Unfortunately, what Tobey failed to do was, was to demonstrate the more chirpy, comeback, funny spiderman in the movies. he never stayed quiet in comics... he would never take things srsly in battles (apart from things like Back in Black). I believe that's what let his performance down significantly. And just to note... dont argue (though u havent) that spiderman 3 was great. srs, they totally did not serve justice to the Venom in that movie. Argh, it was an utter waste of a brilliant villain which most comic fans love. Also, after Spiderman 1, his personality would have become more confident and cool towards things as Peter Parker, as in the comics, AND normally; he had been the hero many times and faced worse. Tom Holland was liked because he grabbed everything, his attitude at battle, his quips, his personality as Peter - he does have a lot of potential. so yeh
