The Russians train with real rounds at close range shots by the head in training, they train that way to get the real feel when in battle. Many soldiers get shot and killed because another has shitty aim. There's some videos somewhere showing how they trained. Those Russians do some hardcore shit.
@@_Curanes_Rex Actually it was "only" blanks but at close they're still lethal. Some ppl died that way in the past. eg. 12:04 We had two of our guys killed and one critically wounded in a mortar accident in Mali. The grenade exploded in the tube and the two mortar operators had no chance. The defect appeared to be caused by the fact that the mortar shells were not composed of the same parts. The tail parts, the grenade body, and tube parts differed from each other, while the papers stated that it was one and the same type of grenade. The safety was incorrectly set and must ensure that a grenade cannot explode until the grenade has left the firing tube at least 40 meters. But with the faulty party, that distance was set between 75 centimeters and 10 meters. This was a reason to advise that the batch not be put into use. If the military had followed its own security procedures, the accident would not have happened.

Very late with my comment but here's my story: Live firing training up in the north of Finland, about 40km above Rovaniemi, we are all formed up inside of a trench, firing over the trench at electronic targets from different distances that pop up occasionally. The average temp was between -25° -30°, so the need to unjam your rifle due to moisture turning to ice inside it was frequent, this would always be the cock handle.. One of the motorcycle messengers who was taking part decided it would be a good idea to take his loaded rifle (RK-62) put it butt down, barrel up on the ground and use his foot to kick his handle and cock the gun.. when this was done, his gun AD'd, bullet ricochets off the trench wall in front, flies back and scrapes the side of his friends helmet next to him. Needless to say, he wasn't allowed to handle a gun after that for the rest of his service 😅
Private: "How did this happen, Drill Sergeant?" Drill Sergeant: "Put the rifle down and proceed straight to Catering Corps, private. You're too stupid to be trusted with a firearm!"
I know a guy who can accomplish that level "I couldn't give less of a fuck" on a regular basis, during an axe throwing lesson my bestie was chosen for a demonstration of how easy axe throwing can be once you practice hard enough. He was placed in front of one of the targets beyond the firing line, the instructor feigned a throw at him so good that I thought he actually threw it for a sec and my friend did not budge one bit. One of the only few ways you can achieve that is be really fuckin suicidal which my bestie is. He is still alive though thank frick.

One of the recruits in my platoon broke his cheek bone, looking down the sights and shooting a G3 (German military 1998). The biggest fail I saw in my time in the army.
Wounds like this happened a lot during shooting G3. If you are not well prepared for recoil it may hit your cheek or even eye next to a painful shoulder.
This is the kind of fun we had with both Americans and other allies who were on joint exercise in Norway. Back then we used G3, so letting foreigners soldiers shoot it from standing position if they are trained only with 5.56mm was often hilarious. Of course there were some who were either perceptive of your forward leaning stance or maybe had experience with sharpshooter or battle rifles of 7.62mm caliber before. I must say I do not really miss the G3, but that is probably because I am a designated MG3 gunner in a national guard now. It's greater mass absorbs recoil so well.
@@oditeomnes Yes, recoil of MG3 is really not noticeable (prone and bipod). Furthermore single shot is possible with a bit practice on pulling the trigger carefully. Shooting MG3 on gold status was very easy for me. G3 was not, but it also depends on sight calibration. We had some which were way off and one or two shots were needed to find the correct aiming point. G36 is a toy compared to G3, but getting a marksman badge can be done with far less training and skill.
This polish gun salute performed by no honour guard obviously, but random privates from a "round-up". They should load rifle while rest on thigh, rise it and rest and shoulder and the fire. Obviously one of them fired prematurely or had some gun malfunction... And yes they are firing blanks, but still AK blank from close up can leave someone's skull open ...
@@kiconator0979 I've seen someone burned to the bone due to hot dust and tiny metal fragments flying out the barrel, blanks are still very dangerous in close proximity.
I notice a distinguishable difference in the sound and feeling of my rifle when I fire the last round, it's a hollowish sound/feeling. It's definitely a different sound than shooting whith a mag with ammo still in it.
As someone who was Army Infantry, I'm never surprised to see recruits or even Soldiers who have been in a long time not know how to even load an M16/M4 when they are non-infantry. I'm talking about 1:40 in the video. Whatever their day to day job is like cook, clerk, supply etc.. they eventually forget how to load or even remember that you can run out of ammo. Sad but true..
When I was in the army there was like a truck driver at the rifle range. He shot his target but had for some reason loaded up a full magazine. The order came to clear the weapon, and he didnt do it properly. Gun was ak-47. He racked the charging handle and only afterwards released the magazine, so there definitely was a cartridge in the chamber. I was behind the guy and notified him about it, so danger was averted though.
The Army does a shitty job of reinforcing basic rifle use if you are not an 11B. Those cooks, clerks, supply guys see an empty M16/M4 a few times a year but only go to the range once a year for weapons qual.

