My Mum was in a children's home in Portsmouth, England in the early 70s. She has told me some horror stories about things that happened to her and her friend now I am an adult and I was in tears just hearing her talk. Gary Glitter used to visit this children's home, and he would take young boys on days out. One day she was in the kitchen area making a cup of tea for his security guy. He leant over to my Mum and said "Never be alone with Gary and never go on a day out with him". She said she didn't understand why that was said until she was much older and it all came out what Gary Glitter is about. She said that guy knew what was happening obviously. My Mums best friend was taken to a children's home in Jersey with no explanation and she was used and abused there by the people who were supposed to be protecting her. She didn't have anyone visit her as she had no family, so they knew she wouldn't be telling anyone. She killed herself when she was 15* . Years later, it became public knowledge what was actually going on there and Mum swears blind that she ended her own life because she couldn't live with what those animals done to her, but she also acknowledged that she may not have done it to herself. Jimmy Saville regularly visited the Jersey one with Gary Glitter and another man called Cliff Richards. My Mother hates all of them with a passion. She applied for all her paperwork from the children home days, and so much was redacted or completely missing. They called my Mum "a sexual deviant" in the notes and that broke her heart when she read that. She was 14 Colin, had never even kissed a boy and then these abusers were claiming she was the problem. Sorry for ranting, but this video really hit home with me. Thank you for your continued content, and hard work Brother. Edit* I spoke to Mum more about this today, and she said the Portsmouth Cottages Home she was in was linked with the cottage homes in Lambeth. She said kids would be taken between the two for weekends at a time. She said the kids always came back, but it was forbidden to talk about things like that between eachother because you were classed as "a sexual deviant". She told me today that her notes from back then reccomended she recieve " psychiatric care in a secure environment" for "the rest of her life" after she could legally leave the home. She reported abuse twice, and in the end she stopped telling the house master as it continued and she was called a liar. She recalls a time where a guy who was also in the "care system" with my Mum, and she said he was evil. He was older than all the other kids, would beat boys and girls for no reason, abuse the younger girls and boys, spit in their food and take what he wanted from anyone. He used to sit there and play with himself infront of the girls and would make the girls strip down while he done it. She also reported that and was beaten for raising the issue. I previously told you about her friend and the Jersey home. Mum said quite a few people she knew from the home were sent there and not everyone came back. It was often said between the kids that the missing kids had "run away" while in Jersey. Of course, this is what the kids were told by the house master. She told me that the Jersey home was prolific and that all the abuse came out years later. That was the one Cliff Richard frequented with the other mentioned names, and also the place that bodies were found around the estate, buried in unmarked graves. She mentioned if you get time, to look into the Elm Guest House. Somebody called Cliff in the comments "Kitty". That was the name he used to sign in with, along with politicians from the time and other faces that were known. She hates him so much, and said today "I guarantee when he dies, it will finally be confirmed what he was!". Just for the record, she said the same about Jimmy Saville. (As a kid I wanted to apply to appear on his programme "Jim will fix it" and I came down excitedly with my written letter to apply and she started going crazy like I had never seen, screamed that it will only ever happen over her dead body and she ripped the letter to shreds.) Obviously, it all makes sense nowadays with what I know, but at the time I thought she was being mean. She never told my Dad (he died christmas eve 98 when we were kids) because she said it would have eaten away at my Dad and destroyed him and he would have done all he could to find everyone that had ever hurt her. She said they ruined her childhood but she wasn't going to let them ruin the family she had dreamed of having. The boy I mentioned above doing his sick act infront of/to the kids actually stayed in the area like my Mum. She never saw him around, but she said to this day, whenever she hears a certain song from The Carpenters, she freezes up, shakes and feels like that helpless little girl allover again. That was the song he would play on repeat while he done those things. He died when I was about 14 as Mum saw it in the paper. She found were he was and spat on his grave. She said it didn't help or give her closure, as he and others still feel helpless everytime he is thought of. I told you my Mum was 14. She was actually 12. She said she was wearing vests at the time, that's how young she was. Whenever she smells aniseed it makes her physically sick as one day, that boy was eating aniseed balls, and as she walked past him he spat in her face. The smell brings it all back. Mum was diagnosed with PTSD because of her childhood, but she has always worked, always worried about us and always provided everything we needed after Dad passed away. She was 31 when we lost him bless her. She hasn't had it easy but she hasn't let it beat her and she has lived with it all on her shoulders. If you saw my Mum, she would be smiling, but if you look into her eyes, you will see the pain still there, and that breaks my heart. Sorry for ranting guys, but my Mum means so much to me so this really hits home.
The best thing that could have happened to your mom was growing up to have a child just like you. What she's been through is the stuff of nightmares. You've likely saved her life.

