Great reaction. They actually recorded this song in 2012 when Su was 14, Yui and Moa were still 12, so it is not autobiographical, but I'm sure they could relate to the lyrics. The girl in the song, as you know, is going to her first concert on her 15th birthday. However 15 is also when compulsory education ends in Japan, so she is coming to terms with no longer being considered as a child and having to grow up. Her first 15 years passed by so quickly and life will never be the same, so she is etching this special night of her 15th into her heart so she will never forget. At shows in 2014 on or near their own 15th birthdays, half way through the song Su handed the mic and stand to Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Cologne) and they took over lead vocals for the last half of the song (fancam videos for these only unfortunately). The same thing happened in 2019 on Moa's 20th birthday (official coming of age) with a change of lyric to "...this special night of my 20". You are absolutely right about the choreo (in several decades of watching and listening to rock and metal I never knew choreographed dancing could improve it). They use the choreo not only to help with interpreting the song but to lead the audience and give them their cue on when to jump, pump their fist, shout or whatever else ... and the whole crowd joins in because they have that lead to follow. Next - anything you fancy really, but I'd go for maybe a festival appearance outside of Japan so you can see how they do with a foreign crowd and without all the effects, pyro, lights and lasers and so on. So 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK - their first major event outside of Japan and facing a potentially hostile crowd of 50-60k UK metalheads who had no idea why 3 little Japanese girls in red tutus were on the main stage ... or 'Karate' live at Download 2016, again in the UK but also in the English rain.
To think of the determination and bravery from the little shy perfectionist that is Yui to sing solo at their first concert ever in Europe. That girl is a though cookie!!! 🥰
"Moabanger" is now a must to react, to see and hear how talented is Moa, and how good is Su in choreography. But if you want "techno", Mix of 15 version of headbanger is a nice option to react.
_Hedoban hedoban_ _Ban ban ban ban_ 🦊🤘🛐 Cool you already know the background and the lyrics meaning of this song. Although original title reads "Hedo Bangya!" (and that's how she sing or shout it) the title is written "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" but that's a minor correction, is all good, it just help for a quick search. I'm glad that you get it even after coming from the church and your own religion, please remember like we said during "Babymetal Death" that this is -NotACult- 👀 The new album and last new single called Mirror Mirror is already out, none of the new singles is getting copyright blocked issues if you want to check them out, but my suggestion is to keep enjoying a couple of more songs before getting into this new BM side and more mature sound we've never seen before. They gonna start a World Tour after the upcoming live shows starting next month, including Asia, Australia and US Festival like Blue Ridge, Louder Than Life and Aftershock, so hopefully you'll get the chance to see them live and enjoy this experience. Next suggestion: - _"Karate"_ live at Download Festival 2016, you can find a clip safe to react at "kitsune6001" channel. Btw if you like Children Of Bodom then you have to listen "Distortion" live at Download Festival 2018. This song got a lot of great versions to revisit, such live at Legend M 2019, Legend Metal Galaxy 2020, and many more so don't worry to come back whenever you want, is a BM favorite for a reason and they don't wanna leave this hit behind in their setlist, we even got a new version live at Makuhari Messe 2023, in this same venue you just watch but 10 years later. Put your kitsune up and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥
Their first experiences of Metal (apart from performing it themselves) was watching and meeting bands like Metallica back stage at concerts and festivals when they were pre-teens, I remember an interview from around the the time of this show where they said the only big names in Metal they had yet to meet were Iron Maiden
The 2 cheerleaders help with the crowd, which is a big part of their job. if the dancers jump the audience jumps, they conduct the crowd to a point and keep them on task.
Nice reaction, thanks! I saw Tesla, Legion, Metallica and AC/DC in 1991 at Monsters of Rock festival. I was 14 back then. I always related the lyrics of "Headbanger" to that experience. 🤘🦊
Great reaction. If you watch the Akatsuki unfinished version next, which starts with the scene where Su falls down at the end, you will realize how expressive she is, having just turned 16 years old.
