If for some reason you walk by DD and crave it.. you can order in person open the app & they'll scan the barcode within the app. Despite ordering in person you pay for it using the money you have & discount apply. Not to mention you'll earn rewards still

Don't forget to tell people that even today in 2021 the app still will NOT let you choose your own donuts if you decide to order munchkins or a 6/12 count box. Wanna order 12 donuts for you and the fam but you only like a couple different kinds? Too bad, you're getting VARIETY unless you go to the store and want to stand in line and pick them out. Bravo, Dunkin. I'm sure someone will say the reasoning is due to not all stores carrying all donuts, or not knowing what donuts are in stock at a particular store at the time of ordering. Well, there's a simple fix for that. It's called LOGIC and not catering your app to the stupidest people in our society. Seriously, at the very least just list the most COMMON donuts you sell. Then at the bottom of the screen you put 2 check boxes. One is for an acknowledgement to have the staff pick any of the remaining donuts if you didn't pick. So if I want 12 donuts but only chose 3 chocolate and 3 glazed, then I would acknowledge I want to have the staff pick the rest randomly for me. The second checkbox is an out of stock warning acknowledgement, stating that Dunkin' Donuts can't guarantee the in store inventory of every store at the time of ordering and I agree that if a donut I chose is not available then the staff will pick random ones for me. WHY is that so hard? I agree there are a bunch of idiots out there that you have to baby with simplified features and over-explanations of common sense things, but you're really pissing the rest of us off.

Let’s take something SUPER simple, like carrying around a few bucks in one’s pocket to buy coffee and a donut...and turn it into a LUDICROUSLY complex process that basically pushes all the work to the customer and requires a tutorial video! It was bad enough I had to register my credit card to use the perks program, but Ima leave this mobile order shit to the millennials. I like to actually engage with humans in public spaces instead of burying my head in my phone 24-7.
alternative viewpoint: this app lets you leisurely browse the menu if you don't know what you want. Or, if you're a regular and always get the same thing, you fast-track through everything without having to say the same thing every day. And if you're ordering multiple coffees with all different dairy/sugars it's easier to set everything up and organize what you're ordering. Instead of taking up time in line at the drive thru ordering/confirming everything, it's already printed on the screen at the restaurant.

One doesn’t fast-track through anything. It is a process fail, and a solution that no one needs or has ever asked for. This has made me visit Dunkin a lot less. I have deleted my account.

Amen! I’ve been wrestling with this Perks shit for 6yrs. Still don’t know how to use it. To re-load a Dunkin Card, I’d often have to give them the card and my debit card which slowed everything down. So, online I’d have to spend 5 minutes locating the card, then copy the 20-digit number on the back (which is the smallest font available) and perform a money transfer from my bank account or debit card. Then at the store they run it through their machine just like a debit card. I never EARNED anything!😂
