- You know I always try to hope that Nintendo goes back to fix some problems these NSO ports have, and Stadium 2 falls victim to half the fun, and half the experience. No transfer pack usage and playability just cut the game in half. Hell of a shame man.

Nintendo phoning it in as usual. They did so well integrating the gameboy games on 3ds virtual console with all the services they could. Now it seems like they can't be bothered unless it's going to bring in quick cash.
Right?! If they can integrate that why can't they do that architecture for the Switch? Nintendo's brain doesn't function sometimes.

I don't know what y'all are complaining about when I was a kid I didn't have a transfer pack to play my gb game in stadium I always used rentals, I think the difficulty of the game is part of the fun, now everyone is forced to play the way I did and learn the difficulty curve lol
Yes and no, I still have to disagree. If the transfer pack was a selling point and that's not included in this version, then what the hell is the point? The game was more of an attraction point after post game on the GB
The entire point of the stadium series is to use your own pokemon in 3D. Just because you got yours from some back alley in Afghanistan doesn’t mean shit in how it’s supposed to play. Just means your parents were low iq monkeys buying you a game and you had to find out some way to cope

@@Kelphelp what the hell was the point? It was seeing these Pokémon fight in 3D. It was being able to make a team spontaneously and battle with another person within a few minutes. We get it. You're only playing the game now and you've never played it when it was released when you were a teenager. Clearly.
2:18 - Nah. GB Tower was a godsend back in the day, ESPECIALLY after unlocking Duduo/Dodrio mode.
With the increased speed, being able to play on an actual good, backlit screen, and not getting yelled at by my mom for stealing the AAs out the living room TV’s remote again, this became my preferred method of playing the Gen 1 games for a while until I found emulation.
Like back then it was such a useful tool but haven't integrated well in the modern age. Its still terrible emulation
A week before Stadium 2 was dropped on NSO I actually asked a friend if I could borrow his old N64 cart so I can play Crystal. I gotta say it’s night and day bro please just do yourself a favor and play it on N64 screw the visuals on switch. I’d argue that without the GB function you’re missing more than half of the game.

Yeah, nothing better than making your own team with the moves you want on them to use in stadium. Most rentals suck both in stats and moves. Good moves are almost only found in base pokemon who will have pathetic low stats and almost always go down in one shot and most evolutions are stuck with moves like ember or water gun.
And the few legendaries that are in rental list...damn they suck.
The amount of coding necessary to have Stadium 1 packed with a Yellow ROM, and Stadium 2 with a Crystal ROM, is probably microscopic in the grand scheme of things. Would that be perfect? No, but unless they plan on doing an update that allows you to pull from GBC VC saves, which they don't, then it shouldve happened. Its sad...
You literally cannot use the Pokemon on the box art.

Yeah, they are not on the rental list, neither are mewtwo, mew and celebi. The only way to use them was to actually have a GB game connected with them saved there.
As always, emulation on PC does it best. Not only can you play it, but you can link your GSC save from a Gameboy emulator.
It's an option for sure. Just would have been nice if nintendo officially supported this feature
There are Speedrunners that “Unironically” (and I mean it) only use rentals unapologetically so since bringing in your own mons breaks the difficulty balance in two. Basically those speedrunners make rentals actually legends in their own right. Especially with Stadium 1 where you can mess with the RNG so badly, you can cheese 1 hit KO moves like no one’s business

@@Kelphelp Pokemon Stadium 2 on the other hand has an entirely different RNG table and cannot be cheesed with Save States but speedrunners can find a way regardless and Werster’s 19 hour Complete the Game speedruns are what I’m generally following to chip away at both games (he’s playing on an actual N64, the save states thing with timing changes, I discovered myself) (working through Round 2 currently and just finished the Petite Cup again, also if I’m being entirely honest, you can stop caring after Round 1 is complete for both games, since there’s no worthwhile unlocks after since Mew for Prime Cup in Pokemon Stadium 1, as well as Celebi and Mew for Prime Cup in 2 are unlocked for entering R2 itself and can be used for both game’s free battles with the Prime Cup Rules)
At this point a new Stadium game is needed. YET again Nintendo sits on a pile of 💰.
I would disagree that Stadium is necessary as we have full 3D pokemon titles taking advantage of that demographic however.
I do think modernizing and optimizing thr game to have additional content to play without feeling repetitive might help its case
Yeah, a shame that the 3rd game of the series (yeah, 3rd... if you put it on the Japanese side of things by the way) is crippled on Switch, as part of the fun is using your own Pokemon (and yeah, you could potentially trivialize the challenge of the single player modes to some extent as well), it could be fun to play here and there in Free Battle on Switch or if you don't have transfer pak on the real deal, but still...
It's not like the game is totally inaccessible mind you. You can get by with the rental pokemon but the movesets and skills are so pathetic to put into play.