Colin, I have said this before, but we really need to collaborate and include the troubled teen industry in this...both are related and more is connected than you would even believe and I would know because I spent 22 months in a place like this when I was 16. Once I got out I dedicated my life to exposing institutionalized abuse of all kinds with an emphasis on the troubled teen industry, religious schools, wilderness programs, group homes, etc...my podcast and work speak for themselves. I have conducted over 150 interviews with survivors and counting!
These types of places seriously need to be thoroughly investigated, like back in my day when I was a kid if some of the others didn't start acting right and straighten up they were threatened to be sent away to The Boys Ranch and Boys Town , and oh a place called The Grove here in Florida. When they got sent to those places and came back, they were not the same. And after learning and accepting about my own abuse and assaults growing up, I see that same look in others that they were hurt in unspeakable ways, to the point where these kids weren't vibrant anymore, didn't socialize anymore, didn't ever want to do things they used to like have sleepovers or camping in each others backyards together, go on church trips with the grown men.... It was like these kids had lost their spark and color of life. You could tell they went through something horrific and weren't gonna tell a soul.

I don't get how those places of torture and abuse are even in existence. How we three places that I can pay to kidnap my kid( should not that be s harge right there ?) There was a man called Michael Tarraga who featured on some podcasts on here. He wrote a book called ‘The meat rack boy”….he exposed a ton of abuse in the uk through his personal experience. I became friends with him and despite his horrific childhood, he remained happy, funny and such a colourful character. Sadly, he passed away not so long ago. This has always been a very important issue, close to my heart. “Suffer the little children…” as it says in the Bible. Children’s rights and care are sacrosanct.
Your videos are always very well done. Thank you. About the "degrees of assault". I was 7 a stranger snatched me from our yard. He was able to force his xxxx in my mouth before my mom saved me. He got away but found 2 days later with another child. In court mine was dropped to entrapment and hers was molesting. He forced it in my mouth! And in her body! And we were both taken! Mom rescuing me was massive for my healing. I still see her coming 40yrs later and will never forget. A cop rescued her but court slapped us both across the face. I didn't know until adulthood what happened in court. My parents kept that info until I was older. The man served 3 months and went on to be caught 4 more times until he finally died in prison. I pray she has a family like mine to help her. I wouldn't have healed without mine and I've heard enough stories of kids that don't.
Like everything for such things to be done against children for many years bye so many it would of needed to be given the government ahead and the protection so they would never face the consequence of all there disgusting behaviour if they didn't have the support and protection of powerful people

I actually worked as a temp admin worker in Lambeth Foster and Adoption when an undergrad in London. All I can say is this doesn't surprise me. * EDIT: I worked there for 1 month as a temp worker doing data admin. I didn't "see" anything: however, what I did see was that at least 1/3 of the social workers and the people they managed were absolutely indifferent to their charges (i.e., the kids they processed) and their suffering. They were jaded, cynical and I would assume, therefore, very easy to target for corruption to nefarious ends as described in this video. Also, the whole place was quasi-shambolic - it doesn't surprise me that files go missing etc. I no longer live in the UK - one of the reasons I left permanently is because of stories like this - organised child abuse is rampant throughout the UK. This case was actually one of the things which motivated me to leave - I don't want to live/work in a society like that.
That mentality of being quiet about it is why things havnt changed, try to make a difference for once unless your too worried about how it will affect your income in the future

It is not the only children's home in that are doing the same thing, there was a children's home near to where I live that was run by Priests and nuns. The exact same thing happened to the children. When I hear off these extremely disturbing cases across England, There is a film called THE Boys of St Vincent's. That reminds me so much of what these poor children went through at this children's home, it was closed in 1980, after the children that were abused decided to go to the High Court. The council that owned the children's home refused to take any action against the priests who were doing such nasty sexual abuse to these children. The outcome of the adults who took it too the high court, the priests were jailed. Priests who did this committed suicide in case it came to light and could face prison time.

