i am a new player and i did pledged on the Syulen, i love it !! yes, landing was a learning curve with many explosions, but now its just my new normal, the Syulen is great, only thing i would ask CIG is to give the Syulen a lil bit more HP, the hull is very fragile. i also gave my Syulen NDB-30 (Neutron) Repeaters, because they look better and shoot Purple !
Thanks for sharing your setup, I didn't think about the NDB-30, well done! And welcome to Star Citizen, I think this is a great time to start in this game :)
Rather than windows they could be display screens. They're just windows in practice, but with a shader laid over them (at least for turning them on) to give the impression that it's a screen. This would allow for windows without actually dealing with the moving parts. 🤔 On the outside of the ship, then, they just add a few small circular bits with a lens and say that those are the external cameras.
if only they would think that far. displays like that could be on the wall that you stare at when you sit down on that extra seat that doesn't really do anything for you. this way you could sit down and look at a screen to see outside, maybe even select which direction you want to look out.
I understand why they don't have windows, would have loved windows on the warship I was on, but that's a big weakness that the elevator window shows that it's mostly just for checking conditions. and I was in the military and absolutely agree on separation; depending on where the actual power is, you could live without the entrance because I believe the habitation stuff is on the second level. Just replace the computer with he power plant and boom, gameplay that will probably never be in this game 😅
The Syulen is really cool and I love a more vertical interior, but it doesn't really fit my style so I didn't put it in my fleet. My bank account is thankful for that. I feel like your video style got a quality upgrade since last time, great job. Also nice to see that I was correct in my assumption of what your changes on the elevator in blender where.
Yeah I can understand your point of view. Performance side it's just OK. It's on the luxury-gameplay side, which appeal just a few (I admit I'm among them :) Thank you for the compliments and you were indeed correct :D
Ah, wonderful to see you post a new video, friend! Fantastic as always! The Syulen is a fun little ship that makes up for its weaknesses with quirkiness. I don't think it stands out at any particular task, but it always makes me smile when I pull it out of my hanger and take it for a spin.
Hey Casey! It's always so good to have you back :) Actually, that's why I really appreciate this ship, it's so much fun and I can't get enough of it. But other people have made very good points against this ship in the comments here, which I encourage you to read (and with which I agree). But still... this ship is really something. Thank you! :)
YAYYY, a new video! Thanks GioRu5!!! :D Very good quality content. Did you add some new ReShade settings? I feel like it's over-sharpened sometimes and a little bit too vibrant in some scenes. But anyway, I am happy to see that new video, and it was worth the wait time :) Now to the Ship. Personally, the Syulen is one of the worst ships I have ever seen in the Verse. The first moment I saw the reveal, I was like omg nice! Pledged in seconds when I saw it in the store and melted it after 14 in-game hours trying it out... Bad Things and why Syulen is the Top 2 Worst Ship in SC in my opinion: - Engine Sound is a bad joke, someone whining in your ears for hours. - Beautiful materials but it's basically a flying bunker like you said without any windows. - It's such a big target, and the wings are fragile. - No space for delivery boxes, so it is not a beginner ship. - Too big for good ship combat, so not really preferable for bounties or PVP at all; again, not a beginner ship. - The only ship with this horrible vertical landing, the learning curve is terrible, and getting used to it will basically ruin the skills for every single other ship since it's the only one ship with that landing style; again, not a beginner ship. - Retros will knock you out, and you need to get used to it, too complicated for a beginner ship again. - Cargo holder on the small wings is very unstable, and I often lost my cargo that I put there. - Buttons don't work properly, and all buttons are designed the same, for the door as for the components; was confusing in the first time. - Getting into the seat is a little bit time-consuming, but entering the ship in EVA is nearly impossible. Maybe this will change, but right now it's catastrophic. - Expensive, so useless this ship basically is, so expensive it is. The price difference between the Nomad and the Syulen is only 10 USD, but compared to the Nomad, the Syulen is a useless stone brick with many many thrusters attached to it. Nomad is better in any possible way. Okay, not aesthetics and QT Range and also the Nomad is fuken ugly, especially those gravlev landing gear XD. There are also some other points, but they are too subjective and just a personal taste. Good Things with the Syulen: + Looks nice! + Shit in style with the overengineered Spaceshitter 2000 :D! + Again looks of the materials! + If you can handle it, then the power of the engines is very nice to fly. Personaly i would give it a 2 maybe 3 out of 10 Now we get to the Mustang :D please mention the flying prison Cell, the Beta :). My first ship that i pledged / upgraded to directly when joined SC.