@@Kelphelp True, but as you said, with rentals you have to pretty much go to speedrun strats if you want to make progress overall (and abusing the 1 credit = whatever you need glitch in Stadium mode).
4:02 "ruined and destroyed", I see hardly any difference and the negligible difference that you do see is slightly less blur. See the mouth for example.
I'm totally playing the Stadium games on N64 with the GB(C) Pokemon games. In fact, I bought the Stadium games and some of the GB(C) games recently for that reason.

Já possuo um nintendo 64, um stadium 2 ,um transferpak desde😅 2002 e tbm um pokemon silver(francês). Então em 2022 comprei outro transferpak novinho e foi só alegria. Agora consigo fazer todas trocas
They should have modified the game to make up for the inability to use the transfer pack to fix all of the implications that that brings. Rental Pokémon should be allowed to be customized like normal Pokémon. That being said, that also implies the implementation of an experience system, a currency system, a broader reward system and a broader unlock system for the rental roster. The move reminder would be more crucial in a version of this game that works like this, so it should be readily available instead of being a reward for beating the Elite Four.
That would be a whole other project if that needed to be done, and goes way beyond what the NSO can do which is bring ports of classic games as they were (for better or worse)
It's easier for Nintendo to do nothing than to spend time and money modifying it for convinience.

It is certainly within their capability to modify those games. Porting a game and modifying it are two separate things that don't interfere with each other. There are plenty of games that have had minor changes made to them so they can work at their best in a new system, especially when it comes to connectivity to other gaming systems and hardware.
The issue is that Nintendo doesn't care to make changes, so those games can't work at their fullest on the Nintendo Switch without using the transfer pack. They need to release the Gen 1 and Gen 2 games on the Nintendo Switch and establish connectivity with the Stadium games for them to work properly as they were.
update the game and add all the Pokemon to rentals @Nintendo

As I never played Pokémon on Game Boy (it was easier to save a few bucks and buy a Transfer Pak to play it on the N64), I am amazed that the game WAS NOT SUPPOSED to sound so glitchy, and that was actually the GB Tower the responsible for those wanky sounds. Holy cow lol.
It's a crazy eye opener but it's true, the sound quality in the GB tower was pretty terrible and I always hated playing Pokemon games on the tower because of it. Honestly it never felt right
They shouldve put the older games on switch to along with this and Im guessing they couldve made a device that allows physical copies of those games to be linked up to the switch too
Its possible, but I don't think having the physical devices to work is a good idea. These older titles are much more expensive and it makes sense to keep everything digital and transfer. But we couldn't even get that.
Sadly ill be playing this on my homebrew switch with the pokemons from my virtual console games from my 3ds. Its a shame that i can easily do what nintendont
Damn you can transfer them over like that? I honestly had no idea you can transfer Pokemon from thr 3DS versions to a switch homebrew
@@Kelphelp you need a homebrew switch but you basically drop the stadium 2 save on A pc, you drop the virtual console save on a pc. And with project 64 you join the two and Register your teams on the stadium save. When you inject that save on the switch again the register teams will be there.
I Def have a Homebrew Switch so it's all good.

