Look at it. What a thing. I just love it. These are quotes for the ages. This describes tamiya in the 80s.100%. Do me a favour look at that boomerang on the shelf. Then pull off the blue battery holder. Put it back on the shelf. Look at it... then probably put it back on but I think it would be interesting to try being that it will be sat on a shelf
I remember back in the late 80s when I raced here in Australia a friend of mine got The Boomerang such a beautiful looking RC
Nice One Glenn👍🏻👍🏻
I paid £50 for my original 18mth ago. Absolutely love it, 1 of Tamiya's ultimate classic designs IMO
Boomerang was my first Tamiya sometime around 1987 i think. I'll pick another on up soon :D
That Tomy intruder give me the dribbles
Ah memories. The first car I assembled. I had a Grasshopper before that but my mom paid the RC shop to assemble it as she didn't want to even though I really wanted to ;)
Hey I have this in 1986! I was in Junior High!
I put RS 540 Technituned/ Technigold motor on it! 😊😊😊
it is hard to explain to the young folks, what a cool thing it was to get the new catalog. (here in germany the company was called "Graupner") were you can scroll and drool through the pages. to see the new cars every year. and then after begging and scraping all of your pocket and law mowing money together. driving to the shop with my father and getting a hand on those sweet tamiya or kyosho cars. aahhh memories
Lovely! The Boomerang was my first NIB Tamiya back in the day and I really enjoyed it. Now a restored shelf queen… Great to see it gives you so much pleasure even now.
get sheet masking, cut small piece to cover outside window. outline with a marker, peel it off and stick it on wax bake paper cut it out and stick it in opposite window.
Fantastic thank you 😊
Wow, the Boomerang is a beauty!! For me it brings back so many happy memories, the Boomerang was my first proper RC kit, I'd still like another one....
Absolutely love the Boomerang, you can tell where it has evolved from but it stands out on its own.
It looks amazing!
Nice job. I’ve never owned a Bommerang. They look great. I like the body style. Just never had Tamiya 4x4’s back then and after building and running my Super Hot Shot I got turned off them. Maybe sometime in the future.
Wow 🎉 that looks awesome. Thank you again for the kind words. I do it for the videos 😂
Haha the thank you goes to you my friend 😇👊🏻
Great work, the Boomerang looks spectacular. I really enjoyed seeing the Marui Ninja again too!!
Man l forgot how gorgeous your collection is Glenn! One day soon a full tour would be great please! Nice and slowly too!
The Boomerang came out sweet! Just like you said what an 80s tamiya classic the Boomerang is! Such a good looking buggy!
Hell yes. I second your suggestion on the full tour👍
Hmmm I hadn’t thought about doing that video 🤔👊🏻
Perfect, looks great in the cabinet 😎
I wonder if we are in another golden era of RC. Seems like so many great kits are available these days one way or another.
Love it, i put one of these on my list to santa, along with a few others 😁 but im not holding out he’ll deliver 🤔 but i can allways treat myself next year 👍
My favourite Tamiya as you know Glenn ...Great to see you've now added one to your collection 👌
The blue plastics and the decals seem to be lot darker blue than on the original
My favourite Tamiya car
One of the best looking Tamiya cars in box art colours I think 👍
Totally agree my friend 😎👊🏻
Nice one Glen,🎉
Gav. For the window masking, just cover the outside of the windows with tape, trace round the frame of the window with a pen then peel off and cut out. Then just put the left hand outside mask onto the inside of the right window and vice versa
Great job Glenn! For me this is the most beautiful buggy, not as badass looking as the HotShot but it all works for me.
Agreed my friend 😊👊🏻
Looks great man! I just got a vintage 58055 Boomerang shelf queen in the mail yesterday complete with vintage Futaba electronics and the original MSC. Anxious to do a partial resto and tidy up on it.
Such a great looking buggy the Boomerang. The Hotshot family is tough to beat. Lovely display Glen.
Amazing rc car 😮
Awesome video, I’d forgotten how good the boomerang looks!👍👍
Haha that was exactly the same for me 😇👊🏻
Love the boomerang, another icon brilliantly done 🙌
Great build series Glenn. Looks great on the shelf
Great to see another great build 👍 .......
Magnificent! Gotta love a Boomerang. 😍👍
Amazing collection! 👏👏
For me I think you have the right idea making them shelf queens or only driving sometimes. They are not the strongest or the fastest and hop ups are expensive plus I like nitro though I'm building my first TT02 Porsche GT3.
It is such a great looking kit and it looks wonderful in the display case! I need to do the tire lettering on mine but I am going to run it first and then come back and do them, easier than touching them all up after the maiden run!
G'day Glenn mate wow your Boomer turned out great I still haven't built my one yet I said I was going to try some Aboriginal art on the body lol only trouble with that I'm not Aboriginal nor have I done any Aboriginal art before lol so my Boomer may take a bit to finish. Cool as video mate 👍👍
Awesome work 👏
Hey mate I just wanted to tell you that where I’m from we have similar issues with humidity when painting bodies. But one day I found a second hand food dehydrator and tried it out. Low temperature worked a treat. I can fit a body and wing in at the same time no problem and the paint dries very evenly and quickly. The tires take a bit longer for some reason but the results are great. The one I use is the Excalibur brand and got it on marketplace very cheap.
Just a thought mate.
Keep up the great content
Oh wow that’s interesting thanks for letting me know this 😎👊🏻
great video , that 'swines' comment really made me laugh too ;)
Thats awesome mate ✨👀✨
Looks great Glen such a classic car. I will get one eventually, never owned that style chassis Tamiya car believably. Great job can’t wait for the next project. Needs yellow or dark blue wheel nuts 😂.
Haha blue wheel nuts 😅👊🏻
Nice work Glenn. I'm currently also 'enjoying' squeaky bum time. I'm putting decals on my Egress. I have a bot of a backlog to get through.
Egress 😍😍😍
@@TAMIYALegends Er not this one. The chassis is one I’ve bought and repaired/resto-ed, some parts might not be correct, and the body is TBG, and MCI decals. So it’s a bit Frankenstein and I haven’t done the best job of paint and decals. It’s good from far.
hey Glen I built one for xmas and thought i had thrown away the window mask by mistake.... i guess tamiya thought we should do our own masks
You should made it to run.
That collection is missing the fox,get one built please.
I do have one to build 😅👊🏻
Do you know if the 2008 and the 2023 Boomerangs are the same?
Do you ever worry about flat spotting the tyres ?
Yeah I do turn them but for me it’s worth it to having the cars sat right on display 😅
Gangsta.. how.does.the boomerang differ to hotshot 2?
Not a great deal tbh 🤷🏼♂️
Guess it’s mainly looks 🤔
I think the boomerang is in my top 5 best looking RC vehicles ever. I wish tamiya still had the in-house design talent that they used to... The engineering might still be there but the art and styling is weak compared to the past. (They farm it out and it still goes wrong.) Really, the other "old guard" RC companies are all in the same boat. Where did the design talent go?
Update, I just bought a Boomerang.
The driver might have long legs lol
Lol 🤣🤣👊🏻
