i could listen to the hoots on loop all day. i love the way it echoes softly, like its vocalizing into the night. this is honestly one of my favorite videos on TH-cam now
Justice for mah boi. Both versions are bloody awesome. Frill and without frill, real life and fiction. The movie version with the frill is my favorite but ive always had a soft spot for the original novel version.
@@listenerofnature7899 it was an African wild dog but it’s slowed down a lot. That’s why it sounds “muddy”, I was younger and didn’t even bother to make the sound clearer. The credit goes to the All Star Pterosaur channel, it was his brilliant idea to use especially these animals
The problem with the novel is the author only mentions the dilophosaurus sounds like a a owl, but there are more than 20 different types of owls all over the world and all of them have different sounds. Some owls hoots sound like a "boo! boo!" while others owl hoots sound like a more like a screech sound. The author did not mention wich owl was the sound.
These are two *very* slowed-down squeals of African wild dogs combined one after another. If I recall correctly the first “Hoo” and the second “Hoo” were originally two different sounds from the same recording but I just made them to be one “Hoo-Hoo”. Like two notes. I should’ve mastered the entire thing though but I just didn’t have enough knowledge back then and now it sounds quite muddy and messy
Scary! Yeah, the way in the novel it describes their “owl-like” hooting! And the hisses and screams! This is sweet! 👍
The hooting in the beginning literally gave me chills.
Yes!
Thanks to @allstarpterosaur850
It was his idea to use those wild dogs
Same. 😱

It sounds exactly like how it was described in the Jurassic Park novel.
The hooting is exactly how I imagined what they’d sound like In the novel.

Imagine the fear and absolute horror that Nedry felt when he hears these sounds all the while being blinded and ripped open...

I think you should be a sound designer for movies, you’re so talented.
If I become the one, I’ll never forget your channel!
If Universal Studios decides to make a TV show about the Jurassic Park novels I think they should use this Dilophosaurus sound
This is incredible! You should do the rest of the novel dinosaurs!
0:31 Amazing sound effects but this one really stood out to me ❤❤
That hooting sound is actually pretty soothing. Terrifying if you heard it on Isla Nublar though.
Anything heard on Isla Nublar would probably be terrifying…
@@MrSserpent True
If you don't mind me asking, what sound did you use for the hooting?

You should make the Jurassic Novel t Rex sound effects
They're pretty much T Rex Sound Effects from Jurassic Park films
This is amazing work!!

Nedry was probably in need of a fresh pair of pants.
Nice job!!