After BABYMETAL DEATH and Road of Resistance, this one gave you a little taste of the more playful side of their music, both acoustically with the integration of synthesizers as well as visually with the smoke cannons and things like that. They go quite a lot further into that direction, which may be increasingly strange for some people, but it's also where the real fun and exclusivity lies. Those are the things that create the smiles that you cannot get with any other band. :-)
Nice reaction. From the first time I heard this song and found out what it was about. I imagined what it would be like if this was, you're very first concert. And I thought you'd be ruined for life. Thinking that all concerts were going to be that good. And when you find out that most don't come close how disappointing life would become. Then I thought lucky for you Babymetal is still performing, and you can go see them again. As cool as that was Babymetal has gotten better year after year. Kind of a Montra drilled into Su and Moa's head from when they were in Sakura Gakuin. Do the best you can always. They've improved at everything they do. Singing dancing crowd control and now Su has writing credentials too. Not to mention the epic level theatrical performances they have won awards for. For Babymetal this is the way. Show your talent. Gain skill to make it better. Then get new skills to make those better and just keep going forward. The Kamiband is made up of all guys. They have said how much they appreciate the ladies of Babymetal. Because they felt without them, they most likely would never have tour the world. Before Babymetal came along, there were only a hand full or less of Japanese bands that found any kind of success outside of Japan. Babymetal changed all that with a video that went viral. Give Me chocolate. Surprisingly it's actually about wanting chocolate. weird right. After this happened eyes turned to Japan and asked WTH is going on over there. Now the international community is getting band after band coming from there. Japan learned how to play really good rock and metal. They had others before Babymetal. X Japan and Loudness to name a couple. The rest were stuck in Japan. Now they've all been freed to tour the world. Thanks to 3 little Kawaii angels who changed the way things were being done. And for those of us outside of Japan for the better. Folks have said they have gone to a Babymetal concerts and remained ridiculously happy for months even years afterwards. How could they not be when they've received the blessing of seeing a glance from Su or a wave from Moa while she flashes her dimples. Kawaii yes. But the joy folks feel when they leave a Babymetal concert is worth the ticket price. Which is another thing drilled into them from their time in Sakura Gakuin. Folks paid good money to see you. Do not disappoint them. Part of always do the best you can for your fans. They've never tanked a show or just went through the motions. As a fan we love them for it too. Enjoy the ride through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.
My first metal concert I had a couple red bull and vodkas. I'd never had an energy drink before. I was not afraid of the mosh pit. The mosh pit was afraid of me.
Nicely done, some of my favorite songs: Ijime, Dame, Zettai, clasic BM song. SONG 4 - 4 No Uta, Yon, yon! GJ Awadama Fever, super catch melody and great fun. As was mentioned there is MoaBanger you can react to and there is another version of this song you can react to with your wife which is Babymetal headbanger Apocolypse 1997 which is even more insane than this one was. So you can watch those with your wife and it will feel like a completely new experience for you still. Highly recommend reacting to those as well. Somebody else recommended Akatsuki Unfinished as a good followup as well. I'd stand by that statement as well. There is also another version of Akatsuki which is just called Akatsuki. The unfinished version is a much more emotional version though. Anyhow, looking forward to watching more reactions!
Don't jump too fast, a new album has been launched, and can be confusing if you go there so fast. I recommend you to go step by step first with songs of the first album.

Headbanger is not about Su - I don't think that she's ever been in the audience at a metal concert. She experiences them as a performer or listening from back stage. Su grew up as a "theater kid" performing J-pop songs and in musicals. She had no experience of metal until the Amuse producer Kei Kobayashi put her and Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi into the school themed idol group, Sakura Gakuin's, "Heavy Metal Club", which became Babymetal. Headbanger is about a bittersweet coming of age for a 15 year old girl who goes to a concert and loses herself in the experience of the mosh pit. She realizes that such carefree moments won't happen when she has the responsibilities of an adult and so she vows to remember the night. You should look at the "Babymetal Guide" by CrypticMisery as that will answer your many questions. This "Legend 1997" concert is both a celebration of Su's 16th birthday (she was born in 1997) and also celebrates Babymetal's transformation from a J-pop idol group that started performing to backing tracks and developed into a headlining metal band backed by the Kami Band...the guys in the white robes and corpse make up. The concert starts with a mimed dubstep version of "Headbanger" called "Night of 15 Mix" which is fun and ends with the version of "Headbanger" you just watched, a beautiful Su solo called "Unfinished Akatsuki" and the theatrical auto da fe of "Babymetal DEATH" - there's lots to unpack with Babymetal and you should watch those performances too.