I was a line coach to help all the guys on my boat qualify force protection so they can stand armed watched. We had like 20 guys out of a crew of 130 that I feared with weapons in their hands. One guy put the magazines in upside down multiple times throughout his time on the boat. Most of these people I didn’t trust if we ever had an active shooter or something because they sucked, but we needed the watches to be manned whenever we were in port. This is where we are in the Navy now and I’m glad I’m out now. The never ending requirements handed down by big navy are too much to handle and nothing can get done effectively, like training sailors how to properly qualify weapons and force protection scenarios.
I've met some real "winners" in boot. All of the scenes where the recruit fked up I've seen in one form or another. My belief is that these special recruits didn't have a game controller to reload their firearm or a button to throw their grenade. It's a brave new world out there...
Omg the guy that ran out absolutely killed me. And the sgt who was barely able to contain his laughter....Jesus. It's hard to make an instructor laugh. You KNOW this led to the kid being tortured every single time he had to go shooting after that. "Hey, Billy, don't forget to load the magazine this time!!!" "Hey, Billy, remember that switching to your secondary weapon is always faster than reloading!" "Hey, Billy, if it clicks, try pressing the button that drops the magazine and replacing it with a full magazine." "Hey, Billy, we were just joking, man, put the gun d--" Guess they should have left poor Billy alone.

Actually, any missiles today, and yes, up and including the RPG has two type of fuses to ensure safety, 1. all missiles, including that faile Javelin missile is armed with an accelerometer. This will not arm the main fuse until the missile reaches its top speed....In both the RPG and Javelin case, I doubt both reached their top speed. 2. These type of things are also armed with a timer fuse. This type of fuse will not arm itself until a certain period has passed before the projectile impacted something. This is obvious. It make sure the projectile will not arm until it's at a minimum safe distance away from the user. If it suffers a hard enough jolt, such as striking something, safety measures immediately kick in to ensure the fuse will not fire. And in both case, I doubt the projectiles reaches safe distance before the fuse can arm themselves! So yeah, EoD will actually have a pretty easy time since the fuse is basically "safed"...Although you still have to be careful of course!

I have seen more than on like that. Especially scope eye.
It directly indicates who need more rifle training ;-)

If it's about nukes, then I am sure it's more of an General and President thing.
Mr.President! I left the nuke launch case in Syria in yesterdays visit...
ahahaha
Sergeant* just correcting
"I don't understand that kind of training if you're down to flying back kicks in the military, things have gotten really bad." Lmao what a visual.
I was at the range this person loaded the bullets in backwards. Another time I was gonna shoot and the staff gave me 45 rounds instead of 9mm
My lord. I don’t get even. Even someone who never fired a weapon before it’s like putting a key in a car. Only works on way.
Maybe the guy was use to shooting a Boberg XR9S? I doubt it but I'm trying to give them every benefit of the doubt.
@@JS-qi1ou yeah, let's be real, those guys couldn't shoot a nasty glare, far less a firearm. I've never shot a real M4, but it should be blindingly obvious the pointy bit on the cartridge goes towards the enemy.
“How did this happen, Drill Sargent?”
Lol
I was laughing so hard at that XD
I can totally see me saying that tbh
5:15
"Tell me when to throw my grenade, battle buddy!"
Oh yes the "special" forces.
6:13 imagine that coming at you at the battle field
Yep. Game over. The enemies' asses are kicked. Looks are deceiving at first, but behind the uniform, the true side of the soldier is shown.
Greek army looks a lot less intimidating than it did back in the 5th century BCE.
Its a ridiculous copy of ancient albanian warrior outfit. Look on google how beautiful the original one was!
@@IGLIm ancient? You mean 300 year old ottoman army uniform that every subject of the ottoman empire had to wear? Including greeks
@@ethank.6602 are you a history expert or what? Albanians dressed like this every day and not just in war.
Although their heritage can be traced back to the time of Achilles. Eyzones or the Hellenic presidential guard are a ceremonial force now. That outfit though has seen action for like 400 years up to the invasion of Asia Minor.
@@IGLIm what the hell is an ancient Albanian ; ancient era is before the medieval times for sure. Albania as a nation and idea came up during the later years of the Eastern Roman Empire.
I'm all for tradition, but those greek outfits need to go. Replace them with hoplite armor or something.
THe tuto get up was hard to see.
That would be a serious technological upgrade
Personally , I would not want to mess with anyone with the guts to wear that outfit in public.
Why not just wear tu-tu's.
The two guys who fell did because the shoes they wear have fully nailed soles, remember my dad having shoes like that in the Swiss army.
On stone or tar it’s like skating.
As for the strange gait, there’s an interesting clip of a brit of greek origin explaining all the reasons of the gait.
one word to scare your buds in a training:
*BAD. 'NADE.*
That's 2 words though?