I was about the same age as Julie and Melissa. Useless to say I had a lot less time to hang out with my friend in the local playground. Tank you for your work. The first Dutroux episode was really good. You covered it very well. Because Belgian people are not as blind as the mesa make us to be. I want to make sure it's true before believing everything I read . If I talk about my research and something is false I would like to be corrected.. I researched this and found many different of the same article, but reading through them somethings are different. So I talk to people I know from those areas to see which ones r fact and which are altered. Any good investigation u weed out the altered and get the facts.

Myself and my 2 siblings, saw abuse and were abused in these children homes in London UK, Wandsworth and Lambeth borough!!! Me and sister were put in a children’s home in Tankerton, run by Salvation Army!!! We were traumatised. My sister and me were put temporary why Mum was unwell in hospital!! My brother was sadly a victim of abuse from older boys and staff members who were abusing as well, and they knew this older boy was sexually and physically abusing the youngest and done nothing about it!!! The whole Institution is Corrupt, from almost every professional working eking for government!!! This messes with our minds up till this very day😢😢
They gave him back to Mum by the age of 15!!! Too much ish going on in this world, it all needs to be spoken about instead of sweeping under the carpet!!! Too many children’s lives ruined by these perverts!!!😢

He and his siblings went through hell in a few of these care homes.

Look into the British Child Migration scheme and the Christian Brothers. I know someone that was one of the children that was shipped from Northern Ireland to Australia where they suffered the most depraved abuse. He received compensation through the redress system but did not have control over the money, it was kept in a trust and he had to apply and justify his reasons for accessing his money. He was abused and controlled until he passed away. RIP JB xo

