Excellent review thank you! I’d buy it if it had 4k, good optical flow and moveable by remote camera, better range, smother fpv even at a higher price. Hopefully the next one will be more advanced

The original Black Hornet Nano PD-100 is made by Prox Dynamics in Norway and was first deployed in 2013. These nano drones comes in sets of two with one controller and spare batteries in a pack designed to be carried in a BDU cargo pocket (leg pocket in camo pants for you civilians), costed ~US $190.000 per set and was made specifically for Special Forces ISR missions (Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance). They are equipped with long wavelength infrared optics, 1 mile data-link range and flies for 25 minutes per charge in a TOTALLY different league from this gizmo presented here which is just a cheap, rattling, lookalike toy.

it should be able to, but we need to get rid of that crappy heavy WiFi FPV camera and stuff and install all in one 5.8ghz system. I may find time to do this operation later.

Hi Ali, great review! Yours was one of the first I saw before I decided to go ahead and get one. I have the C127 but it didn't come with the phone clip, wonder where can we find one? Also, the video recorded has no audio, is that normal?
none of these come with phone clip and yes they do not record sound
I watch all my TH-cam videos in 720p on my phone its far better than 480 and better than 1080 which buffers and pauses all the time so 720p is the best option 👍👍

Still a very cool heli. Just needs some upgrades like 2.7k video and 5.8 fpv. Maybe a led searchlight. And a floating,waterproof version!

Is it possible to add a GPS or a new receiver to work with the four channel flight controller that's already inside?
I do not think so. but adding a 5.8ghz FPV AIO system should be easier

If i can get it
Its a good rc Heli Model, i notice that and i was thinking if i order it or not, i did not see any recessions about it, also no Video in Action, now i am positive surprised, acceptable price 73 Euro and an acceptable cam. I had before a much more expensive single Rotor rc helicopter without this functions and to guide complicated, really not easy, very different to my double Rotor Indoor toy Heli and my outdoor quadrocopter drohne, it was easely crashed, the consruction was very sensitive and weak, i gave up Single Rotor helicopters and just use successful alot of quadrocopter drohnes with cam, but now i read this Modell is much easier to handle and fly, if you can handle a quad copter, you can handle also this Single Rotor helicopter, of course with exercises to get experience with it step by step. I will order it, you help me alot for my decition.

I just got a LX F-22 Raptor EDF 2x70 MM I wonder if I can use the Radiomaster TX16S carbon red on this F-22 but I don’t know 🤷🏻♂️ which receiver to Buy , on the box it’s written 12Channels
Can I use this Futaba R7014SB 2.4GHz 14CH FASSTest ?
FASST will not bind with RadioMaster TX16S, your only option is SFHSS futaba receiver or you can go with FrSky Receivers.

Fun fact Ali, The original of this, the Black Hornet, it is only bought and used by the US army. The heli is developed and made in Norway.

LED Lights will blink and you will feel it needs more throttle to stay in the air. and you can lend. you can also see LED lights on battery for level.
The Black Hornet was developed in Norway and first adopted by Brits. It's tiny, maybe 40 g at most. And probably $15k per!

No, it's on Gen 3 now and has a range of more than a km. Only thing it has in common with toy is the shape!
Excellent review from someone who knows drones well. This drone is obviously no good for any kind of serious filming. Will wait for a better spec version. These mini drones are the future but not quite yet.

It would be better if it was a collective pitch helicopter or if it atleast had actual collective pitch heli blades instead of the crappy fixed pitch blades because it would just give beter cyclic authority and better wind fighting capabilities. Now before you say that would not work, there actually is one other fixed pitch helicopter that actually used collective pitch blades. It was the esky 300 v2.
agreed. there are collective pitch mini helis before. even eachine had those. they could have done that easily.
AFAIK, the military one also don't have a collective pitch. It has a passive cyclic pitching mechanic (not sure if this is what they call it) that works without servos and swash plate. We can see on the pictures that it only has the main shaft going to the main rotor, no other links.
Will it bind with the TX 16s???

Do you have a follow up to this helicopter? Did the company get back to you (Next generation)?
I was hoping that the company made changes as you suggested (especially about using FPV goggles and DVR).
In addition to the suggestions, adding a set of three cameras, the first is looking forward, the second is looking down and third in-between angled at 45 degrees, for day and night flights.
and capable of sending footage to a handheld terminal. Also, using material that could withstand harsh weather.
Carbon fiber and better blades.
Covert on board sensor would be nice.

The 720p is typical Eachine E58 quality (or lack of). The picture is not too bad, but the slow 12-15 FPS frame rate is terrible for motion video. And the mentioned $40 drone holds a micro SD card, so why not this one too? Another miss.

I have one on order but given your comments I am going to consider swopping the camera for a 5.8Ghz unit and getting rid of the App feature.

@@alishanmao Hi Ali, I have now converted it to 5.8Ghz FPV. It was fairly easy to do using an Eachine TX06 Split camera, will upload shortly.
I like that you keep telling people that phone apps steal your data. Most people seem to be completely unaware of this or they don't care, at their peril. Fun little helicopter though.

i hope so, GPS, auto Return to home, 5.8ghz 400mW Tiny VTx and Camera, 1080P DVR and ELRS system. we can go 2km easily in current flight time

Very Unique, but certainly disappointing based on what is available today in 5.8 VTX and cameras. Equip it with 200mw VTX and a ELRS /crossfire receiver and will become a really popular item. OR make it as an optional kit to allow add your micro receiver and VTX. but supply with a quality camera.

Very cool but not for me. I’ll stick with my DJI MA2. Yah I know it’s not as good as the 2S or Mini :3 but still checks all the boxes for my needs.

720P is not standard definition, I should know I have a quad copter that does 480i (badly, they way they encode it, it comes out as 240P vertically compressed). It is not a great picture, but it is far better than standard definition.
I think I will wait for something that works better. Also brushed motors? Really? I have had enough of replacing motors that have worn out their brushes. Brushless or not at all.

I would happily pay 3-500.00 for a much better version of this, sort of like DJI type quality. I wanted to like this but i am afraid i will stay away from this one. I will wait until some company decides to make a quality version of this.

If the military created it, it has to be bad ass and i do believe one can be created for the consumer market with DJI type qualities. Now it's just up to some company to wanna make it and i wish DJI would do it. I believe that if it is made by these other companies who make junk, were not gonna get a good quality one made. Look at the fimi, it has been plagued with problems and it's not a cheap priced Rc quad. I do know that if DJI did it, it would make one that the consumers would desire.

Wifi range is determined by the phone's wifi range too
my phone has a good wifi range with other drones :D tested 800 meters with other GPS WiFi FPV Drones. this one does have a crappy wifi inside, gotta admit that bro

While the camera is a disaster, in all honesty, I have seen 1080p and 4K drones with identical quality; but the files were larger. So, at least they are honest that the camera is bad and do not deceive as much by promising 4K.
