Big thank you for sharing about the nightlife too, I'm sure many would need it! Going to Japan in Feburary for the first time and as much as I would like to experience an Izakaya, I doubt my family would be too keen on it, so hopefully I'll find someone to go with one day. Thanks for the video! Made planning for my trip so much easier!

1 - Done several times, yet I want a new photo this year
2 - Had great times in Yoyogi-koen, so of course I'm going back
3 - Been there a couple of times, still a good place to enjoy good and cheap suchi.
4 - Done little shopping around Shibuya, will do more this time. Don Quijote was fun
5 - As an anime fan, Mandarake of course was on my list.
6 - This one I havn't tried, so I'll put it on the list.
7 - Yes, this's is one of my main objectives of this trip, Shibuya Scramble
8 - Not a fan of drinking, still I've a friend who lives there so I'll surely hit an Izakaya or two on my trip.
9 - Another downside for me, yet I'll keep it in mind.
10 - You son of a gun, nice way to end the video and such a helpful tip for those who may or may not need it.

*Japan to increase COVID entry cap on arrivals to 50,000 from Sept. 7*
(Kyodo News, Wed 31 Aug 2022)
TOKYO - Japan will raise its daily entry cap on arrivals to 50,000 from the current 20,000 from Sept. 7 in a further easing of strict COVID-19 border controls, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said Wednesday.
With the country lagging behind other major economies in opening its doors to inbound tourism, foreign tourists will no longer need to travel on tours with a guide, Kishida said.
"We have seen international exchanges gaining traction in various parts of the world. We are raising the daily cap on new arrivals to 50,000 from Sept. 7 to join the trend and make sure the benefits of the weak yen are felt," Kishida told a press conference.
Starting on Sept. 7, incoming travelers who have been vaccinated at least three times will no longer need to show proof of a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test result, with the government changing the existing requirement to take tests within 72 hours of departure.
_I told you Alex: a lot can happen with the border situation by the end of October. There are 61 days until 31 October, which is a lot of time. By then, it is reasonable to expect that the border will ease to an extent that independent travellers will be able to visit Japan. The only qualification possibly being tourists are triple vaccinated._

Yeah saw this on the news today while at work. Will be making my weekly Japan travel update video this Friday addressing these points. The 50,000 cap is expected, which is why I'm not making an update video on it right away. It is certainly moving faster than expected. @@OwusuJR Japan was always going to greatly ease border restrictions, perhaps remove all restrictions, before the end of the year is out. The only major complication is that, due to Japan’s serious and effective Covid management strategies in 2020 and 2021, Japan avoided the previous Alpha and Delta waves which occurred just about everywhere else. This largely explains why Japan’s border reopening pacing and timing has lagged compared to other economically advanced nations. This is a scientific reality, which has domestic Japanese political effects, that those in the West just cannot seem to fathom.
On the other hand, Australia did experience its Alpha wave in late 2020 when she experienced her highest daily death toll of 62 on 4 September 2020. This held the daily record until January 2022, which coincided with the Omicron wave, which persists to the current day. However, by January 2022, the mood of the Australian people was ‘enough was enough’ after nearly two years of pandemic hardships. This led to virtually all Covid management measures being lifted. Especially for domestic and overseas travel.
Junior, everything happens for a purpose. If one looks a little deeper into the complicated issue, there is reason and rhyme with proceedings. This is a sheer and fundamental reality that the political science and law graduates in Yokosuka will easily attest.
