also good for around 30 bucks and sorry if I spelled that wrong.
I am building a bourbon collection and your channel has been very helpful. Do you open a new bottle when you buy it and how long will bourbon remain good after opening. Thanks!
I usually show the bottle in a store haul first then at some point open it when I film with it. Once open it is good for years, but the amount of air in it plays into the effects it has on flavor. The more air the more chance it will turn to negative flavorss
Consider using a smaller bottle to decant your whiskies. The 12 oz. glass ice tea bottles with twist on caps work well. Run it through the dishwasher, dry and stick a label on it so you know what’s in it.
Red Fork Distillery in Tulsa, Ok. has a really nice bourbon called Reverence. My wife and I really like it. If you happen across a bottle I would like your thoughts. Cheers!
Get ready, it’s not even gonna be remotely close 😂 I’ve had several Russell’s store picks, one even 12 years old. But the 13 is a completely different animal
Can order Frey Ranch direct from their website. If you buy 2 bottles the shipping cost is extremely reasonable for these beautiful high quality, heavy bottles. Great whiskey.
LOL this "glass shortage" is a joke, Evan Williams 1.75l is $16 in glass...Jim Beam, the largest bourbon producer is bottling in plastic for $19 a handle, FOH.
I finally got a bottle of the Jack Daniels Bonded. I have to say I'm a little disappointed. The body is thinner than I've experienced from other BiBs and the flavor is more watered down than I expected. This is the first Tennessee Whiskey I've had that is BiB so maybe it's the Lincoln County process, but it's not nearly the flavor bomb I expected.
@@louissmithiii435 someone (I can't remember whom) said that it was like a watered down single select barrel proof, but I whole heartedly disagree. If that's what it really was, I would say it was worth the money. I'll stick to WT101, thanks
About a yr ago you posted a video titled.. in the field ..you tried JJ Bowman and said " i won't be rushing out to buy a bottle it isn't very good " now it might be the best bottle under $50.00 ? Your allowed to change your opinion obviously but wonder why the complete 180 ?
I’m a bartender @ Whisky Lounge in Reno, Nevada. We love the Smoke Wagon uncut unfiltered out of Las Vegas. That’s a great pick 🤙🏻
Thank you for reminding me. I finished my Coopers last weekend and I forgot to pick up a replacement. I know what I'll be picking up tomorrow.
The Penelope barrel strength is delicious as well.
I’m in SWFL and a friend found Smoke Wagon in Riverhead New York. I should have it Saturday. Can’t wait. 😎
Starlight Distillery is great regional one as well as Old 55 and Spirits of French Lick.
Thanks for the tip
Totally agree on the Coopers Craft 100 proof. I’m drinking on my first bottle and plan on getting another one.
Love Cooper's Craft 100. Shhhh
Awesome video and great list!!!
I'm going bourbon hunting this Saturday and taking this list with me! Cheers David!!!
Thanks for the info! I've been enjoying so many great bottles right now. 😀
Thank you for the great info love the videos
picked up a John J bowman single barrel and was not disappointed. definitely grab while you can
Nice list. Baker’s 7 is a treat.
Thx for sharing!
Great line up. Thanks for getting through them. Would you ever consider doing an episode about regional pours? Maybe pick 5 or 6 regions.
Never thought to try the Cooper’s. Just looked and it’s at the store a mile up the road. Perfect!
I'm on the west coast and I have a bottle of Frey Ranch. It is a must have in any bourbon collection.
You are spot on…at least for the first 5. I have all of your first 5 and stand by your choices 100%. Now I’ve got 3 more to hunt for.
Wish we had more Bourbon selection in New Zealand!
I’ve got 6 of the 8, really good choices.
Coopers Craft, amazing, found for 28 in Indiana
Bonded solid.. 36 in Illinois
Bowman small batch is nice
Russell's SB..awesome
Haven't done the 7....
Haven't heard this...what is in the MW....
Smoke Wagon, smooth as ice
Penelope Toasted damn nice...going Architect next....69 in Illinois

The wife picked up a bottle of the Smoke Wagon for me yesterday. Looking forward to trying it out.
If I ever travel anywhere I have to double my estimated travel time because I spend half the time bourbon hunting.
Tried em all. ASW, JD, SW, all good sippers, the rest are mixers
Nice one - cheers from Sweden! 🇸🇪😀

