    Very cool video. I've got an x60s. Love the machine. It's a great little 9x gaming machine. Also just purchased a 570. It's on it's way but hoping it'll make a good DOS machine for older games.

    Love the machine, just did a battery test on mine. I managed to get 1hour 15 minutes on my battery while at full brightness and playing Old School Runescape. The t5600 runs quite hot though even after a thermal repaste. My specs are; t5600 64bit CPU, 3gb DDR2 and a 128gb ssd running PopOS. Of course I librebooted it.

    Just wondering, but on my Pentium M PC, Jamboard says WebGL error. Does a core 2 duo version of this support a newer OpenGL or WebGL versions for those databases(Does Jamboard work)? I need to use Jamboard for school, and my Pentium M is finally starting to show it's age on Elive OS. And just another question, is the X220 too small with the 16:9 aspect ratio? It's quite a bit more modern, but it has that trade-off. I love my ancient 4:3 gateway, but if it isn't very cramped I'm willing to switch to 16:9...maybe.

    • @classicdome9347
      @classicdome9347  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ThinkPad X60 has an Intel GMA950 which supports OpenGL 1.4 on Windows according to wikipedia.org. I also love the 4:3 aspect ratio, however I think if you want to use some more modern web applications (I don't know Jamboard) a newer ThinkPad like the X220 would be the safer bet.

    Great video, I also have two x60 and they are great. Like you max out the ram and add ssd. Lightweight, on the move usage. Also the single core is 32bit whereas 64bit os for duel core. I run windows 8.1 32bit on t1300 and it's as smooth as silk especially using Opera web browser

    Is the T7200 running hot?
    I have a very similar laptop, an HP Compaq N6400, that I put a Core 2 Duo T7200 in, and it's running a bit hot, and I was wondering if your upgraded ThinkPad has a similar situation.

    • @classicdome9347
      @classicdome9347  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your comment. The T7200 is definitely on the hotter site. In direct comparison, the X60 with the weaker processor (T1300) gets much less hot than the T7200.

    • @greatwavefan397

      @@classicdome9347 The T7200 can run 0.125v lower than the T7400 or even the T7600, if I remember. With some tweaks, it should be possible to run it much cooler.

      @@classicdome9347 Dude, you can to do you channel better. For it you can to create a comparative tests of "ancient" processors of notebooks. For example how it do right you can see in channels "Benchmark" and "Testing games". For some reason, only desktop processors and only new generation are tested in this channels. Therefore, I feel that there are not enough tests of mobile processors too.

    • @classicdome9347
      @classicdome9347  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both X60 tested are standard (non s) variants. The X60s has a thinner body and a weaker cooling system, but also a very slow processor that does not produce that much heat as the t7200. If you compare the both X60 shown in this video, the T7200 actually gets hotter and is louder for that reason. On the other hand you can't do anything demanding with the T1300 :D.

    Dumb conclusion, that XP would load faster on a cpu that has 1.6Ghz, rather than 2Ghz but one less core. Fingerprint module did nothing wrong, was shaded for no reason.

The 32 bit variant with its T1300 throws OOBE errors. So there was no comparisson possible between the two configurations.