My Mum was in a children's home in Portsmouth, England in the early 70s. She has told me some horror stories about things that happened to her and her friend now I am an adult and I was in tears just hearing her talk. Gary Glitter used to visit this children's home, and he would take young boys on days out. One day she was in the kitchen area making a cup of tea for his security guy. He leant over to my Mum and said "Never be alone with Gary and never go on a day out with him". She said she didn't understand why that was said until she was much older and it all came out what Gary Glitter is about. She said that guy knew what was happening obviously. My Mums best friend was taken to a children's home in Jersey with no explanation and she was used and abused there by the people who were supposed to be protecting her. She didn't have anyone visit her as she had no family, so they knew she wouldn't be telling anyone. She killed herself when she was 15* . Years later, it became public knowledge what was actually going on there and Mum swears blind that she ended her own life because she couldn't live with what those animals done to her, but she also acknowledged that she may not have done it to herself. Jimmy Saville regularly visited the Jersey one with Gary Glitter and another man called Cliff Richards. My Mother hates all of them with a passion. She applied for all her paperwork from the children home days, and so much was redacted or completely missing. They called my Mum "a sexual deviant" in the notes and that broke her heart when she read that. She was 14 Colin, had never even kissed a boy and then these abusers were claiming she was the problem. Sorry for ranting, but this video really hit home with me. Thank you for your continued content, and hard work Brother.
Edit* I spoke to Mum more about this today, and she said the Portsmouth Cottages Home she was in was linked with the cottage homes in Lambeth. She said kids would be taken between the two for weekends at a time. She said the kids always came back, but it was forbidden to talk about things like that between eachother because you were classed as "a sexual deviant". She told me today that her notes from back then reccomended she recieve " psychiatric care in a secure environment" for "the rest of her life" after she could legally leave the home. She reported abuse twice, and in the end she stopped telling the house master as it continued and she was called a liar. She recalls a time where a guy who was also in the "care system" with my Mum, and she said he was evil. He was older than all the other kids, would beat boys and girls for no reason, abuse the younger girls and boys, spit in their food and take what he wanted from anyone. He used to sit there and play with himself infront of the girls and would make the girls strip down while he done it. She also reported that and was beaten for raising the issue. I previously told you about her friend and the Jersey home. Mum said quite a few people she knew from the home were sent there and not everyone came back. It was often said between the kids that the missing kids had "run away" while in Jersey. Of course, this is what the kids were told by the house master. She told me that the Jersey home was prolific and that all the abuse came out years later. That was the one Cliff Richard frequented with the other mentioned names, and also the place that bodies were found around the estate, buried in unmarked graves. She mentioned if you get time, to look into the Elm Guest House. Somebody called Cliff in the comments "Kitty". That was the name he used to sign in with, along with politicians from the time and other faces that were known. She hates him so much, and said today "I guarantee when he dies, it will finally be confirmed what he was!". Just for the record, she said the same about Jimmy Saville. (As a kid I wanted to apply to appear on his programme "Jim will fix it" and I came down excitedly with my written letter to apply and she started going crazy like I had never seen, screamed that it will only ever happen over her dead body and she ripped the letter to shreds.) Obviously, it all makes sense nowadays with what I know, but at the time I thought she was being mean. She never told my Dad (he died christmas eve 98 when we were kids) because she said it would have eaten away at my Dad and destroyed him and he would have done all he could to find everyone that had ever hurt her. She said they ruined her childhood but she wasn't going to let them ruin the family she had dreamed of having. The boy I mentioned above doing his sick act infront of/to the kids actually stayed in the area like my Mum. She never saw him around, but she said to this day, whenever she hears a certain song from The Carpenters, she freezes up, shakes and feels like that helpless little girl allover again. That was the song he would play on repeat while he done those things. He died when I was about 14 as Mum saw it in the paper. She found were he was and spat on his grave. She said it didn't help or give her closure, as he and others still feel helpless everytime he is thought of. I told you my Mum was 14. She was actually 12. She said she was wearing vests at the time, that's how young she was. Whenever she smells aniseed it makes her physically sick as one day, that boy was eating aniseed balls, and as she walked past him he spat in her face. The smell brings it all back. Mum was diagnosed with PTSD because of her childhood, but she has always worked, always worried about us and always provided everything we needed after Dad passed away. She was 31 when we lost him bless her. She hasn't had it easy but she hasn't let it beat her and she has lived with it all on her shoulders. If you saw my Mum, she would be smiling, but if you look into her eyes, you will see the pain still there, and that breaks my heart. Sorry for ranting guys, but my Mum means so much to me so this really hits home.
The best thing that could have happened to your mom was growing up to have a child just like you. What she's been through is the stuff of nightmares. You've likely saved her life.

I cant believe that there is so many people that abuse children ..... i was at a school that got closed down cos of the allegations for sex abuse , physical abuse and mental abuse, i was a child that was mentally abused n i think i only got that cos my dad was a policeman n i had uncles that were in the police too n i would tell them things n suddenly i would be moved to a different "house" moved classrooms, what happened to other kids was awful ....... it just scares me that there are paedophiles everywhere u truely dont know who to trust anymore n thats so so sad 😞

Colin, I have said this before, but we really need to collaborate and include the troubled teen industry in this...both are related and more is connected than you would even believe and I would know because I spent 22 months in a place like this when I was 16. Once I got out I dedicated my life to exposing institutionalized abuse of all kinds with an emphasis on the troubled teen industry, religious schools, wilderness programs, group homes, etc...my podcast and work speak for themselves. These types of places seriously need to be thoroughly investigated, like back in my day when I was a kid if some of the others didn't start acting right and straighten up they were threatened to be sent away to The Boys Ranch and Boys Town , and oh a place called The Grove here in Florida. When they got sent to those places and came back, they were not the same. And after learning and accepting about my own abuse and assaults growing up, I see that same look in others that they were hurt in unspeakable ways, to the point where these kids weren't vibrant anymore, didn't socialize anymore, didn't ever want to do things they used to like have sleepovers or camping in each others backyards together, go on church trips with the grown men.... It was like these kids had lost their spark and color of life. You could tell they went through something horrific and weren't gonna tell a soul.

