I just watched this and I'm honestly crying you spoke the words that have been stuck in my head for ages and ages and I could never push out. I write poems and I'm working on a slam poem as I'm typing this. but you have such a beautiful soul and I can tell you are definitely not the "cool" you talk about in this video but much more. You're real and not faking it through life like the rest of us. I believe you deserve much more then just the recognition you get for conjuring up the words and courage to say this let alone post bc most people don't like the truth.
I literally cried. This is everything I tried to explain to my siser last night. You see, she's 12. Last night she was telling me that she was going on a diet and wanted to dye her hair. Asked me if I would paint her nails and do her makeup. All because a "friend" had told her she looked lame. This poem needs a signal boost. Badly.
I am a senior in high school, and I relate to this now more than ever. I am terrified to take on all these responsibilities, and I constantly avoid making decisions for my future. I love this, keep practicing.
I was watching, nodding my head, then he said "when you're a little kid you have no reason to hate yourself" I almost screamed and automatically clicked the like.
While watching this I thought of Twenty One Pilots, then at the end I saw he had covered House of Gold. I love this poem so much, thankyou so much for uploading
TH-cam needs a love button. I've been feeling the same way for a long time and I'm not even as old as Anthony. I want to grow up to escape what childhood is holding me in but at the same time I want to go back to being a kid. I don't want to worry and stress and be depressed. This gave me tears, he is a really great poet and film maker and musician.
dang. I love how you pointed out what everyone thinks but is too afraid to say: we're babied up until we're 17 and we're forced to learn everything on how to be an adult in about a one year time span. this is really cool, one of my new favorite slam poems.
+Anthonyamorim this made tears dwell up in my eyes.. I'm half way through the video and I'm crying. I've been very deep in thought about my childhood that I never really had.. Thank you for the words I couldn't say
This is a lot of what I think about. When I was little I never though being a teenager was hard. I never thought I would be so broken. Thank you for making this video.
I love this! It proves to me and shows me that I'm not alone in this, I felt like it was changing because of me that I did something, but now I see I'm not alone in this growing up thing...
dont stop writing this is great! me being fifteen going on sixteen and having to grow up a lot and being terrified of growing up this was very relatable and it actaully brought tears to my eyes because it says everything that goes through my mind. youre a great writer and so passion filled.
Slam poetry amazes me. It's often so great, the voice is strong, and this is no different. I absolutely love Growing Up and likely will come back. I get this. When I was around 8, my parents had another child. Boy. He was the fourth child, 3rd boy, last. When I could not mess with him the same way my older brothers and I messed with each other, this poem would've been great to hear.
This is honestly written so well, and it's both serious with light humor, the verses are all put together how i think they couldng be done better, overall - this is fantastic, and the content is just the beginning of the genius in this poem.
This poem is the greatest thing I ever listend to and it truely expresses my thoughts on this topic. This is exactly the thing I'm struggling with...and now somebody finally read it out loud! Well done, thank you! :)
hey Anthony. If at all possible i would like to use this poem for this school thing. We have to recite a poem and my topic is growing up and stuff like that. if you can, i would just need the words so we could print them out so i can use it. please notice this, i need this done! if you can't i understand. thank you.
I'm graduating high school this year, so like everyone else my age I'm confused of who I am and how I fit into this word, but this really helped me. I love it!!!!
Damn boy keep up the good work, I don't do spoken word but I write alot I don't have the confidence even at my age now to do it but wow, strong and inspirational! Nice job!
Love this. My grandma is 81 and she's losing her memory. And her brother and his wife r having strokes and they're sick and my ex Bfs grandma is old and sick and it's just sad that we can't all be young and beautiful.
this is fucking awesome. Anthony, i can see your future, because i see your talent. i know it's very hard to not worry about things, about future, but try to ease your life a little bit by not worrying at least sometimes. wish i could say something that would make you stop hating yourself, but unfortunately i'm 18 and i still hate myself. anyway you're a good guy and i'm sure your dreams will come true. good luck to you.
Thank you, for sharing. Growing up is lame, to me. We were never taught how to do it, it was just thrust upon us like our hair and eye color. Thank you, for getting it and expressing it.
What no I'm not crying
I just cut an onion
im cutting cucumbers
I could watch this every day
I'm still coming back to this video what the heck

This is absolutely beautiful. I couldn't look away no matter how hard I tried. The words, your voice, and even your eyes are all captivating.
This is a lot of what I think about. When I was little I never though being a teenager was hard. I never thought I would be so broken. Thank you for making this video.
