    I like the pen. The marriage of metal & wood looks good & functional. The cap mark on the barrel is only in one spot. Would expect it to be around the barrel if from capping & uncapping. Wonder if it's from the cap catching on the barrel when it's not centered. Is there a sharp edge to the barrel metal ring? I also enjoy Bobby's Architect nib. He did a nice grind. I have it in a 323.

      I didnt find a specific sharp edge, but I do think it is from the cap not being centered when taking on and off. I have noticed the few times that I have posted the pen it has scratched some of the finish off the wood.

    I just got this pen today and did not know it is 9035 until I found your video, in its listing in Aliexpress the listing only mentioned Jinhao wooden pen. The pen cap clip is springy. The fountain pen is quite light and comfortable to hold. The pen can be posted securely and well balanced while writing. The worth of this pen exceeds its price tag, very value for money. Very beautiful pen, it will be perfect if the nib is dual tone. The ink flows consistently despite using a dry ink - Lamy Black - so far Jinhao pens have never disappointed me, they are always ready to write out of the box without tuning.

    Oh, it's a #6 nib! I was convinced by the stock photos that it's a #5 size. Thanks a lot for the comparison. It's quite a bit bigger than I though

    I love Bobby’s architect grind nibs. I only have 2 but will look for more. I also wanted to mention, because in a past video it was so humid, I got a dehumidifier 2 years ago and have used it almost everyday since I got it. In Houston ,in summer, I empty about 2 gallons of water 3 times a day! I think it takes some of the stress off the air conditioner, too. FYI-smiles.

      Thanks Barbara! We have been strongly considering a dehumidifier.

    This feels like a change in direction for Jinhao. It is quite similar to the Moonman M6 and perhaps intended as a direct competitor? It did very well in your writing sample and I like the design. I note both you and chrisrap52 are going down the difficult path of pen ratings. Not easy and I wish you both well.

    Must say I like the look of the M6 more than the Jinhao.

    Metal screw in cap, cotton bud, touch of Vaseline on it, dap onto screw head, seal against rust.

    I think the review is straightforward and commonsensical. Refreshing! The nib is clearly a good idea. I am sorry the wood is wearing out already. The pen was otherwise so classy to look at.

      I have been using the pen a lot and really enjoy the nib. The spot has gotten worse but does not bother me.

    what size nib does the pen have? standard no. 5 or no. 6?

  • @stevehuffman7453
    @stevehuffman7453 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Maybe if you didn't have the cap angled slightly when putting it on you wouldn't be scratching the wood. If you look when it is capped you'll see that the metal ring clears the barrel by a couple thousandths of an inch.
    Are you SURE the cap threads are metal? On the other Jinhao wood pens the cap threads are metal. Which would be easier and cheaper to assemble? A one piece cap ring and threads or two piece?
    As for the screw holding the clip ... It is PROBABLY stainless steel, so no more likely to corrode than the nib.
    Good looking pen. I may have to order a couple inspite of your bad review.
    All my other Jinhao pens have been winners, I rather expect these are as well.

    Great review. I wonder, would a Moonman M6 nib work on this Jinhao? They both look like #6.

      The nibs are 100% interchangeable between these 2 pens. Both use #6 nibs. I have a dozen or more of both.

    Doesn't look as thick in the body as the M6 Moonman.

    • @aaronspenvideos4420
      @aaronspenvideos4420  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It isn't, I would say the m6 build quality is much more solid. I mainly got the Jinhao for the nib and to add to my wooden pen collection.