6:35 this is why I love these reactions Hahahahahaha The way he laughs at these guys... it's contagious. haha
Especially the "Scheiße" at the end killed me XD
0:42 There are no live rounds, just blank ones, but since solider in second row had his carabine in the line with next solider's beret when there was accidental shot it took off his beret. Btw it is not a drill but a salvo of honour during some of the smaller scale partiotic celebration in Poland looking at the environment it may have been Polish Independence Day- 11 th november
Agree and in addition I can say it was still dangerous. Some ppl died from blanks in the past.
@rush yes in Polish we call it Salwa Honorowa
The RPG failing was the only one that “don’t run” would be ok. Since it requires a certain g force to arm. It wouldn’t have armed and would be safe.
He must have known. I think if it failed I would wonder if the g force part worked as well.
@@JamesonsTravels well, the EOD guys are gonna have a fun time getting to blow it up to dispose of it
Actually, any missiles today, and yes, up and including the RPG has two type of fuses to ensure safety, 1. all missiles, including that faile Javelin missile is armed with an accelerometer.
@retsaM innavoiG might also have been a sim grenade, though.
@@StryderK and 3rd way is wire, some rockets have wire for control, and you need to pull xx meters /yards to activate for security reason
6:02 That's the traditional Greek uniform, worn by the rebels of 1821 during the rebelion against the Turks for the freedom of Greece. It is the uniform of the guards of the Unknown Soldier monument to wear those, to honor the sacrifice of those who foguht for freedom.
The "shoes" are called "Tsarouchia" and are known to be VERY slippery.
Alright I'm glad that you posted the comment. I quickly scrolled through to see if anybody had said something about what they were and why they were there. Thank you
@@Mitsal723 yeah I know who they are and what they do. I was saying thank you for saying who they were so others know instead of poking fun at them for being a goofy military.
So the Greeks went from pinnacle of ancient warfare to that... Sad... Guess things were much different back then.
@@redbear2113Looks are subjective when we judge the fashion of 200 years ago.
Besides, we won a war against an empire outnumbered and outgunned in this uniform. Being the pinnacle of warfare doesn't mean you have the latest tech or anything.
It means to have the warrior spirit and the indomitable will for freedom. The cunning mind for war and faith in the ideals and beliefs of your people.
If anything it proved Greeks are fierce soldiers of liberty since antiquity up to today.
@@redbear2113 Dude its a Ceremonial!! Guard. The uniforms they wear are not from today. Back in those days beeing hidden was not such a thing on the battle field as it is today. I mean the British were wearing Red uniforms.
If you are unhappy with the uniforms looking like skirts: Guess what romans and Ancient Greeks wore on the BAttlefield?
I can tell you this: they did not wear trousers.
Actually trousers were seen as beeing Barbaric by the ancient Greeks.
13:50 German pack 48
Other guy: bro it just came back and hit me
@Just a normal guy
The thing with that clip is that the dude actually died.
@Just a normal guy But it is true. This things kick back with a tremendous amount of force and are made of hard steel. It sent a grown man flying.
He was treated but sadly didn´t make it.
nope its an south korean art.
First: Pak (Panzerabwehrkanone) not "Pack"! Second: There was no Pak 48! Third: This is south korean army!
In Soviet Russia, howitzer fire you I guess
During a live fire and movement exercise we had a guy (yes “that guy” every platoon has) constantly yelling “stoppage” as we moved down the range. Turns out his rifle wasn’t loaded the whole time. In his defence it was night time!!! However not in his defence was we then had to spend 3 hours looking for a lost loaded magazine after we had finished.
He also set up his claymore back to front along with probably a hundred other things I could tell you about...... Good times :-D
0:44 the rounds are blank, and this is memorial salvo in poland, in polish army its done by whole representation company, and that was probably malfunction of rifle
either way that guy was golden. he did not flinch.
@@JamesonsTravels thats what we polish soldiers do, there is a saying that we have for such ocassions: "if something goes wrong say it was right and it was supposed to be that way and continue" thats the result of that saying no matter what continue with the drill and dont stop ceremony
And at close enough range he could have been killed even though it’s a blank
@@ariesunleashed1434 Maybe, maybe not. That blank clearly had a lot of energy but it's still a blank. Something you could survive, just kinda depends on a lot of stuff.
@@ariesunleashed1434 Unless the end of the barrel was practically touching the back of the soldier's head or a freak occurrence happened, where some of the brass from the casing broke off and was shot hitting him in an artery or somehow finding its way to his heart the chances of being killed by a blank are non existant. Probably got some powder burn on the back of his head though.

At 6:22 , the soldiers with the “unique uniforms” , in Athen’s Greece at their Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
They're really old, and they made them sort of authentic although the real ones were less ceremonial and looked more "badass". As a Greek im proud of our presidential guard but i think we could make a few changes haha
I found it a bit unfair for the guy to call it nonsense when the Greek traditions are older than the US country.

When my little brother went through Army Basic, apparently the gear supplied was so cheap, his grenade pouch tore open during a crawl, and he didn't realize he lost the grenade. So, when time came to toss, he was looking for his grenade, and the Drill Sergeant came up with the lost grenade essentially asking "Looking for this?"