I became friends with him and despite his horrific childhood, he remained happy, funny and such a colourful character. Sadly, he passed away not so long ago. Colin I for 1 is extremely grateful that you took it upon yourself to shed light on the abuse, trafficking and sexual exploitation of children. This has always been a very important issue, close to my heart. “Suffer the little children…” as it says in the Bible. Children’s rights and care are sacrosanct.
Quite a few Labour politicians were trying to change the law on the age of consent to lower it to 10 or even 8, these people are sick.
Your videos are always very well done. Thank you. About the "degrees of assault". I was 7 a stranger snatched me from our yard. He was able to force his xxxx in my mouth before my mom saved me. He got away but found 2 days later with another child. In court mine was dropped to entrapment and hers was molesting. He forced it in my mouth! And in her body! And we were both taken! Mom rescuing me was massive for my healing. I still see her coming 40yrs later and will never forget. A cop rescued her but court slapped us both across the face. I didn't know until adulthood what happened in court. My parents kept that info until I was older. The man served 3 months and went on to be caught 4 more times until he finally died in prison. I pray she has a family like mine to help her. I wouldn't have healed without mine and I've heard enough stories of kids that don't.

I actually worked as a temp admin worker in Lambeth Foster and Adoption when an undergrad in London. All I can say is this doesn't surprise me. * EDIT: I worked there for 1 month as a temp worker doing data admin. I didn't "see" anything: however, what I did see was that at least 1/3 of the social workers and the people they managed were absolutely indifferent to their charges (i.e., the kids they processed) and their suffering. They were jaded, cynical and I would assume, therefore, very easy to target for corruption to nefarious ends as described in this video. Also, the whole place was quasi-shambolic - it doesn't surprise me that files go missing etc. I no longer live in the UK - one of the reasons I left permanently is because of stories like this - organised child abuse is rampant throughout the UK. This case was actually one of the things which motivated me to leave - I don't want to live/work in a society like that.

Thanks Colin, for bringing the child abuse in the children's home in Lambeth. It is not the only children's home in that are doing the same thing, there was a children's home near to where I live that was run by Priests and nuns. The exact same thing happened to the children. When I hear off these extremely disturbing cases across England, There is a film called THE Boys of St Vincent's. That reminds me so much of what these poor children went through at this children's home, it was closed in 1980, after the children that were abused decided to go to the High Court. The council that owned the children's home refused to take any action against the priests who were doing such nasty sexual abuse to these children. The outcome of the adults who took it too the high court, the priests were jailed. Priests who did this committed suicide in case it came to light and could face prison time.

Hey, looking forward for the episode you researched recently in Charleroi. I’m Belgian and the Dutroux saga significantly changed my childhood from innocent healthy freedom into dark fear. I was about the same age as Julie and Melissa. Useless to say I had a lot less time to hang out with my friend in the local playground. Tank you for your work. The first Dutroux episode was really good. You covered it very well. Because Belgian people are not as blind as the mesa make us to be. I want to make sure it's true before believing everything I read . If I talk about my research and something is false I would like to be corrected.. I researched this and found many different of the same article, but reading through them somethings are different. So I talk to people I know from those areas to see which ones r fact and which are altered. Any good investigation u weed out the altered and get the facts.

Myself and my 2 siblings, saw abuse and were abused in these children homes in London UK, Wandsworth and Lambeth borough!!! Me and sister were put in a children’s home in Tankerton, run by Salvation Army!!! We were traumatised. My sister and me were put temporary why Mum was unwell in hospital!! My brother was sadly a victim of abuse from older boys and staff members who were abusing as well, and they knew this older boy was sexually and physically abusing the youngest and done nothing about it!!! The whole Institution is Corrupt, from almost every professional working eking for government!!! This messes with our minds up till this very day😢😢

Look into the British Child Migration scheme and the Christian Brothers. I know someone that was one of the children that was shipped from Northern Ireland to Australia where they suffered the most depraved abuse. He received compensation through the redress system but did not have control over the money, it was kept in a trust and he had to apply and justify his reasons for accessing his money. He was abused and controlled until he passed away. RIP JB xo
