Thank you for this. I used to listen to Life with the Lyons on the radio, back in the early 1950s -- I had a terrific crush on Richard! I remember Barbara telling him, "You were lucky--they had no choice when they got me, but they actually chose you, so you should know for sure you were wanted..." They spent quite a lot of time in my (at that time) hometown of Southport (Lancashire, UK). I also remember hearing (I think on the American Forces Network) an episode of Ozzie and Harriet's radio show from the US--a week or so later, Life with the Lyons had the same identical script--so I think the two families "worked together" as far as their programs, sharing the stories and scripts. Since we did not get Ozzie and Harriet in the UK, and I presume Life with the Lyons was not available to US audiences, it worked out well.
