    Like Chef Aj says, "If it's in your house, it's in your mouth". That being said, I'm in the weight removal phase, so this type of indulgence is something I would do in a VERY blue moon. I commented earlier and said I was trying this recipe, and I will, but not for quite a while. I have zero control over higher processed foods and if I make them, I make sure I have a small serving and give the rest away. Just works better for me.

    Glad to have a dessert recipe that I can make for my occasional treats. In order to keep serving sizes in check, I will cut up all the pieces and freeze them in individual servings so it isn’t as easy to eat more than one at a time. I just take one out of the freezer to thaw. Thanks for your great informative videos! You are the best!

    • @aprilbl00m
      @aprilbl00m 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah that's my trick too. Cut them up and keep in the freezer so you have to take just one out at a time. If they're left in the fridge or on the counter, they just disappear! I find brownies freeze really well. The texture is still perfect.

    P.S. Recipie looks YUMMY!
    EXTRA P.S. My downfall is sweets. So I won't be able to eliminate them 100% at first. But at least I'll be downsizing, healthier etc.
    I'll be backwards, so to speak. Keep eating them the healthiest way Possible, in less amounts and go DOWN. Can't do zero at the beginning then add. It will take longer, but I'm in no rush. Also know if you loose weight to fast.... flabby town all over. BTY, I do need measurements 😉

    Excellent recipe! Thank you❤️
    This shake helps my chocolate cravings…
    In a good blender…
    About 3 cups of ice
    1 banana(frozen is best)
    Powdered cocoa to taste (about 1 tablespoon)
    1 cup almond milk(a low calorie milk)
    Stevia to taste.
    It’s simple. And many know this recipe already, but I had to share. You can make so many variations this shake. My kids love raw pumpkin and pumpkin spice shakes. Just delete the cocoa and add other fruits as well. Yummmy!

    This is truly amazing! I promise, since I've started to follow you i feel like you brought light into my life. You are literally covering all my unanswered questions about food, weight loss, nutrition. I've been watching a lot of videos on these subjects but i always had the feeling I've been listening to the same speech but from different people and that ive been spinning in circles. Even their meals are copy-pasted and if you're trying to eat like them, if they are promoting weight loss, you will might end up gaining weight because you are probably not doing as much sport as they do, or your metabolism just reacts differently from theirs...or as you said in one of your previous videos, you are trying to cook all these fancy meals but that's not really sustainable, therefore you are not consistent and you end up ordering food cause you're just too tired to think of a new recipe, get all the fancy addition and ten cook it. I did have the same question, how often do fit people eat desert? How can i find the balance? Never heard anyone talking about this before. Anyway, i basically wanted to let you know you are being appreciated.

    Thank you Chelsea for another great video. I make a very similar sweet potato brownie they are delicious. A little hack to save you some time with the chocolate on top of the brownies. Immediately after removing the pan from the oven put the chocolate on top of the hot brownies and just let it sit there it will melt and then you can spread it across the top.

  • @annettelauretta
    @annettelauretta 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Before I clicked on this, I thought you were doing your own version of 'A Big Man's World" brownies. They call for sweet potato, and stirring in cocoa powder to the potato, and then putting a nut butter of your choice into a cup, add maple syrup to it and microwave until pourable, add to the mixture in the bowl. It is here that I deviate and stir in some plant-based chocolate chips and it doesn't call for flour of any kind, but it does need some. So I add ground oats to it for structure. Otherwise they're delectably gooey and taste like a brownie and fudge had a baby 🤣🤣🤣
    I'll try this version as it looks pretty darn tasty 😋😋😋

      Holy moly. Your version sounds...decadent!

    • @annettelauretta
      @annettelauretta 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@js-pb2kf I've made it twice, but that was years ago. Working on removing weight and this version is one of those 'once-in-a-blue-moon' experience. Because of covid, I have no one to pass them off to so I don't make it. Instead, I sub in oatmeal, cocoa powder, vanilla paste and coconut extract along with a bit of maple syrup for actual sweetness. I add hot water from my Keurig and let the oats soak up the ingredients. To my tastebuds, it reminds me of the chocolate haystacks my Grandma used to make. Hits the spot at the time 😋😉😏

    What’s your fav dessert? Mine was definitely apple pie, but this brownie hits the spot too.
    Its very occasionally though!!
    This would be a great thing to make for if you were going to a birthday etc and you wanted a sweet treat but not to eat the other processed foods.

      My favourite dessert is anything chocolate based ( vegan chocolate of course ).

      Hands down: Jill Dalton's Oreo Cake!!! I made it for my birthday and 5 times since!🥰 Seems like I have one in the fridge at all times these days. I think I will slow down, though, and start my weight-loss soon. This is obviously not for weight loss, even though it fills me up so nicely, I don't eat more than 1000 Cal. of cake a day, even "free range"😂 and happily eat veggies in between. Also, I started substituting 1 cup of Brazil nuts (for selenium) plus 1 cup of pumpkin seeds for 2 cups of cashews in the cream, and maybe 1/3 cup (I don't measure either, Chelsea! 😉 )of blackstrap molasses plus a squirt of agave syrup for 1 cup of dates in the cream - it turns the cream brown and the cake looks like a chocolate cream oreo in the end, but it has more iron, which I seem to need, and still tastes fantastic! Also: I use about 1/3 cup of Hemp seeds and 3 cups of water, high-speed blended, as my plant-based "milk", not soy milk, to increase omega-3s. th-cam.com/video/o-LBPlHp0JI/w-d-xo.html Love you videos, Chels! Thank you so much!!! 💖

    I had never considered why I do not like to measure things out. But after hearing you talk about it I am nodding my head in agreement. It all makes sense now :)

    So so good having a treat that’s oil free for us people who can’t process oil in out bodies. Thank you Chelsea!

      I put all the ingredients into my app to just look at what the calories would be and it really isn't that bad. My big loaf cut into 18 pieces and worked out to about 150 calories a piece and the pieces were quite large because I had a lot of sweet potato in my batch LOL. Not bad at all and I didn't use chocolate on top of half but on the other half I did for my husband :-)
