Tinnie’s description of this lock,
5 pin ISEO euro cylinder: 30 Aug 24
Lock given by BrettSucks
Made for and Furst pick Brett.
I would like Hobson's Choice to travel to America.
Apart from 3, which is sort of an hourglass, all the key pins are variously serrated. Chamber 3 in the core is over-milled, the other four are both undercut and trenched! Which basically means: if you pick it clockwise you get deep false sets and anti-clockwise the pins get trapped.
Driver 3 is a barrel - just to be annoying and add some stability to the core - it works better than a standard pin. All the rest are thin spools with rounded heads - very catchy.
Hobson's Choice Story
Hobson was Thomas Hobson (1544 - 1631), he was an English carrier (he carried the mail between London and Cambridge), he was an Inn keeper and he let out hackney-horses, especially to the scholars and staff at the college in Cambridge.
The term "Hobson's choice" basically means 'take it or leave it', there isn't really a choice! I apply the term incorrectly to picking a winner of the Grand National race where I'm going to place a bet, but I've no idea who is going to win!
You've got to open it both ways: clockwise and anti-clockwise :)
Very nice
Thanks McD ❤️
Nice! You did good! And Tinnie had some sharp ginmdeep spools for the trench traps. Lovely! 😀
Thanks mate, yes I don’t know what he’s trying to do to me, he’s used skinny thin spools before but not that many in one lock 😵💫
Hi 👋🏻 Brett
It's one of the best fights!!!
Very impressive 👏
Crazy manufacturing pins 📌
It's really cool done ✔️
Good luck 👍 🤠 ☮️ 🌍 🌎 🌏
Thanks Tipa, yes those are some serious spools 🕺
Fantastic picking. Every time I see you with those Moki picks, makes me think I should give them a try. Hope you're enjoying the weekend my friend 😁👍🏻
Cheers rook, yes you should get some, I think you’ll really like them.
The tension control looked immense in this pick!I love to see someone picking down on a CL it’s not to common.I’m just getting into challenge locks and am loving them!!Thanks for sharing mate great content!!
P.s I had to drop a sub to,excellent stuff!!
Thanks mate, yes I pick pins down, I’m British & we install locks that way over here so it makes sense to me to pick them that way,
It comes in handy if I have to pick locks in real life to help others out,
& yeh that one needed good tension control especially picking it anti-clockwise.
Thanks for that, I’ve returned the favour & subbed to your channel 🕺
@ I started picking down when I first started but struggled with oversetting once I got to harder locks like the AL 1100!I could only open them picking up.I will try down again as I’m from the UK to and found it very successful at the start of my journey. Thanks for replying mate much appreciated 👊🏻
@ Cheers Buddy have a great week!!
Those false sets were pure evil,
when you gutted it I realised exactly why. Tinnie really did a job on this core and what about just how thin and sharp those pins are.
Nicely opened TWICE and both ways too.
Nicely done Brett 👀
Thankyou Roy, skinny spools in action, that Tinnie is trying to slow me down, he made me pick that one both ways 😆
Vicious spools in there BS! well done mate!
Thanks mate, yeh very vicious, I’m starting to think Tinnie don’t like me anymore 😆
Однозначно Мастер своего дела. Браво 👏👏👏
Thanks very much 😊
G'day Brett... Good to see you 😊
G’day Simon, hope you’re doing well mate 🕺
Looks like a fun lock. I dropped a sub as well 👍🏻
Thanks mate, yes it was a fun lock, Tinnie makes lovely locks,
Cheers for that, I’ve subbed to you too 🕺
@ thanks 🙏🏻
Nice one Brett mate 👍
I know that I keep saying it, but you're too bloody quick 😂😂😂 Excellent picking darling 💖
Cheers and all the best to you and yours 👍 🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻 🍻
Thanks darling, that’s what she said.
Slick Job on that Brett, I can get CW fine but no dice on CCW yet, very impressive 👌👌👍👍🍻🍻
Ha, no sooner did I write that that I figured it out, it's open! 😁😁😁😁
Thanks Paul, yes that one is a bit of a bugger to pick anti-clockwise, at first it seems impossible with everything locked up rigid.
Nice one Paul, I hope I didn’t give any secrets away 😂
@@BrettSucks You gave me an idea and that followed through, it was more a case that I just needed to sit and think about how you'd get out of the trap, certainly one of Tinnies tougher locks
@@paulg413 I’m glad you sussed it mate, I’m looking forward to watching your video,
Yes sometimes you have to take a step back & think about tactics to try & get over Tinnie’s tactics 😆