Thanks for this comment, you actually made me think a lot. All the points you listed are 100% correct and I admit had a hard time analyzing and reviewing this ship, really hard. Initially, my score for the Syulen was around 5, but after spending a lot of time with it, I started to appreciate its "pros" more than its cons. Oddly enough, some of the cons you listed are pros for me (like the engine sound and vertical landing). I probably should have given more than one rating, like I did for the Defender... In fact, the Syulen is useless in terms of performance. But it's also so well done, eccentric, and fun to use that it's easy to fall in love with it, and I wanted to reward that more than anything else. What do you think, should I start using a double rating? One for the perfomances and one for the role-play/emotional side? As for the video quality: Yes, I tried some extreme filters on this video... A bit too much? :D As for the Mustang, I would mention the Beta, but I will dedicate an entire episode to that ship ;) Thank you so much for this comment! :D
Great review! The pressurization doesn't bother me at all, I think a more pressing issue are those large leg plates, which should account for some physical armor. At present, the ship has absolutely zero ballistic protection, and these legs also make it a overly large target. If they gave the Syulen a 58% physical resistance value (like the Rambler), or alternatively, some considerable hull armor when those values are implemented, I think this would would be a 10/10 for its role (light explorer)
Good point. They even lowered the amount of body hit points... The Syulen and C8X are the only ships that have lost physical damage reduction. I think it's an oversight. At least I hope so.
i like the syulen. i even got it, as much as i hate myself for that. my main issue is the cargo. only 6x1size SCU is too limiting. why not *also* make size 2 fit in? i agree that it could use some one-way window(s), but i also like the cave-style they made it in with the rock-material texture. too many windows would take that away. if they could really change one big thing though i'd like if the cockpit would extend out a little more to the top so when looking around i get a better view off to the sides an maybe a little bit back. especially when landing, i could then do it in first person. i hate having to do anything in 3rd person just because the option for first person isn't really there. and one insane idea: since the pilot seat is being held by gravity tech, it should be able to rotate into a landing-position that puts the seat upright. that would also solve the first person landing issue.
Is it just one compartment? I thought when the elevator wasn't at a floor, it had a glass or some other transparent material plate slide into place to prevent anyone from falling into the hole and to seal that level... I also thought the lift itself would also be a seal, just look at the door to get in... does that look like it's a good seal? but apparently, it works lol. Also, when you open the door from the outside, if you look carefully, the English translation of the door button says "Airlock" ... so there's that.
What I dont like about the syulen: you can only transport small 1scu boxes what makes it unsutable for looting other ships you cant take any vehicle with you it is a easy to hit target with only 2 sice 1 shields. If it looses one wing, its impossible to handle. I was not able to find any use for this ship and avenger titan or nomad are much better choices.
@@gioru5 Eh. I mean, it's a cool little ship, but it lacks so much for it's intended role. No cargo, no utility mount, no way to bring large stuff into the cabin. The cabin itself, which looks like a prison cell, is just a rotten cherry on top it all. I wish CGI updated older ships. Starters especially...

I did the same thing with the NDB-30 repeaters on my Syulem!

Brilliant work and a great series.
Thank you very much!
Great video!!
maybe the first floor could be pressurized by sending the elevator to the second floor and thus sealing the elevator hole.
Yes, it could work somehow, cool idea!
Super video... they get better each time! o7
Thank you so much! So nice to hear that :)
i love your videos and thanks for the nice vids
Great review!
Thank you so much Bryan!
You are 100% correct about the windows. Those would make this ship fantastic

Fantastic Review! Thank you sir, you earned my subscription.
Thank you very much, welcome aboard!

It would be awesome if you did one of these for the tevarin talon!
I will! :)

Performance side, I'm totally with you. This ship is just for luxury cruising, but I'm happy that a starter like that is available
I'd love to see your review about something awful, like Mustang Beta XD
Well... I actually like the Beta 😅 (but I agree that the new interiors are so sad)