I wouldn't exactly call that process "easily", especially since most people wouldn't even have access to a homebrew-able Switch, but nice alternative for those who do.
i assume theyre preparing everything and getting all the pokemon games ready like stadium 1 & 2 , so that when they drop pokemon gameboy it will already have integration with all these games right off the go :)
I do highly doubt it since Nintendo hasn't done it for Stadium 1, but who knows I guess. I don't have much faith they will bring that Integration. They missed it with Fzero Expansion Pack and possibly here too.
@@Kelphelp well because my guess would be as a developer / business mindset lets get all the n64 games that are supposed to connect out first , this way if they release the gameboy games first before getting the intergration connected between all games at the start, people might finish pokemon gameboy and not come back to it for the newly added game integration features between the n64 games bc they beat it already.
this gives people a reason to get the nintendo online sub currently for the 64 games , and holds onto to future membership subs for when they release pokemon .
so release the 64 games and any games that connect to them first, and then get the integration code working properly and then release all the gameboy games.
i highlyyyy doubt nintendo would not release them, they have been rereleased for every handheld so far. i assume its hard to get it all working on modern platform with multiplayer cuz pokemon gameboy was coded in assembly xD
It's possible but given that Nintendo actively gives very little connection between GB to N64 content I don't think they want to. I get the model but they never seem to follow. The bare minimum is what they like. Just barely

The only reason to play this game on the switch are the minigames (specifically Delibird Delivery)… me and my brother love that game and would only play it on emulator…
Now we can play it on the tv… and that’s it… the game is impossible to beat fully so there is zero investment to be made like this… which is a shame because I have 100%ed this game in 2017 … it was a whole lot of fun
Omg stadium 2 was my life for years it was incredible and so difficult I never got to best the castle! I think I’m gona get the expansion pack just for this 😁 I even loved the mini games!
this is why Nintendo nowadays has no idea how to treat their community well way for example porting Pokémon stadium 1 & 2 , if the port is made by fans for the fans, obviously would retain the features that pkm stadium is well know and also fixing the really awful rental Pokémon's because the rentals are made just to fill up and not concisely giving improper and unbalanced move set , fans would fix this major problem that stadium games has and actually give the rentals proper moves and stats to be good and decent , Nintendo in the way they just has no intention to do a remake or an enhanced version because he thinks the game do not has a big community just as other pkms games and only cares money and nostalgia and satisfying the community bringing back old games but the treat Nintendo did to pkm stadium was ridiculous for skipping the main concept of the game, I bet big n knows how to treat his games and community with respect , and for me, anyone in the company charged to port the game in nso had no idea how hard the game without owned pkms because both games works with RNG and the main feature of the game was and thought was "impossible" to read data of the gen 1 and gen 2 games in ns technically is possible because this game reads the rom and the save file of the gb pkm games and an example of this the emulation of the transfer pak that pj64 handles , also the game was released way too quick before announcing the core entries for the gb and gbc .
Keep your eyes out, with N64 games making it easier than ever to get PC ports, Sam's could be said for this
The best solution would be a PC port for Pokémon Stadium 1 and 2 with new features including 60 fps just like Ocarina Of Time and Majora’s mask. I play Pokémon stadium 1 and 2 on Project64 with my Pokémon from the Gameboy roms but they could still be better. It’s funny how GTA V actually runs better on an SD card than these N64 roms do on Project64 on my internal drive on my Lenovo Legion Go. Nintendo will never bring back these cool features. They’re restrictive like Apple.
They were disappointing games? For me they were the definitive way to play Pokémon on a big screen, i loved them.

i don't really see whe´re the 2d art is ruined on the switch, it has a blurry effect but the n64 already had a super blurry resolution, they could either apply a more complex texture filter or reworking on every 2d texture from scratch and pokemon company doesn't seem to actually know how to do high definition textures since there are n64 graphics on scarlet and violet
I think Nintendo will add the Transfer Pak accessibility when they decide to release Gen 1 & 2 games on the GBC whenever that is for now though it's a brutally hard game with rentals

@@Kelphelp I don't think it'll happen because if it did they should have had Pokemon Red/Blue launch before Stadium 1 released on NSO it's backwards now and I didn't forget Yellow that would be released in 6 months because they love to drip feed content as for Stadium 2 Same thing but for G/S then Crystal sometime later on

I wish they would add gen 1 an 2 GB games and make them somehow sync the saves with stadium games but i doubt it will happen.
Playing stadium with only rentals really sucks because the good moves are almost all on the weakest mons, who have pathetic stats and will almost always go down in one shot and the evolutions almost all come with the weakest moves, so they can't really one shot anything and will always have a hard time because ALL of the opponents teams are rigged with the best movesets for coverage and if you manage to get to round 2, it's even worse because all opponents teams there have perfect or near perfect stats, so good luck surviving with the rentals that will almost never get a first move due to their low tier stats.
PS1 & PS2 should come with roms of the Gen 1 & Gen 2 games so you can actually play the classic games to amass viable teams for the Cups and Gym Leader Tower. Let the Game Boy Tower actually serve a purpose.