Maybe, except that's he's doing bourbons, not single malts.
Thanks for reminding us that there's a lot of really good regional distilleries well worth drinking. In the PNW, for example, we have some fine whiskies, as you note.
The Penelope is great. J Henry is another good regional bourbon maker out in the Midwest.
Just got me a bottle of copper craft 100 in Knoxville all day long under forty
Yeah, I’ve never seen Cooper’s Craft here in California but the Smoke Wagon is fairly easy to come by
The JD Bonded is great! With you on the Coopers too. I have a few Bowman’s stashed. Love that stuff.
Need to try Bowman and JD bonded
Luv the coopers craft for $29 in IN.
Just found a Bakers 7. I got a lot of apple juice in my bottle. Wonderful!
Next time I recommend you put a list on description so beginners like me can easily find those on Amazon or at least from an alcohol store like where I'm living in Vietnam. Thank you so much
My Baker's 7 is 7 year's 9 month's. And it's so delicious. With tax here in SW MO it was $63.66.
The Taconic cask strength finished in Maple is amazing, one of my favorite ones I've tried this year. CC 100 is a staple on my bar, trails end 8 was a good mention as well.
You can get one of these in Ontario Canada, the struggle is real
Not a fan of smoke wagon, but this is a strong list.
Great video! Cannot wait to try my Bowman!
Wild turkey 101 the best
I already have so much whiskey, but good picks. Would love to find Cooper's Craft. Or Early Times BIB.

Penelope 4 grain is really good for sweet tooth bourbon
Cooper's Craft so freaking good 😋🥃

How do I send a picture. You nailed it. I have the Penelope architect number two…so well balanced.
Great video,, but Jack to me was not good
Clyde Mays Alabama Style 86 proof whiskey.
Coopers a craft 100 is fantastic! I live in NYC and it’s not available. I get it when I visit family in Virginia.
Red Fork Distillery in Tulsa, Ok. has a really nice bourbon called Reverence. My wife and I really like it. If you happen across a bottle I would like your thoughts. Cheers!
I found a distillery in Greenville SC, Six and Twenty, they have an amazing 5 Grain Bourbon, u need to try!
Any Midwest recommendations? Living in southwest Michigan.
#1 Traverse city whiskey co, Mayor Pingree (Detroit), Eastern Kille (grand rapids) 👍
The Penelope Architect just doesn't do it for me. I actually just finished a pour again, just doesn't do it for me. Not undrinkable at least :P
Why get the JD Bonded, just go for the JD single barrel select
I’m local to RVA and can get you a sample of Frey’s Ranch bourbon and rye…
Just got a Russell's store pick and it's amazing. Also hunted down Russell's 13 at retail so I'm gonna blind the two on my birthday. So excited!
Get ready, it’s not even gonna be remotely close 😂 I’ve had several Russell’s store picks, one even 12 years old. But the 13 is a completely different animal
@@thomasmichael6509 Sad part is RR13 is cheaper than my store pick.
@@givannimikel4586 😂😂😂
@@givannimikel4586 but honestly though the RR13 really is something special. Definitely one of the best bourbons I’ve ever had I think
@@thomasmichael6509 that’s interesting because I’ve put the 13 up against some store and group picks and it kept underperforming.

Paid $23 for my most recent Coopers Craft….very good!!
Which state ?? I got one $26 when on vacation in South Dakota
@@Jared40 Kentucky….found it at Sams Club. Normally around $30 around town
Guys del mesa liquors is a great source for lotta these hard to find bottles theyll ship it right ya

Has almost a wet peanut flavor. Good mixer with Dr Pepper but wanted it so bad for it to be a sipper.

You should try Dettling Bourbon from AL!
I’ve seen some Dettling in my local stores, just never heard of it before. Might be worth trying
Minnick mentioned it now everyone is on it lol
I recommend the single barrel of you can get it 🥃
Bowman almost impossible to find in Colorado
Purchased one of those Fiddlers and I have to say it is not good. Respect you and usually agree with most but Fiddler is hard to swallow.
Where would you go to try to snag a Penelope Architect if you live in Virginia? Hate how limited our selection is
Maryland has it
I wouldn’t waste your time on Frey Ranch. It was a big disappointment. Super corn ethanol forward and felt super under-matured IMO.

Frey is legit. You can order them from their website.
STOP telling everyone to buy Smoke Wagon, PLEASE! It already flies off the shelves...
Kidding of course, everyone needs to try their stuff, it's great
Not a fan of Bowman…