Next song? Maybe go back to the very beginning, when they were still part of the Sakura Gakuin idol group. ( the heavy metal club). They put out their first video, entitled " Doki Doki morning". Warning, they were teeny tiny back then. Enjoy. 🦊🦊🔥🦊🦊

Headbanger (Babymetal song):-
"Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" (ヘドバンギャー!!, Hedobangyā!!) is a single by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. Released in Japan on July 4, 2012 in promotion for the album Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation, the single serves as the third single from the debut album Babymetal. It is also the band's first solo audio release to be released commercially.
•Single: Babymetal.
•Album: Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin 2012. •Nendo: My Generation.
•Language: Japanese.
•Released: July 4, 2012.
•Genre: Power Metal, Heavy Metal.
•Length: 14:44.
•Label: Juonbu.
•Songwriter: Edometal, Nakametal, Narasaki.
•Producer: Kobametal.
•Narametal: (arrangement).
Babymetal singles chronology:-
"Babymetal / Kiba of Akiba": (2012)
"Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!": (2012)
"Ijime, Dame, Zettai": (2013)
Background and release:-
Unlike previous tracks released by the band, which had her vocal recorded in segments within the songs, Nakamoto had her lines recorded in a single take several times. She had been told to sing and find a story within the music. By the time she had comprehended the story behind the lyrics, she grew capable of singing the entire song naturally. When Mizuno and Kikuchi listened to her shouting "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" for the first time, they felt as if they had seen another cool side of her, surprised by the vocal power. Additionally, the single introduced the members to the whispering style of singing, with the A-side's "Kiero!" (Disappear!) and the B-side's "Uki Uki Midnight". Kobametal was inspired to use it to contrast traditional death growls.
"Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" was announced as a single on April 27, 2012, with a release date set for July 7, 2012. The single was released in two versions: a standard edition, available via CD and digital formats, and a physical limited Hedo-ban ("Head edition"), which contains a CD and a "neck corset" (actually a cervical collar) for headbanging training.[5] Both editions of the single feature the songs "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" and "Uki Uki ★ Midnight" (ウ・キ・ウ・キ★ミッドナイト, "Exhilarating Midnight"), along with instrumental versions (labeled as "Air Vocal ver."). The standard version contains an enhanced CD with a bonus music video of "Babymetal Death", which can only be played on a computer. The artwork of the standard edition depicts a lyric in the song, specifically when the girl is headbanging with the corset, with the crimson-colored moon in the background, as well as the band name appearing at the top. The limited edition artwork depicts a temple scripture of the "Corset of Legend" with the song title spelled out in the middle.
Before the physical international release of the song, its title was written ambiguously as either "Head Bangya!!" or "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!", the latter of which is officially used in the international re-release of Babymetal and all future releases. The music video uploaded to the band's TH-cam channel initially had the former name, though it was switched to the latter in 2015; the version uploaded by Toy's Factory consistently retained the official title.
Tekina Remix:-
During the live performances Legend "D" Su-metal Seitansai at Akasaka Blitz on December 20, 2012, and Legend "1997" Su-metal Seitansai at Makuhari Messe on December 21, 2012, a remix titled "Night of 15 mix." was performed, containing more elements of electronic music. The former took place on Suzuka Nakamoto's actual fifteenth birthday, while the latter was the opening song for the concert. Remixed by DJ'Tekina//Something, the song was later released as part of Social Reform promotional editions of the single "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", and later appeared on DJ'Tekina//Something's remix album Kawa-EDM (2016), re-subtitled as "Tekina Remix".
KamiBand:-
The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis are male except for the Babymetal girls. The Kami Band wear corpse face paint and white robes depicting Japanese 🇯🇵 spirit. The Kami Band have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL.
Babymetal original Trio:-
•Suzuka Nakamoto: Su-Metal (2010 - present).
•Moa Kikuchi: Moametal (2010 - present).
•Yui Mizuno: Yuimetal (2010 - Left Babymetal in 2018 due to undisclosed health issue).
Current & Past Members Of Kami Band Who Perform At The "MAKUHARI MESSE":-
•Leda Cygnus (Guitar, ESP BLACK CUSTOM).

Enjoy.