Def not a good idea. Those titles can easily stand alone on themselves and Nintendo knows that. They won't do it

As you pointed out in the video, the fact you cannot transfer Pokemon from the mainline games into the Stadium re-releases severely limits the appeal.
That's why I said the Stadium re-releases would benefit greatly from coming with roms of the mainline Gen 1-2 games so you could train up your own mons and not rely strictly on rentals.
But I can see why Nintendo wouldn't do that.

Probably, I wish i remembered to test it WITHOUT the expansion to see if performance improved.

What do you expect Nintendo to just re-hire all of the original dev teams that originally worked on these classic N64 games and fix all of the bugs and problems with these old 25+ year old games?
The problem isn't the original game itself it's how Nintendo is handling the emulation, not the game itself. When did I say the original game had an issue?
@@Kelphelp The only way Nintendo would probably be able to fix these emulation problems on Switch with these classic N64 games is if they recreate the games entirely specifically for Switch.
@@Kelphelp it's like emulation is missing certain components from the N64 motherboard that helps boost graphic textures in certain games and makes gameplay run smoothly.
The game runs better than original hardware. It runs at 30fps when original hardware runs lower than 20. The big problem is lack of Pokemon integration with Gen 2 and lag. Graphical filters are an issue.
I literally have no idea what your saying in the slightest. It feels like we are talking about two different issues. The Switch has emulation issues, that is the actual problem. Nothing to do with base game whatsoever.
I even showcased how it uses expansion pack textures and higher resolution models. So I have no idea where you are going with this
The rental pokemon SUCK execpt like 4 and the legenderies/mythicals they have terrible movesets so you can't even use most of them (for example empharos knows only one electric type move zap cannon and scizor and heracross don't get a single bug move!)

this year we're getting scarlet and violet dlc 1, next year the rest of it and probably because pokemon "loves" his fans will launch pokemon 2d collection with gen 1 to 2 but you'll only get red, blue, gold and silver, yellow and crystal are probably gonna be dlc

What about it is the same? Nothing has been changed, this is the same rom as the OG. I have no idea what has been changed. It's been ported to a newer infrastructure to be used. That's it
If you expect anything from NSO versions of N64 games aside from the benefits of emulation and added online then you're not thinking. That's all it is at the end of the day. Emulation. So you get the basic benefits being a higher resolution and save states.
Regardless of emulation or not it's possible for Nintendo to add these mentioned features. They just choose not to

It is very disappointing what Nintendo does, last Week i got (again) a Pokemon Hype and took out my Team i made a few Years ago to beat Stadium 1.
I changed some Attacks by cheating some HMs on Emulator on PC, put my Save Game back to the original Module with the Retrode2 and played on original Hardware. Here i am also able to take the N64 Save Game and play on PC, Everdrive and Mister.
What holds Nintendo back, connecting the Virtual Console or else to the Games?
Ahhhhhh very interesting way to play, taking native saves and transferring them to the Mister. I'd like to try as well in some way using some kind of save project to transfer the save.
I actually do this quite a bit on PS1 to Vita! Or retro PCs to modern

2009 about i bought the Memory Card Adaptor for the PS3, thinking that one Day i will be able to use it on the PC.
Last Year i discovered Memcard Rex and was able to throw the Save Games to my PC^^

i have zero intentions of getting stadium nor stadium2 for the switch. nintendo didn't just cut the reasons i had for getting them, they completely ANNIHILATED them. why did they do this? ego stroking?
I wouldn't go as far as ego stroking at all. It's more that it's a missing feature advertised that allows more interactivity for the player and without it it does feel lack luster. It's more laziness than ego stroking. It's easier for them to NOT put it in than to do so
